Capítulo 6: Chapter 5
Christmas is growing closer and so is the relationship of Diana and Sam as the love they have grown stronger by the day making every grown impatiently for the time they both confess to each other.
"It's snowing quite bad" Diana said looking outside seeing the snow falling hard outside of the only way in and out of the fire station for the vehicles.
"Yeah, but it's still beautiful and dangerous" Sam replied as penny waited patiently hoping that one of them makes a move showing hope of this relationship. "I bet I can clean the snow off the pathway quicker than you" Sam said again in a joking way as they both looked at each other.
"Sam, it's snowing heavily out there it's no use shovelling it when it'll come back seconds later" Diana said back pointing out as Sam 'oh' at the snow knowing that she was right. "You are amazing I tell you that but you can also be an idiot too but that's you" she said again before realising what she said right now leaving Sam shocked looking at her leaving her no choice. So she grabbed his collar pulling him closer to her allowing her to do what she wanted just for a second and in that second she kissed his cheek before heading to penny leaving the fire man shocked or surprised.
"She likes me" he quietly said to himself before seeing her go upstairs with penny to the staff room a bit embarrassed.
"I can't believe you just did that! You're making so much progress" Penny said excitedly before entering the staff room seeing everyone look at them and the expression Penny was making showing that something good just happened.
"By the look on your face I want to know what Happened Just now!" Ellie said eager to know what just happened as the others surrounding her wanted to know too.
Penny was able to sit down at the table as Ellie left a place for Diana beside her especially for this occasion.
"Wait she actually did it!!" Ellie said surprised before looking at Diana's embarrassed red face. "I'm proud of you girl" she said again hugging Diana proudly that she had this female as a crew mate.
"Careful you might squish her" Penny said with a chuckle and by their luck the bell went off leaving steals voice to come through.
"Fire at the floods house!" He said as Diana, Ellie, penny and elvis rushes downstairs waiting for instructions.
"Penny and Ellie I need you two to stay behind for this one leaving me with elvis and Diana" Sam said leaving those two at the station probably to make an idea to surprise not Sam but Diana too.
As they left penny, Ellie and the other firefighters began to make a plan for when those two come back from putting out that fire.
"Let's put it on top of the door when they walk in" Ellie said as penny looked up seeing the spot making it perfect before getting help to prep it up.
"There definitely will be a Christmas to remember at this rate but I wounder when they'll see it" penny said having second thoughts but no matter what their waiting will now become an end.
It didn't take long for Sam, Diana and elvis to return back since it was only a small fire due to a candle tipping off the side.
"You did amazingly out there and you two elvis" Sam said not leaving anyone out as they boot if their protected later of uniform before going upstairs after behind Elvis.
"You gotta say the snow was quite hard to go through" Diana said as her and Sam began to head upstairs in the direction of the staff room.
"Yeah but it was no problem for you though, that method really helped" Sam said as they got to the door allowing Sam to go through first stopping seeing everyone crowed at one table as Diana stood beside him.
"What's happening?" Diana asked confused as Sam looked up seeing the mistletoe before looking at Diana thinking of the choices.
"Look up" he said as Diana looked up seeing what he was on about giving her butterflies before looking at Sam. "It's up to you, but to be honest I was quite expecting this from you guys" Sam said at Diana before turning to face at his little crew who wanted him to make a move already.
"I, um" Diana was flustered and red showing that she wouldn't be the one making the first move after all since she did kiss him on the cheek so it's bed to return the favour.
"I'm gonna admit something.... I like you a lot and I wanted to tell you this for quite a long while now and I guess today is the day that I finally get this off my chest" Sam said confessing how he truly felt about Diana as she looked at him surprised.
"Wait, you like me?" She said confused a mostly insecure about herself a bit showing Sam that he has to make a move now as he got closer to her placing a hand on her cheek.
"You don't have to do this" he said solve he wasn't the type of guy to push himself onto anyone.
"I do want you to, but I also feel the same way too... what I'm trying to say is I love you" she said looking a Sam in the eyes as he smiled happily as he gently placed his lips against hers infront of everyone who were left in tears at this memorable moment of their cute couple ship finally being together.
