Capítulo 38: Her Wounds Bleed With His Heart

After the nosy maids left the room, Xavier was quick to rush to Tashina who was on the king sized bed with her bleeding clothes that stained the white sheets with an agonizing color.

The first thing the Alpha did was to take her tattered and dirty clothes off so he could really see the damage on her pale, wounded body.

He used a wet cloth to wipe off the dried blood on her skin and his heart seemed to sink when he discovered new wounds on her body every second.

Bang! Bang!

Someone was knocking on the door.

Xavier paid no attention to the knock and continued with his work at hand.

Bang!

It came again, much louder but this time with a voice.

"Xavier, open up. It's me, let me help you get her checked up" Ren's eager voice rang from behind the door.

Xavier paused for a minute and appeared to be in deep thought before he reached out to cover Tashina's nearly naked body with the sheet and stood up, heading towards the door.

He turned the doorknob and it revealed his cousin, Ren, changed into much cleaner clothes as his hands were put in a fist, about to pound the door again.

"Get in, quick" Those three words were enough for Ren to rush into the room without a second thought.

"How are the wounds?" He asked as he put his briefcase down on the table and brought out some of his medical equipment.

"Worse than I thought. She has three major wounds on her stomach, arm, and close to her chest while minor wounds are all over her body. I also detected a few broken ribs and bones but not quite sure how many" Xavier replied grimly.

"That's quite a damage" Ren muttered with a sigh as he went towards her.

Ren began to examine Tashina's wounds with his professional hands. Devastating silence filled the thick air as Xavier sat down on the sofa, watching the pale angel on his bed from across the room.

Her wounds were bleeding out profusely, up to the point that it was hard for Ren to subdue and as each drop of her blood fell on the white, soft sheets, the wound inside his heart leaked harder.

The enormous amount of pain, rage, despair and regret the Alpha felt was formidable. No one could understand his emotions and no one was capable of calming him down.

No one except her.

It might have been a few minutes or even a few hours before Ren washed the blood on his hands and asked Xavier to carry Tashina as he wanted to change the sheets.

As the Alpha took his princess in his arms, Ren brought out clean sheets from the walk-in closet and changed them with the blood-stained one.

Xavier laid Tashina's bandaged body down on the clean sheets and he freed her hair from the loose ponytail after putting her in one of his shirts.

"She is in critical condition. Although the bond that blew off in the market did help her a lot, she lost a lot of blood, too many to be retrieved through the drip as she is a blood-sucking creature. Blood is her second nature so just using the drip won't help her.

"I did give her a dose of painkiller in case she wales up anytime soon which I'm sure will be very possible. I did all I can now but I will do better when she regains consciousness and get some blood to drink" Ren explained as he packed his equipment.

"Thank you" Xavier uttered.

"No need to thank me, brother. It wasn't a favor, it's my duty" Ren assured with a smile.

"But Alpha," Ren changed his tone and he appeared to be more serious.

"I know you are not in the perfect state of mind right now but the situation outside isn't good, the Pack has thousands of questions and they are demanding for it to be answered with immediate effect.

"I did manage to steer them off the castle but it won't be long before they will barge in again and we won't be able to stop them anymore"

"I understand" The Alpha nodded and leaned forward to plant a small kiss on her forehead.

He made sure he heard and felt her steady breaths before he stood up to leave the room with his cousin after changing into clean clothes.

He ordered two of their best guards to stand by the door to protect her in case of any danger.

"Protect her with your life" The Alpha warned before he left.

The guards, although confused as though why they should protect an enemy, they nodded with conviction.

When Xavier reached the main hall, he saw his Werewolves all standing, sitting, or leaning towards the wall.

There was small chattering going on but other than that, they were all serious and grim.

The air was filled with rage, hatred, animosity but most of all, confusion.

The Alpha sensed it and sighed heavily while running his hands through his black, long strands.

They all looked up and then bowed when they saw their Alpha and his Beta approaching.

"Ren, gather all the Weres on the field. I believe we all need to have a talk" The Alpha said and they all left to the field.

The Packhouse was filled with thousands of Werewolves and they all ranged in position and authority.

The highest position that followed after the Beta was the Gamma. It consists of the high-ranking officials in the castle and the army. They were often regarded as Generals.

After the Gamma, followed by the Kappa which mainly young and newly appointed heads of departments in the castle, their work was to organize the affairs of the castle in the most defined manner.

The lowest of them all were the Omega, where students and newly appointed soldiers and in some cases, even children fell into.

All the ranks were out in the field, waiting for the Alpha to answer their numerous questions but the most pressing one was,

What was a vampire doing in North-East, not to talk of the castle itself?

The Alpha came by and stood behind him was his Beta, Ren.

"Good evening, dear Pack" he started with a simple greeting and the harsh wind blew within the night sky.

"As you all know, I'm not a huge fan of beating around the bush so I will get straight to the point. Most of you must have witnessed when I came into the castle, shirtless and barefooted with an injured vampire, and must be wondering what happened.

"I apologize for the inconvenience and disturb you feel because of the creature within our midst but I can promise you one thing that this won't hurt any of you. I would never do anything to harm you all, that's an assurance from me and my Beta" Ren nodded from behind.

"All I need now is for you to go back to your respective abode and retire for the day. Further questions will be answered later, thank you for your time" he bowed and left the field.

The series of questions still came flying out.

"Who is that thing?!"

"Why should she be kept in the castle?!"

"She should be chained up!!"

And they were all left unanswered.

The Alpha quickly returned to his room and locked the door behind him.

Her soft snores could be heard around the room and he felt at ease just merely looking at her and listening to her deep breaths.

He looked around the room and suddenly began to smile.

For the past years which couldn't be counted, this room has been for him and him alone. He would leave the room early in the morning and would return to it late at night alone.

Although it shone with its magnificent designs and furniture, then he hated it more than anything.

All he wished for was a companion, someone to get rid of the dangerous loneliness that crept into his heart day by day.

Now, he could smell her beautiful aroma mixing in with his and he loved it more than anything.

He wished it could last forever.

He sat on the edge of the bed, being careful not to hit her wound as he stroked her red locks that spread out to cover the sheets in a wonderful posture.

The brutal, stubborn wind thumped the windows with its playful lyrics and the golden curtains danced to its tune like a beating drum.

Xavier stood up and went to the window, he looked outside the castle before he closed it and stopped the wind from passing through.

He tilted his head in confusion, he remembered that the windows were closed before they left so who opened it?

When he turned back, he felt a cold metal resting on the skin of his neck and he looked up to meet the blazing jade-green eyes glaring at him.
