Capítulo 7: Ch.7 They don't give shots for stupidity.
I honestly don't know what I'm doing, before all this I was just some very forgetable Yes man. Working graveyard shifts and staying away from the 3 vices as much as I can but, when I woke up on an underground train a couple of hours ago something just clicked. And I started acting like some comedic Jacky Chan rip off. It must be this body, I just car jacked or body jacked, that's making me act funny.Yup I blame it on this body. I'm the type of person that bottles my sarcastic comments to myself and I wasn't this bold either. But right now, I really don't know who to blame about this blunder. Who would have guessed that the vial for the T-virus cure doesn't come with it's own needle...
After being kid zoned by Alice, Spence called out from the hall saying we were about to march forth since One and Kaplan found us a quicker route to take. We started with a light jog, me keeping up with Kaplan. Noticing I was somewhat bleeding he ask me "What happend to you?" I just gave him an exasperated look while giving my reply " That's the last time, I'm walking into a tearful family reunion. Worst than breaking up a cat fight." "Ah-Huh, forget I asked" he says while picking up his face. I wish it was DJ... I mean JD that was here, he'll know what I'm talking about.
A couple of bends and hallways later, I just remember Matt getting scrached by the Spence mutant zombie. ("Wasn't there a scene where the wound on his shoulder wriggled and some tentackles poke out of the wound?"). That seriously made my heart jumped, as I inspect my wound again. Glasses girl anoying voice rang from my ear, I then recall her saying that you have to take the cure 10mins after being bit or you would still join the undead legion even if to got hit with the cure. Scared as hell now, I spotted a room with a red cross symbol mean a clinic or sort. I broke off from the group by slowing my pace down till, I was at very back of the group with out them noticing me. Seeing them turn right at next hallway, dashing to the room before.
I quickly took out the plastic tube I had with the cure. I made certain to take the green color vial out, I'm sure this is the cure 'cause when I took the vials off the case before there were green vials the size of a crayon on each of the case corners. Meaning its some precaution encase there's a leak within the case, the cure from those vials would nutralize the virus. As I was about ready to stab myself with the cure, that's when I knew there's something missing. "Where's the pointy end on this thing?!" Shyte, the clock was ticking. I can't remember how long was I scrached, but I could tell by the feeling in my shoulder that the virus is nearing my heart now. This is a do or die moment for me, I had to do something. If I run back to the group, in hope to reach the train early enough to get a hit of the cure 'cause I was sure there a delivery device thingy within the case. But that's a lost cause, spence will soon betray the mercs and lock them up with a zombie, leading to Kaplan shuting the system off once more setting loose the lickers in the process. And going back to Zheng and the rest will be ill advised since there there closest to the licker chamber and I most likely won't have any chance to reaching them in time. So scavenger hunt it is, I need to look for a delivery device to use the cure with.
Meanwhile... with Zhengs group...
After the mercenaries left, Lan laughed. "Did you see that? They were looking at us with sympathy. I wonder how they will feel when they encounter the lickers." With three sturdy metallic doors and the defensive system of the corridor, this was a very safe place. At least compared to what the casts had to face. The four of them finally could relax. Jie also handed some cigarettes to Zheng. And they started to talk about god's dimension again...
"There are too many good things you can exchange from God. I haven't even finished reading through the list. It has four categories. 1. Scientific, such as guns, bullet proof vests, and even some weapons that only appeared in scifi movies, but they also cost a fortune. They're not something I can afford. 2. Magical items, like scrolls, Taoist charms, amulets, and swords."........"on the third category of things you can exchange. Support items, like antidote, drugs with healing properties, perishables like bullets, some scifi items like invisible cloak, and enhancement items."
"I was overjoyed when I saw the enhancement items. Like the genetic mutation of spiderman, the description said it lets you obtain the bloodline of spiderman, increasing intelligence by 20, mental capacity by 20, cell vitality by 50, reaction speed by 100, muscle density by 100, and immunization by 150 points. and you also get the web shooter ability. All these for just 2000 points." Zheng and the other two was surprised. Lan counted then said. "The enhancements alone would cost 3000 points, and you get a web shooter ability. This is too cost effective, why didn't you exchange it?"Jie waved his hand with a bitter smile. "I do want to. If i have this genetic mutation then I won't be in danger in movies like Resident Evil. But this type of enhancements cost side quest rewards. Rank A reward can be reduced to three rank B rewards. Rank B can be reduced to three rank C and so forth. The lowest rank is D. I have only seen the reward appear once. It isn't something you can easily get."Zheng held the urge to tell them he had a rank B reward.
He asked, "What rank reward does the spiderman mutation needs?"Jie took out another cigarette. "It needs a rank C reward. I have also looked at a few rank D enhancements. Like battle Qi, rank D gives you entry level Qi, but the but the high level Qi would require rank B or even A rewards.""There's also T virus mutation, like the one Alice has. It increases intelligence by 20, mental capacity by 20, cell vitality by 50, reaction speed by 50, muscle density by 50, immunization by 100, and the evolution ability of T virus. It needs 1500 points and a rank C reward. It's so lucky to be the main character of this movie. She gets it without doing anything. "Zheng felt he was blessed, this meant once he survived through this movie, he could exchange for quite a few enhancements. He had some more hope in his future.
"Ah, yeah by the way...Why were you so tough on that kid?" Zheng couldn't help but ask Jie about the treatment he was giving that trainee kid.
With a puff of smoke Jie sighed " That kid has alot of potential, truth be told he was the first one to wake up but a soon as he saw my face. He shut his eye back up, trying fool people he was asleep and knocked out. But what kind of knocked out person, cracks his one eye to look around the room and snoop on other people conversation. I know that type of kid and his a rascal, you can't give them an inch 'cause they'll surely take a mile." Zheng was dumb founded by Jie's opinion of the kid. Just when Jie was to continue, that's when the lights in the room went out...
Back to Kris...
After spending the time to look for another delivery device for the cure, he still haven't found any signs of the thing not even a syringe. Starting to feel the burning sensation near his chest area, the light went out. Scrambling to find a hiding spot, knowing the licker are now out to play, he found a big stainless steel cabinet with suitable size drawers. He quickly emptied its contents removed the drawers, laid the now hollow cabinet on top of himself all the while inside the 3rd clinic he found. Starting to feel the burning sensation more than before, he made the smartest or maybe the stupidest decision he had ever made in his life. And cracked open the cure and drunk it, then passing out.
