I swam toward the hateful, rising sun. Except for one shark, there were no incidents.

I panicked, of course. I hadn't seen a shark on my [Beast Sense]. I had seen and heard nothing to make me think I was in danger.
<Bleh!> She said. <Oh gods, I was WRONG.> she said, fleeing faster than I could follow without engaging an ability. <Oh, oh, it tastes TERRIBLE.>
I know, so much for my self confidence.
<How bad?> one of the other girl-sharks asked.
She broadcast her sense of [Taste.]
Ammonia, check. Bile, check. Proteins for spider venom, check. Phenol, check. I mean, all the stuff that normally goes into my blood was there. I mean, I was low on iron from how much I'd bled out the night before, but...

Mike_Kochis I cut a chapter, maybe a chapter and a half from the outline here. His journey was supposed to be longer, and seem harder. BUT I realized... Rhishi wouldn't talk about that. Not to some scribe, in any case.
But.. such things are part of my writing style. Characters do their thing, and I discover it as I go. (Pants-er writing style. The other is deterministic, which I try sometimes, but honestly, the former is closer to how I actually write.)
