Capítulo 20: A Broken Friendship

The car ride was silent as neither Wade nor Max spoke a word. Wade couldn't tell if Max was mad, but couldn't help but shake the feeling it was his fault that this happened.

"Did I mislead her? Maybe that why, but I haven't done anything that would indicate that I liked her,' Wade thought to himself. He knew it wasn't his fault, but that lingering thought in his mind bothered him.

"Do you want to come back to my house or do you want me to drop you off at your house?" Wade asked breaking the silence.

"Can I stay at your house? I don't want to go home and be reminded of this night when I wake up," Max said trying to hide the pain in his voice.

Wade could only listen while Max cried silently. It must hurt to know the girl you've had a crush on since kindergarten uses you to get to your friend.

Even if they felt betrayed they would have to get over that soon because Lydia was a witch and a banshee, she was a half breed that is only, and if the only person that is like her deserts her something bad would happen.

While Max was sulking, Wade decided that he wasn't going to sit there and watch his friend, no his brother cry in front of him. Wade slowed down the car but kept moving so he could connect his phone to the car.

Max noticed that they were going slower then looked to Wade who had a smile on his face and searching for something on his phone. When Wade found what he was looking for, he started driving just under the speed limit.

While Max was confused about what Wade just did, he didn't let him bother him because he had more moping to do. That when he heard it, a very familiar soft voice coming from the car.

Wade had put on Max's favorite song. He would always tell Wade that he didn't like the song, but would constantly listen to it when no one was around.

It didn't take long for Max to start tapping his foot and bobbing his head to the beat. As soon as the chorus started, Max didn't start singing it but Wade did.

He was glancing at Max because he knew his favorite part was coming up. Wade was about to start singing but Max jumped in.

"What a beautiful wedding, what a beautiful wedding, says a bridesmaid to the waiter. And, yes, but what a shame. What a shame the poor groom's bride is a whore," Max said then looking to Wade who only nodded his head.

"I CHIME IN WITH A " HAVEN'T YOU PEOPLE EVER HEARD OF CLOSING THE GODDAMN DOOR? NO, IT'S MUCH BETTER TO FACE THESE KINDS OF THIS WITH A SENSE OF POISE AND RATIONALITY," They both sang at the top of their lungs.

Max was now back to his cheerful self, he was laughing along with Wade like the night never went on. While Wade was distracted, Nasir sensed something vile and evil coming toward Wade.

"Wade, watch out, something is coming," Nasir said sounding worried. This alerted Wade because he never heard Nasir this worried or worried at all.

'Wild Sense'

Wade saw two purple auras closing in on him and Max. He stopped laughing and smiling which concerned Max.

"Max take the wheel, I need to do something," Wade said as he opened the window on top of the car and started to climb out.

"Wait what? What do you mean take the wheel? I'm not Jesus," Max said as he hopped over to drive the car.

As Wade was standing on top of the car, he sensed something from behind him and ducked down. When he looked up a knife was thrown at his head.

Wade created two balls of fire atop of his palms and shot them in the direction of the purple auras. With the purple auras still moving in, Wade concluded that his attacks didn't hit their mark.

As Wade was waiting for something to happen, he was tackled off the top of the car and onto the road. Whoever tackled him, Wade sent a stream of fire to their stomach which made them grunt in pain.

From the sound of the grunt, Wade concluded that it was a man that attacked him. Wade didn't know why people were attacking him, he could only come to one conclusion, Liv.

The other purple aura came up to Wade and grabbed him. Wade knew that in his human form he would never be able to defeat a supernatural. Wade closed his eyes which confused the two, but when he opened his eyes they glowed a bright red as Wade was able to break loose from their grip.

Wade slashed at the one who was grabbing him chest. The movement was s fast that even Wade was surprised by his speed.

Wade looked at his hand and saw a little bit of blood on his hand. He was confused until he looked at the man he hit. The man was wearing a thick vest that his claws were able to get through with little difficulty.

Even though the people in front of him had on masks, he could smell the fear coming from them. The people had on a black mask, black jacket, black pants, black shoes, and black gloves. This wasn't just a simple attack, someone planned this out.

Wade didn't know what their motive was, but he used their fear and distraction to his advantage as he slashed the person's throat. The blood gushed onto Wades' face as the other person looked in horror.

The person tried to escape by jumping into the trees, but Wade grabbed him by his ankle and slammed him to the ground. On impact, it made a small crater as the man let out a sound of pain along with blood spewing from his mouth.

Wade took off the mask to see a man with a mark on his left cheek. The man was bald and had no teeth with milky white eyes.

"Who are you and why did you attack me?" Wade asked as he put his claws on his neck.

"It's only a matter of time before he emerges and the boss will be there to steal him," The man said while laughing.

"What are you talking about? Is this boss the person who sent you after me?" Wade said trying to get any and every bit of information he could from him.

"Hehehe, you will never beat him unless you have the power of Sin. And, when you have that, no before that he's going to take him from you," The man said laughing again, not noticing he was telling his enemy their plans.

"Who is Sin and who will take what from me?" Wade asked feeling like he was getting closer to an answer.

"You will die," The man said as he spits blood in Wades' face. Before Wade could kill him, his body started breaking down as it decomposed into a nasty smelling liquid.

"Is this boss person the same person who sent Liv to gather information? And, probably sent these two to test my strength," Madara said to himself as he disappeared from where he was.

--------

"Damn it, Wade, always getting yourself into trouble. Ever since you got bitten and that demon entered your body, all sorts of crazy things have been happening. I wonder how much more we'll have to endure," Max said to himself while driving on the dark road.

"You know Max, I don't know either there are a lot of things we don't know, maybe in the future-" Wade said before getting cut off by the screams of Max.

After a few minutes, Max calmed down and put his eyes on the road.

"Are you done?" Wade said as his ears felt wet after Max got done screaming. When he put his finger in his ear, there was blood on his finger from how sensitive his ears were.

"Sorry, but where did you come from?" Max said as sounded surprised and excited at the same time.

"I ran, then got in through the roof window," Wade said pointing to the open window.

"But I didn't hear or sense your presence at all until you spoke," Max said getting worried because he could have killed him and wouldn't have known what did it.

--------

"How could I be such an idiot? He'll never talk to me again. I ruined the friendship with the only one who knew about this supernatural thing and the only one like me," Lydia said to herself while crying.

"I thought since we were similar, we would be together, but who am I kidding? This isn't some fairy tale. Again, I'm alone," She said as she felt she was being suffocated by darkness.

*Knock* *Knock* *Knock*

"Come in," Lydia said as she wiped the tears from her eyes. She felt like she was saved from eternal darkness.

"Are you ok, honey?" Lydia's mom said as she came in because she heard her crying from her room.

"Yeah, I'm just feeling sad," Lydia said.

"Why what's wrong?" Lydia's mom said as she sat down on her bed.

"I messed up, I ruined two friendships with the only people who truly understood me," Lydia said with tears streaming down her face again.

"Everyone makes mistakes, if they don't see that then were they your actual friends?" Lydia's mom said with no remorse.

"What? It's not their fault I messed up, it's my own. They were my friends and I ruined it," Lydia with an unknown pain in her chest.

"If they can't accept that you made a mistake and move on, they aren't your real friends," Lydia's mom said as she stroked her hair.

"Mom stop! This isn't on them, it's on me. Just please get out," Lydia said as she turned away from her mom.

"Ok, sweetie, goodnight," She said as she kissed her forehead and left.
