"Catch me if you can!!" her joyful voice rang all over the park as she ran and her red, bright hair flew with the gentle wind.
The elegant and cool voice let out a light giggle as she followed behind the little girl as slowly as she could so she won't catch her on time.
"I will get you, Tashi" Madia's sweet voice made her daughter to scream and run even further from her mother.
"No, mama. You won't be able to catch me!" Small Tashina giggled as her beautiful green dress followed her swiftly.
Queen Madia opened her arms and wrapped her daughter as she raised her up to tickle her with her face.
"Mama, stop!" the giggles and chuckles of the duo made the nearby birds smile in tranquility.
"Stop!"
Suddenly the whole scene changed into a bedroom where Queen Madia lay on the bed with a sickly pale face and little Tashina hid behind her father because she was not used to her mother being so weak.
"Mama?" she called out in confusion and her mother brought out her trembling hand and ushered her towards the bed.
Feeling uncertain, the little princess looked up at her father and he gave her a grim nod for assurance so she moved slowly towards the bed.
"My baby" Queen Madia's weak hand clutched her daughter's with fear and despair.
"Mama, why are you talking like that? You didn't play with me today, why?" her tiny head tilted as she tried to discover what was wrong with her mother.
"Forgive me, my darling Tashi. But Mama won't...won't be able to play with you anymore" she let out with great strength and rested her head in exhaustion.
"But why?" Tashina asked.
The desperate rise and fall of her chest confused the princess even more. The nurses quickly ran to the Queen and tried to help her breathe properly once again.
King Regor came and took his daughter away from the room so she won't witness the devastating loss of her mother.
That was the last time she saw her mother and up till now, her question has never been answered.
Why her mother could no longer play with her.
The scene changes again, this time the same room but with different furnitures and atmosphere.
"This is your new mother, Princess Tashina"
The princess looked up to see a very beautifully dangerous looking young lady with her blonde hair tied in a simple bun and her eyes crinckled as she smiled down at her.
"My name is Sania, Princess. I will be your new mother and Queen from today onwards" the young lady said with a beautiful voice as she stroked the little girl's ponytail with fake loving eyes.
The scene changed once more but this time, it was a place she has never seen before. The tall, dark trees blocked any view from afar and the dark clouds overshadowed any object from being seen.
The princess looked around in confusion as she was the only one in this mysterious forest.
"Hello?!" she called out and her voice echoed several times before it finally disappeared.
She noticed she was now all grown up and putting on her armor with the Python Blade on her right hand.
"Run, run wherever you are, because I am coming to get you" a dark and dangerous voice whispered in her ears but when she turned back she saw nobody.
When she turned around, a black dust storm was heading towards her and she started running without looking back.
As she ran, she kept on screaming and screaming until her throat became sore and she couldn't anymore, she used her Blade to strike nothing in particular as she ran deep into the forest.
When she looked back, the storm was getting closer so she increased her speed. Suddenly, she felt a bright illumination up ahead and she ran towards it, stretching her hands so she could reach for it.
Xavier jolted up from the couch with shock and he sat up straight. His whole body was drenched with sweat as his heart felt restless.
The enormous amount of rain wet the windows and voices of thunder could be heard from outside.
Suddenly he heard a voice.
"Please help me!" her panicked stricken voice was enough for him to stand up and run towards her.
"Tashina?" he called out in the dark.
"Please I need to get to you. Help me!!" she screamed with deep fear laced in her tone as her entire shaked from the disturbing nightmare she was having.
Xavier noticed that she was still sleeping and quickly started shaking her shoulders excessively so she could wake up.
"Tashina, wake up. Come on, Just open your eyes, it's going to be fine"
She finally opened her eyes and her breathing became uneven, she sat up, clutching him tightly for air.
"Breathe, My love. Breathe" he rested his head on her forehead and blew small air into her mouth and slowly, her heavy breaths turned normal once again.
He rubbed her arms and brought her a cup of water from the nightstand to drink. He held the cup for her as she gulped it all down.
"Are you OK?" he asked with a deep frown.
