"Ros-, Rose- ROSALIE!!!!" Paul pushed against Giovanni's chest as he frantically looked around for Rosalie, but there was no sign of her causing concern to grow bigger and bigger within him.
"Gio, honey, please calm down, Rosalie is alright, she's upstairs sleeping," Melody said as she grabbed onto the sides of his face that gathered cold sweat as Giovanni's face turned ice pale.
"And Genesis, he's alright, right, I-
Giovanni began rambling in fear and as he started choking on his words, Melody looked beside him, which he then followed before his eyes landed on his injured brother. Tears gathered in Giovanni's eyes as he collapsed onto Melody's shoulder with his eyes glued to his brother. His body began shaking as broken sobs escaped from his lips.
"I was too late, he called for me and I came late," he cried as Melody caressed his hair trying her best to not also break down and cry, "It's not your fault, sweetheart, you did everything that you could," she said as he continued to cry, "They made me watch, he made me watch as they beat and hurt him without mercy, and I was weak, I couldn't even protect my own flesh and blood, just like our father," he weeps causing Melody to pull back with a disappointing look on her face, "Don't you ever say that again, James' death was never your fault, you were just a child, and this, Genesis's injuries wasn't your fault either, the most important," she said, caressing his cheek, "The most important is that you went to his aid, you never once abandoned him, he called for you and you came, and you know what's that?" She asked as Giovanni looked into her eyes as his body calmed.
"Strength, courage, and bravery, because it's easier to walk away from a difficult situation, a situation that we have no control over, and you were so brave, sweetheart, and I'm so proud of you, and your parents are so proud of you," Melody said as she broke down towards the end causing Giovanni to wrap his hand around the back of her neck before pulling her forward to rest their foreheads together.
"I love you," Giovanni said as he draws in a deep breath, "I love you so much," he said before kissing her forehead, "I love you too, both of you," she said before pulling away as Benjamin wheeled to sit by her side causing Giovanni to turn to him.
"I thought I failed you both," he said as tears filled his eyes, while Giovanni silently stared at him, "You didn't," Giovanni said breaking the silence as Benjamin looked at him, "This one incident doesn't mean that you failed us, Ben, after our father died, you shed so much light into our dark lives, gave us love, protection, food, you thought us and made us into the men that we are today, we're happy, and if we had died, then you would have completed your mission because we would have died happily," Giovanni said as the tears in Benjamin's eyes rolled down his face before he nodded, "Melody is right, we are proud of you," he said as Giovanni nodded before looking towards the stairs.
"I saw her, she's so beautiful, Ben," Giovanni said as a smile formed on both Benjamin's and Melody's faces, "She came after us and fought against Marcus," he said before frowning in concern as he turned to Melody, "Was she injured?" He asked, as Melody's face dropped, "Just a few bruises, but she's so scared, Gio," she replied, causing a gut-kicking expression to appear on Giovanni's face before he frowned in confusion.
"But how did we get back here, did she bring us back?" He asked, frowning at the small smiles that appeared on Melody's face, "They brought you back," she said, nodding behind him as Giovanni turned around to see Paul and Cleo, who nodded and smiled at him.
"You brought us home?" He asked, knowing that Paul and Cleo's family doesn't like or meddle with the Gracias, "Thank you," he said as Cleo's smile widen, "You're welcome, we were playing in the area and had to do something," Paul said as Giovanni nodded, "Thank you again, you saved our lives," he said as Paul nodded before looking towards Benjamin and Melody.
"We should probably get going, our grandfather would begin to feel worried if we don't head home," he said as Benjamin nodded before Melody rushed out of the living room and into the kitchen causing Benjamin to shake his head, "This woman," he mumbled before Melody came hurrying back, "Here, please take this, I made them earlier, and thank you once again," she said, offering a container of cookies, which Cleo took with a smile on her face.
"Thank you, Mel," she said before she and her brother left, "You, mister, should get some rest," Melody said with her hands on her hips as Giovanni and Benjamin grinned, "Yes, mama bear," Giovanni teased before laying down with a grunt as Melody immediately helped.
"Comfortable?" She asked as Giovanni nodded before Melody kissed his forehead, "I love you, okay, I'll change your bandages when the sun comes up," she said before Giovanni watched as she went to Genesis to do the same.
"I love you, guys," he said as Melody pushed Benjamin out of the living room, "Love you too, son" Benjamin said before they left. Giovanni sighed, getting more comfortable before he looked towards his brother, "I love you, bro, just please don't leave me," he said before his eyes grew heavy and he fell asleep.
…
Rosalie had woken up at the crack of dawn feeling much better. Her body no longer felt sore and her mind was at peace. Standing up from her bed, she stretched as the popping sounds of her bones cracking and relaxing filled the room. Sighing heavily, Rosalie dragged herself to the bathroom, where she turned on the pipe to fill the tub. Walking to the sink, she placed her both hands on either side before looking into the mirror at herself.
She looked different. Her skin looked healthier as well as her hair. Her senses seemed to be heightened as she quickly caught sight of the fly that zoomed past her face and her body felt stronger, both physically and mentally.
The events from earlier this morning with Melody came flooding into her mind as she sighed. She believed that she may have overreacted and felt scared, but now she was willing to listen and find out what she truly is.
"Kamari?" She softly called in hopes of not scaring away the voice that gives her a sense of security and calmness, "Good morning, Rosalie," Kamari greeted as a small smile appeared on Rosalie's face, "I'm sorry for earlier," Rosalie apologize as a calming sensation flowed through her body, "It's alright, I understand that this sudden change is overwhelming, but Benjamin will explain, and I promise you'll love this side of you, as your parents did," she said as Rosalie shook her head, "It all makes sense now, the stories, the lost memories, they're all coming back now," She said as Kamari hummed, "That was a side effect of me waking up," she said as Rosalie frowned, "What do you mean?" She asked, "Why don't you get in the tub and I'll tell you," she said as Rosalie nodded before stripping from her clothes.
Once Rosalie had settled into the tub, Kamari began explaining, "You're not like any normal Lycan wolf, Rosalie, normally, a person, who has Lycan blood running through their veins recognizes or acknowledges their inner wolf at the age of ten years old," she said as Rosalie leaned back listening, "But I didn't, I only found out yesterday," she said, "Exactly, which is what caused me to fall into a deep slumber, which takes a lot of strength to wake up from," she said as Rosalie frowned, "Where did you get the strength to wake up?" She asked as Kamari sighed.
"I got it by feeding off of you, so memories that a normal person would remember, like their childhood, some of yours were pushed to the furthest part of your mind until you fully acknowledge and accept your inner wolf and the new person that you've become, which is my awakening," she said, when all of a sudden, Rosalie began to feel sleepy before a familiar voice that caused her heart to skip a beat began calling out to her.
"Rosalie?" They called as her eyes grew heavier and heavier until they shut as her lips mumbled.
"Daddy?"
