"How do you think I got this scar?" Sol said with a smile that contained no humour. "And there were three of us for just one of it… That was in my greener days though. I'd like to think I'm a good deal stronger now."

"They don't seem to have noticed us yet," Harkin said, surveying the camp. "We at least can surprise them… But the question is, how best do we go about it?" He noticed Pash as he said that and gestured with his head for him to come nearer. "Have a look lad."

Pash did as he was told.

Goblins. A harsh sounding word, with an undertone of disgust. It fit those creatures perfectly.

They were green-skinned, that was the first thing Pash noticed about them. Their limbs were twisted and grotesque, as though they had all been born with some sort of disability. They stood half the height of a man, with arms the same length as their bodies, so they knuckled the ground as they walked.
