The world is a dark, dangerous place. Laced with wickedness from its foundations... breeding evil, chaos... it has never changed. Always has been. Always will.
Life is certainly not for the feint-hearted, nor for those who grow weak at the knees, shaking like a strummed guitar. The difference between living and surviving is astounding...
So there are those who rise up and fight the injustices, and those who don't.
Those who sit idly by, watching from the side-lines with hope to live a peaceful life. It's a dream that couldn't be further from reality.
It seems simple, yet those capable to fight are labelled notorious vigilantes, criminals... or perhaps a more fitting word would be assassins.
Thousands of them. Both good and bad. All dotted like stars across Caswor, but none as well known and revered as The Shadow.
She holds the crown that others could only dream of reaching... their hands likely to be severed at the attempt... It really was a cruel world.
It was a world of kill or be killed.
Well, that's how she always saw it. The horrors of life more evident than its beauties, even when told that everything weighed out another. That, what held this world up was balance.
Bullshit.
People who lived an honest life didn't deserve to suffer, be oppressed. Those who were sitting above looking down on their victims didn't deserve the luxury.
But that wasn't the case everywhere.
In some parts, people were equal, thriving in a symbiotic harmony that allowed all to prosper and grow.
The synergy between two people was something to behold... yet would never last.
Happiness was always a fleeting emotion. Even in the moments when they feel it's effects, do they think as to when it will end, when that shred of bliss will sadly pass.
Everything has a purpose.
Everything has a meaning.
Everyone has a past.
Except, The Shadow had no recollection of her past. From a certain age, everything was just a a blur...
But does she care?