The loud and booming thunder stroke the sky to leave a disturbing sound and she perked up in shock. He quickly hugged her and rubbed her back so she could calm down.
"It's alright. I am here, dear. Nothing is going to happen to you" he whispered into her ears and she held his torso so tight that there was so space in between them again.
"I.. I thought t-that you were mad at me?" she asked with a cracked voice.
"Of course not, darling. I wasn't mad at you. Mad at myself rather" he kissed her on her forehead as they sat on the bed, holding each other for safety.
"Do you want to talk about it?" he asked after some minutes of silence and she shook her head slightly to indicate her reluctance to narrate her nightmare.
"Alright, what do you want me to do for you then?"
She looked up at him, her jade-green eyes, blistering with unknown emotions, she concentrated in his eyes and her lips parted in surprise when she noticed something.
"I never knew your eyes glowed in the dark" she startled.
"Yeah, werewolves have great night vision, hence, the name, nightcreatures. Our eyes glow in the dark so we can deduct any danger from a far distance" he smiled but stilled when she brought her hands to touch his face.
"It's beautiful" she whispered and drew closer to examine his glowing eyes.
"You're beautiful" he whispered back and smiled when she looked down in shyness.
"Xavier?" she called him by his name for the first time and he was surprised and amused by it.
"Yes, my angel?"
"Tell me a story" she requested.
"Story? But I don't know any story and I am not really good at-"
She let go of him and climbed under the duvet with a sulking face. He quickly reached out for her, wanting to feel her warmth once again.
"Tashina?" he called but she didn't answer him and he sighed.
"Fine, fine. It's time for bedtime story" he said and rolled his eyes when she jumped up with excited eyes.
"You're a kid" he poked her nose playfully and she brought her tongue out just to prove his point.
"Come" he opened his arms and she entered into his broad arms with a small smile on her face.
Tashina has never been so close to a male before. She always thought she would feel disgusted with the touch and every other thing but she realized she was wrong.
She might have felt disgusted by other men's touches but definitely not Mr. Xavier. The more he touched her, the more she wanted to feel him.
She rested her head on his shoulder and he pushed them back to rest on the headboard with his hands securely around her waist.
"Once upon a time, there was a boy" he started.
"He was of royal blood so from birth, he never knew the word, hardship. He believed he could get anything he wanted with just a snap of his fingers"
"Why wouldn't he? When thousands of slaves were at his beck and call. He had everything but little did he know he actually had nothing at all. His mother hated the way her son was turning into an arrogant and conceited prince but no matter how many times she tried talking to her husband, he never listened"
"One day, his parents went on a business trip to a neighbouring Pack but never came back. And on that day, the little boy realized that he couldn't get everything he wanted. He had to go through so many pains and heartache with no one besides him"
"So he learned to be shut off, indifferent and cold, Just the way his father taught him that a true king should be. Smile, joy and happiness were stroke out of his dictionary and he learnt to live with the pain, to not show any weakness to anybody and that was how he survived through the years until he became all grown up and the most powerful king to ever rule"
"But still, his heart was bleeding with loneliness. From the outside, everyone envied him, believing he had everything when in reality, he had nothing. When love, joy and happiness were vividly missing, how could one have everything?"
"But on one fortunate night, he found a ray of sunshine, so bright that he had to hide it from everyone else because he knew that he wouldn't give it up for anyone. Slowly, the brightness from the ray started to rub off on him and he became more lively, more joyful and much happier"
"But what would happen to him if the ray of sunshine had to return its sun. Will he let it go or fight for it till the end of his life?" he ended with a question and looked down at the vampire in his arms.
Her peaceful, rhythmical voice filled the room and he stared down at her beauty. He gently pushed them both down, trying his best not to wake her up and covered them with the duvet.
With his arms around her slender waist and her head resting on his arm, he fell asleep with the lullaby of her breaths.
As the duo fell sound asleep in each other's arms, the sneaky weather outside changed and bright rays of sun shined down on them.
As though, the universe were giving them their blessings.
