Which in exchange, allowed the hero's tail to swiftly poke forwards. Such a procedure would normally take away a lot of his balance, but right now he was forcing all of the surroundings to produce a different result.

All of the hero's back muscles twitched and stretched for the sake of embracing the attack that was being unleashed.

And once the little boy's barb had been punched forward enough, he decided that it was time to continue with the second step of this move.
