Capítulo 27: Ch.27 Friendship Beam
The tense situation of having an alien stop and linger in front of room 22's happend once more; counting a total of 3 times that could only mean 3 alien and another would still be on its way.
Then Zheng had the bright idea of striking, if the 4th and final alien comes by...
Seeing him pick up his improviced steel pikes, Kris held his arm and shook his head; while gesturing at the pikes. he then pointed his thumb at him self while raising his light saber.
He then pointed at both sides of the room's door, and pointing at Zheng and him self.
Zheng nodding as he understood the plan, turning to look at Lan and Jie he indecated from them to hide.
Taking their posistions just in time for another scraping noise to be heard at the door but this time. It was answered by the activation of Kris light saber.
The alien was alerted by this sound and used its tail to pucture the door and ripped it open, now without a door the alien took careful steps as it enters the room...
As soon as its head made it half way the entrance, Kris swang down from his high stance. slicing a third of its head; but then the alien began to trash about. Zheng look this chance to use his steel pikes in succession; to pin it into the ground...
When two of the pike effectively pins the alien; as a last ditch effort; it used its tail to stab forward and caught Zheng in the leg; as he was in the middle of delivering the final blow. This happened so fast that Kris wasn't able to react in time.
After the alien pierced Zhend leg it stopped is final struggle and went still.
Lan hurriedly ran towarda Zheng. "Hows it, hows it? Zheng! Are you alright?"
The anxiety sent her crying as she saw Jie standing there in a daze. She knelt beside Zheng. But as she got down, she saw him stroking his head with an idiotic expression.
She suddenly felt angry smacked him in the head. "You scared us! You attacked it without saying anything, what happens if you failed? You will and also get both of us in trouble! You will get us killed!" she was also looking at Kris as she fumed.
Jie went over to where Zheng was at. He found a deep footprint embedded in the ground. He stood up and said in amazement, "That was incredible. You jumped backwards as the Aliens tail hit you. Thats why it only got through your skin. If it was me standing there, it would have probably pierced through and I would have lost my whole leg."
Zheng smiled bitterly. "You two, help me bandage it up first. Kris will you be fine standing guard?"
Zheng took out the hemostasis spray and bandage from his ring. With the help of Jie he bandaged the hole on his thigh, lucky it missed the bone and a major vein or he'll be bleeding to death right now.
As Zheng was all patched up. Kris immediately said to them, "There's no time to explain. Jie, carry Zheng on your back and move toward Xuan. Don't stop no matter what happens. Lan, Zheng's my right arm is broken so carry those steel bars for him. Remember to keep up with us. Lets go. I be on the lead."
Knowing what the after effects of the unlocked stage is like Kris warned Jie. Not even a few seconds after the warning Zheng started to spasm.Lan and Jie looked worried but trusted Kris's words.
Zhenga pain came and went quickly. It didnt bring more injuries to Zheng aside from exhaustion. After the pain had passed, Jie and Lan immediately looked relieved.
After recovering enough he said to them, "I heard gunshots. Kris, did you hear it?"
Kris nodded. "That was the reason we had to hurry."
Jie immediately listened carefully for a while, then nodded. "Yes, I heard some very faint gunshots Does this mean they succeeded? They found guns at the arsenal? Zheng smiled bitterly. They probably found the guns, but I think theyre fighting against those three Aliens. Otherwise the gunshots wouldnt sound so intense."
"How many grenades do you still have? Give me all of them. Lan, give me the steel bars also." said Zheng
Jie put out his palms with a bitter smile. "None, I gave the grenades to them back then."
("Those bastards.") Though Lan and took out two grenades from her pocket. She smiled. "Thankfully I kept an eye on this What are you planning to do? These are the last two." she ask Zheng
"The 3 of us will rush there and show ourselves to them, I'll use these steel bars to help distructed the alien and get their attention, while Kris will take these granades and find the chance to finish them off."
Lan sighed as she heard this. "You're planning to risk your life again? Your injuries..."
Zheng turned around and smiled at her. " No worries, I don't know about the other two; but with Xuans wisdom, he will definitely keep the Aliens attention when he sees what we're trying do. I only have to keep them busy, while Kris sneak in from behind and attack them. And as long as I can pierce the steel bar into their body before, Kris detonate granade. The explosion will deal major damage to them. So rest assured."
Jie said ," I was mistaken about you. Zheng, you are talented in combat. Using the words of my instructor, youre born to be a fighter. The more desperate the situation is, the more potential you unravel. Whether its the physical combat or planning."
Zheng took the steel bars from Jie. He tried to aim it with his left hand, then smiled bitterly. "I'm no fighter. I just want to do everything to live."
Jie continued carrying Zheng on his back while Lan carried the steel bars. As they were running, Lan muttered, "Why do we have to save them? Wouldn't that put us in danger?" pointing the question at Zheng.
Zheng was circulating his Qi. He inhaled and exhaled in concentration so he wasn't able to answer.
Kris took the chance to answer, "We are actually in danger all along. If we can't eliminate the Aliens, we will die sooner or later. So Xuans ability to analyze and plan, Zero and Kampas skills in using modernized weapons are important factors."
Jie asked suddenly, "Then why did Zheng split up with them? If we stayed together then we would have gotten weapons by now instead of having you and Zheng do all the fighting. Also I dont think Xuan would give us up."
Zheng sighed and answered this time. "Yes, if we stayed with them, we wont be given up. And we will be safe before Zero and Kampa die At least Jie and I will be safe. But! This is also one of the reasons."
"One reason is I can't stand his methods. Using comrades like disposable pieces look at what happend to Kris. The other reason is I won't put my fate into the hands of another person. Perhaps we will be safe in the beginning, but what will happen after some time? I dont want to think about how I will die, I will only think about how I can live! As comrades I will do my best to support and protect them. In return my comrades will not give me up when I need help."
"Xuan cant accomplish this, so I chose to leave. This way I can stand on the same level as him. Yes, if he can discard his comrades, then we will be someone that can make use of his wisdom while not being his comrades allies! Were both independent, yet supporting each other. This is the only method to cooperate with him that I can think of."
Lan thought for a moment and said, "Why cant he give up on allies? Whats the difference?" Zheng smiled.
Then Kris said " The biggest difference is allies are independent. We will support each other but we can also fight independently. We wont become a burden to the other party, and dont have to be responsible for the other partys mistakes. Comrades are formed by a group of people each with different talents. They have to protect each other."
" We cant trust Xuan to protect his comrades. So in order to obtain their power, We can only choose to become their ally. We can only get them to understand the importance of our group after leaving them. This way they will accept us as allies and not disposable pieces."