"You go guys!" Ellie yelled cheering them on with everyone else who approves of the relationship between these two.
Minutes later Sam pulled away first not wanting to take long since they were in the fire station.
"I love you too" Sam whispered in Diana's ear bringing her into his loving embrace the type she hasn't had for a long time, she hugged back finally able to be with the man she loved so much.
After that little scene Sam was certain that the crew were gonna tell the others about them but he didn't mind at all as long as she isn't going to get hurt by it.
"Diana" penny said as Sam let her go out of the hug seeing her go to penny and the others allowing him to do whatever he was gonna do in the staff room with them.
"What's is it?" Diana replied back seeing the curious but also unsure look on their faces.
"We want to know your darkest secret if that's okay with you?" Ellie asked kinda serious about this one so Diana sighed knowing something not even her brother doesn't know.
"It's Craig, that crazy killing lunatic father of his.... he isn't the father of my boy. the man I had a one night stand is" Diana said confessing as everyone gasped as Sam choked on water shocked too.
"One night stand?" Sam said surprised that this was being brought up into this reminding him of something familiar.
"Yeah, every time I look at Craig I don't see him as the father it's always someone else and I don't know who" Diana said but as long as it wasn't the psycho everything will be fine but everything has been fine.
"I had a one night stand with someone a bit over 3 years" Sam confessed about having a one night stand with someone.
"So you think you're Craig's father? Your kinda overthinking it sam" Penny said thinking that it was just a coincidence that Sam had a one night stand over 3 years like Sam before Craig was born.
"That's not what He was saying but there could be a possibility" Ellie said supporting that fact that Sam did have a point.
"I don't know, I don't remember what he looked like since then it has been that long, but he was so gentle and my first time too" Diana continued having no problem talking about her one night stand to them like it was some story.
"Why don't you have a DNA test Sam if you're that curious...wait how come Craig looks more like Sam than her ex?" Penny said actually getting since when she first saw Craig he looked more like Sam than anyone else.
"Coincidence?" Ellie said not getting the picture since she hardly had the chance too to see Craig as much as Sam and penny.
"No, penny's right it's better to be sure than leaving it behind" Sam said looking at Diana really wanting to find out if Craig really was his own.
"You guys can go and leave the station to us until you come back" Penny said showing her support in sam's decision.
"But, pen—-" Sam didn't want to miss anything important or something that could cause any complications to the team while he was at thy w hospital.
"Don't but me! There's a kid in there that needs reassuring of who his real father is!" Penny yelled snapping Sam out of his daze and back into reality.
"You're right I'm sorry" he apologised to penny for even thinking that it could wait any longer.
"Diana, your brother is on his way" Penny said holding her phone with a text to her brother showing that is the way they'll be getting and from Newtown.
"Alright" she replied understanding the situation right now but the quicker the better.
Daniel was able to park his car nearby the station at the exit allowing sam and Diana to go through and hop in off to the hospital.
"You better know what your getting yourself into Diana" Daniel said Keelung eyes one the road quite serious about this but it was sam's idea.
"It wasn't my idea but I told them my darkest secret so it was kinda my fault" Diana said telling her twin about the little outbreak but it was a good one other like the others.
"I feel like I have a connection with Craig.... Daniel" Sam said not wanting to put Diana at full blame for this.
"I knew I should've introduced you guys way before..... before" Daniel said with a realistic growl clenching on the wheel as they grew closer to Newtown and regretting most of his decisions in the past.
"Hey, *whispers* remember" Diana said reminding her brother something that Sam doesn't even know about them.
"My apologies" he said clearing his throat entering the Newtown and straight to the hospital.
Daniel park in the parking lot and went inside with Diana and Sam just for support. They reach the reception desk to the lady that sits there.
"How can I help you?" She asked looking at the three of them as Sam looked at Diana.
"We are here so I can take a DNA test to see if I am a possible father to Craig miracle" Sam said speaking up holding Diana's hand as she grew a bit nervous.
