Capítulo 304: Dominance (1)

"I was sent by Being Y to lead you against the steam trains. Denying me entrance to this camp goes directly against your creator's will!"

That will show them! Dungeon masters are the peak of all existence inside the dungeons. They control everything and working directly for them should naturally give me some perks.

"Being Y? Creator? Who that? We no listen to anyone but shaman. Shoo, shoo, you no welcome here!"

I'm being shooed away? How can this idiotic creature not know its creator?

{Being Y likes to keep things on the down low. Except for a few bosses and even fewer ruins, you'll find no mention of his name inside the dungeon. He believes that monsters should develop freely and not based on faith in their master.}

And there goes all the effort I just wasted to talk my way through this. Well, the orc did mention a shaman who leads them so that's a direction to work toward.

"Call your shaman then, I have something to discuss with him."

"Me no call shaman! Shaman busy! Go away!"

It tries to swat me away with his rusty cleaver but I deflect is and easily place a dagger against its throat.

"Call your shaman!"

The orc looks defiant and I brace for it to do something stupid. However, its eyes suddenly look past me as a loud huff attracts its attention. Its eyes widen quickly as it scrambles back. Looks like someone finally noticed my big scaly and scary escort who isn't to pleased that things aren't progressing.

The orc calls out in a somewhat weak voice as it takes a few tries for others to hear and come running. Great, we have the attention of the entire camp now.

Monsters in dungeons don't fight but I'm pretty sure they can. They usually just don't fight because the dungeon masters influence them to subconsciously avoid it. In a direct conflict they will absolutely attack someone they view as an aggressor.

"Blood, if they are dumb enough to attack, feel free to massacre them."

"With pleasure!"

A horrible sense of intimidation surges from Blood as she stares down the approaching orcs. They slow and warily eye Blood. They don't seem to think much of me but Blood presents as a clear threat.

"Why do you attack our camp. We do not wish to fight you."

Blood deflates like a balloon that had a hole pierced into it. Navi probably told her that unless the orcs initiate the conflict she isn't allowed to murder them.

Meanwhile, I am very happy. Finally, someone who can talk normally and should therefore be decently intelligent!

A hunched-over orc with tattoos and a totem staff approaches. However, I am apparently not the focus of the shaman's words. It must be thinking that Blood is the mastermind here and I'm just some minion. Blood of course has no intention of answering and since the shaman is ignoring me, I'll just let him try.

"Why do you remain silent? Do you have a grudge with us?"

"Hmpf, talk to Guy, he calls the shots here. I'm just following him hoping to get in some nice killing."

The orc shaman shivers and turns to me.

"You are this Guy?"

"I am."

"Then tell me, why have you come to attack our camp."

"I've done no such thing. I came to recruit your camp for a mission I'm doing related to the recent machinations of those adventurers. However, that guard of yours refused to let me meet you and tried to chase me away. Since you refuse to do the dungeon master's bidding, I might just let Blood have fun with you."

Navi, please let Blood know that I don't mean what I say. I dont want her to get too excited before being let down again.

{She already knows. She's surprisingly perceptive if she isn't too busy thinking about what she can sink her fangs into next.}

Phew, that's one concern less.

The shaman gives Blood another long, measuring look. He's probably estimating the chance of Blood being capable of actually wiping them out by herself. I did challenge their might by hinting that Blood could take them all. It's only natural for the shaman to hope it's a bluff.

The thing is, that statement was no bluff. I recall what my instructor's assessment skill showed me when I first saw Blood and shudder.

It's not even her stats, I mean they are high, but her skills that make her scary. Contrary to most subdragons, she's not geared towards single combat. In fact, most opponents stronger than her stand a decent chance to take her down.

Blood is geared towards group combat. And I don't mean that she's in a group. I mean that she can absolutely devastate even large groups of opponents so long as they are individually weaker than her.

Her area of attack capability is off the charts. With her tail whip venomous mist breath and blood magic, she can cover both short and mid range distances. And if she does get attacked, her hardened scales provide an extra layer of protection while her blood stealing constriction gives her a convenient source of healing.

In short, based on the orcs I see present, they would lose.

Evidently, the shaman reaches the same conclusion as he frowns and adopts a more humble attitude.

"We meant this dungeon master of yours no disrespect. However, our creator is incredibly powerful and you should not take him lightly!"

"And who is this creator of yours? Have you ever met him?"

"He made this entire place but he does not wish to manifest here."

"Sigh… this place is a dungeon and its creator is the dungeon master. I am here in direct orders of your creator so dont threaten me with his name that you do not even know!"

"Our creator does not wish to interfere with the creatures of his dungeon. How could you do his bidding!"

Navi, I'm going to need Being Y to give these idiots a sign that I'm on a mission for him or I swear I'll do something he will not appreciate!
