"What? That's a lie," Faye couldn't believe what she heard. How could they spread lies like that? The image of her restaurant and herself can be ugly in the eyes of people, "I didn't fire the three of them for no apparent reason. They were the ones who decided to resign together."
"They confessed to me like that," said the woman nervously.
"I can show you their resignation letter and some witnesses if you don't believe it," said Faye, "what they're talking about is a lie. I've never fired someone for no reason."
"Very well, Madam Faye. I'm sorry."
"It's okay, Madam. I understand, you and I are not close, it's natural that you trust them more," said Faye calmly, "and regarding their release, I can grant it, but they will still be punished because the one who takes care of the case is Chief Charles, my uncle."