"Sure, please take a seat" the lady kindly suggested as they all sat down in the waiting room to be called since they've been here before so their names are already day known by the desk and nurses.
"This is kinda pathetic really" Daniel Said to Diana who sat silently waiting for Sam to be called so she wouldn't have to argue with her brother about something little a DNA test.
"Stop, this is important than one of your pathetic tantrums about nothing so
Shut up or you'll be driving alone" Diana said snapping at her brother protecting her facts which was new for him seeing her so confident and forward.
"Diana" Daniel was shocked of the sudden response still holding Sam's hand knowing that she is safe.
"Samuel Peyton Jones" a doctor called causing Sam to stand up onto his feet bringing Diana with him.
"You go see your nephew, I'm bringing Diana with me" Sam said to Daniel before walking in the direction the doctor was showing him where he'll be doing the test.
"Stupid Sam telling me what to do!" Daniel complained while going up in the elevator to the floor Craig was on which was 7 before getting off thinking about the kid. "If he really is Sam's kid then.... no he can't I won't allow it" Daniel thought to himself walking to Craig's room with some uncertain thoughts and hands in his pockets that had some very unusually things inside.
He went past several nurses and doctors before going into Craig's room closing the blinds that were just behind the door showing that no one should enter without authority. Daniel looked down at Craig's unconscious body seeing what Penny was telling him about and why they wanted the test done today. it totally missed his attention went Craig's left eye struggling to open but as he struggled he saw his uncle hovering lifelessly over him pulling somethings from his pocket something shine and sharp looking which caused the monitor to beat incredibly fast scared of what he was going to do to him causing nurses to come rushing in not seeing the knife that Daniel put away in his pocket.
"His heart rate is increasing!" A nurse said as another pushed Craig out of the room leaving them to calm the kid down.
"What's happening!?" A women yelled rushing to Daniel before seeing that it was Diana who stood outside of Craig's room as Sam rushed after her seeing that the nurses were in his room.
"His heart was beating quite fast in there" Daniel said calmly not showing any remorse at all before looking at Sam.
"What?" Sam asked as Diana stayed in the middle waiting for the nurses to come out of the room with good news.
"So is he yours or not?" Daniel asked looking at him blankly hoping not or probably hoping it is, depends on which way his brain is thinking in this situation.
"We don't know yet, they'll let us know by mail" Sam replied confidently but worried for Craig since he was only 3 and in a very vulnerable state. A nurse came out shortly seeing the mother.
"He's stable and awake" she said bringing more Hope to Diana before allowing her into the his room to see him not on a ventilator anymore.
"Craig, you alright little pup" Diana said as Sam came into the room too seeing him awake and healing really well.
"He truly is a fighter" Sam said before standing beside her as Daniel stood outside of the room not happy at all realising that the kid actually does look more like Sam and had his eyes which his sisters ex didn't have.
"Mummy" he said with a sour throat girl the ventilator that helped him breath but the doctors and nurses will still keep an regular check on him.
"Shh, don't speak yet rest my little sunshine" Diana said caressing his hair softly showing how much she missed her little baby.
"It's a miracle" Sam said standing beside Diana again seeing Craig who seemed to look at him with worry but he was scared of him he was scared of something else.
Sam turned to the door seeing Daniel standing there not wanting to come inside his nephews room at all but he just stood there staring at him and Craig ignoring Diana like she wasn't even there.
"Do you think we should head back yet Sam?" Diana asked causing Sam to turn back to Diana with a slight of suspicion on his mind about her twin.
"What about Daniel?" He whispered to Diana as she looked at her brother then at Craig who seemed to look a bit off.
"We'll take him with us" she responded back since he was their drive back anyway but Sam had a little idea in mind.
"I need to speak to a doctor before we go" Sam said before exiting the room as Daniel watched him.
"Daniel, why don't you come and see Craig?" Diana asked not knowing anything just yet as Craig began to panic again seeing Daniel take a step closer to the door.
"Oh, it seems like Craig doesn't want me to come in" Daniel said pretending to act surprised and stayed outside of the room as Diana calmed Craig down again.
