"What?" we have stopped moving, but my head hasn't stopped spinning. In the moment, I can't tell if it is due to the champagne or what he just said. I am betting my money on both.

"Oui." His eyes are aflame as they bore into me, and I have to grab onto his biceps to steady myself. He is falling in love with me? I thought I would be the first one to say those words.
