(Cole's P.O.V.)
Sadly, I had to go to training alone today. Since Penelope started training, it's made it more interesting and fun to train. She made it a competition and she was someone who could match my skill in most of the training exercises except strength. But she was too sore to come today. I guess that's my fault though, so I can't complain. I ran my warm-up laps, without the thrill of racing Penelope. Moe caught my attention, puffing from finishing his laps.
"Cole, where's your lady friend? It's always funny to watch her beat you." He began a conversation with me.
"Oh yeah, she was too sore to come today. If you know what I mean?" I smirked at him.
"Oh really? Had a little fun then." He laughed walking away from me.
I sure did have fun. I smiled to myself, remembering Penelope looking into my eyes with those darling panda eyes filled with so much adoration towards me. It made me feel like superman. Just the way she looks at me, sends me to the moon. Like I said training was pretty boring, without Penelope challenging me. I've always naturally been the best in the pack at everything because of my status. Once training was finished, I was more than ready to get back and spend time with Penelope; to see how she's doing as well. I got back to headquarters and straight up to my room. She wasn't there. Maybe she just got bored and decided to go do something? I shrugged it off and took a shower. I then went back downstairs. Still no sign of her. I stuck my nose in the air, taking a big whiff of my surroundings. I could smell Penelope from the kitchen. But you know who else I could smell? Aiden. I growled under my breath, not even trying to hide it. I made heavy steps towards the kitchen, making sure they could hear me coming. In the kitchen, Allison, Caroline, Collin, Penelope and Aiden stood staring at me. My eyes looked at Penelope then towards Aiden. I did not like him. When Penelope was ignoring me, she was around him all the time, keeping her away from me, smothering her in scent.
"Cole?" I turned back towards Penny, "What's wrong?" I looked back towards Aiden and straight back towards her eyes.
"Oh dude, no need to be jealous. Nothing is happening between us. Right now." Aiden mocked me. I growled at him furiously, grabbing the collar of his shirt.
"Cole! Stop!" Penelope tried to pull him away from him but she wasn't strong enough. I heard Aiden chuckle under breath. I moved my hand from his collar and around his neck, blocking his airway. Nobody goes near my mate.
"Cole, stop right now!" Penelope's voice boomed louder than I had ever heard from her. I looked back at her and her eyes were furious. She cared about Aiden. That made me so mad; soo angry. I slowly let go of Aiden's neck and he gasped for air. "Go to your room and cool down. You are acting ridiculous!" She yelled at me like I was a child. I widened my eyes at her. "I said go." She pointed her finger at the door.
Now, I was mad at her. I picked her up and threw her over my shoulder. She yelped but I ignored it. I carried her up to my room, throwing her on my bed and slamming the door. She looked at me; fright filled in her eyes.
"You," I pointed at her, "Don't me what to do." I growled at her. "Don't go near him anymore." I demanded.
"And why do you get to tell me what to do?" She sassed up. I went near her and lifted her chin up to me forcefully.
"Because I don't want what's mine to be near another guy." I could see my eyes glowing in the reflection of hers. I shook my head, wearing the effect off and looked back at her. She looked disgusted at me.
"Just because I'm your mate, doesn't mean you can treat me like an object." She huffed turning away from me, disappointed. I looked down in shame.
"I-i'm sorry. I just want to protect you." I softened my voice.
"From what?!?" She turned to me, raising her voice.
"From other males." I retorted.
"You don't trust me to distance myself from other males?"
"You don't distance yourself from Aiden. I'm starting to think you want him too, by the way you protect him." I sighed. I was jealous. She looked away from me.
"He was there for me when you hurt me." She said sadly.
My blood boiled. I needed to distance myself before I did something I'll regret or I did something to hurt her again. I huffed and walked out of the room, slamming the door shut.
"Cole!" I heard her call my name. I growled and yelled out of frustration. I felt her body lean against my back.
"I'm sorry, ok?" I said trying to calm down but it didn't come across that way.
"I know. I am too." She hugged me from behind. "Just please don't be angry anymore." I could tell she was on the verge of tears.
I turned around and wrapped my arms around her tightly. She started to sob and I rubbed my hands against her back.
This chapter is extremely short but I just wanted to say thank you! I woke up this morning with 2.5K views on this novel and I was just soo shocked. I never thought soo many people would see my story. This is a boost of confidence I really needed because I retook a test yesterday and I got a lower grade than what I had gotten before and the final grade is an average of the two grades I made so I lowered my grade and made me very sad.
Anway, thank ya'll again. This is a blessing to me.