"Shh, Sam will be back soon don't worry" she said as Craig held tightly on her hand not wanting her to go so soon.
"Sir we need you to go now. Only two guests per patient, please wait in the waiting room" the doctor said as Sam went inside of Craig's room with a serious and worried face catching Diana's attention.
"Is everything alright?" Diana asked standing up to Sam worries if he was hurt or something but kept his cool.
"Don't worry I'm fine, I just had a chat with someone about putting a secret camera in here if that's alright with you..... I have some suspicions on who might be scaring your son" Sam said holding Diana's hands hoping that she noticed Craig's strange behaviour too.
"Anything for my son's safety" Diana responded giving consent for them to put a camera in his room in case the PD had to get involved.
"I promise I will protect Craig like he is my own no matter who the father is" Sam replied as he gave Diana a quick kiss peck before looking at Craig as a construction man put the hidden camera in the room out of eye sight.
"There it's done" the construction man said giving thumbs up to them showing that he succeeded in hiding the camera and keep it rolling 24 hours everyday.
"We'll be going champ, stay strong alright" Sam said going to Craig gently ruffling his hair and gently kissed his forehead before leaving the room with a thumbs up at the kid.
Back at the fire station nothing exciting happened much besides Norman getting stuck in a tree an all which was kinda funny since he said he was chased by sheep.
"I'm sorry Sam I'll be more careful next time" Norman said nervously as Sam chuckled ruffling his hair.
"It's alright Norman but next time don't go up a tree you could've fallen" Sam said giving the kid a piece of advice before allowing the kid to go home.
"That kid is a handful" penny said with laugh and Diana stood beside Sam with a smile knowing that things might never change in ponty pandy mainly because of Norman being a troublemaker allowing them to do their job as firefighters.
"Diana!" Malcom yelled waving catching her attention as he headed towards the fire station he seemed happy as always since he loved being a police officer.
"How's it going Malcolm?" Diana asked as they met each other allowing Malcolm to give her a letter.
"I'm doing great and oh, The doctor told me to hand you this" he said as she took the latter out of his hand seeing how freshly wrapped it was as Sam came behind her.
"What's that?" Sam asked as Diane gave him the paper allowing it look at the front of it.
"Hospital letter, I don't really want to open it but you can" Diana said as she headed back into the fire station before waving to Malcolm.
"It was quick with the results but, She gave you consent to open her letter, I hope it's good news though" Malcolm said with a laugh knowing something about the letter.
"Okay" Sam said nervously as he began to open the letter seeing the paper before slowly pulling it out seeing the results. "No, way" Sam said shocked as Malcolm put a hand on his shoulder.
"Congrats" he said before walking off to the station too as Sam was shocked looking at the paper before looking back at the fire station seeing Malcolm talking to penny but Diana wasn't there meaning she could be upstairs in the staff room with the others having a cup of tea. He rushed inside past penny and Malcolm and up to the staff room with paper in hand, opening the door seeing everyone chatting completely normally like everything is fine.
"Oh, hey Sam what's that?" Elvis asked pouting at the paper before catching the others attention as the tears couldn't be helped by Sam. Everyone was confused on why he was crying but he was smiling too about the paper he was holding.
"You alright Sam?" Ellie asked as Sam came in closing the door behind him looking straight at Diana.
"I'm the father" Sam said with joy causing Diana to short up and walk over to Sam seeing the paper and it said 'congratulations Samuel peyton Jones You are the father!' She couldn't believe her eyes at what she was seeing, was it a new hope it was it just luck.
"I don't know what to say, I'm shocked" Diana said completely uncertain of what to do but Sam did he hugged her tightly in his arms.
"I love you so much" he said as she hugged him back as the others clapped in the room congratulating the both of them.
"I love you too" she replied holding close too as something hidden for so long was finally revealed.
"That means you're a father now Sam" penny said coming in behind them with Malcolm as if they knew this before but right now sam has a son and a amazing girlfriend.
Sam was able to tell his brother the amazing news making him Craig's uncle now and blood relatives of Sarah and James too.
