"Now now, no need to be mad at me. I did you a favor in holding back so you could survive and learn a skill. Do you know how arduous it felt to hold back on sucking you dry? Your blood is exquisite. The blood of a pure, young virgin is the most intoxicating thing in this world. Mind letting me have another taste? I promise I'll hold back so you won't die."
She wants more? Like hell!
I want to struggle and somehow get out of Valeria's grip but then I feel the adrenaline from getting bit before disappearing and leaden tiredness assaults me. All strength leaves my body like someone opened a drainage pipe.
Is it the blood loss combined with the aftereffect of activating sanguine boost? My thoughts too become heavy and I sink into a cloud of fluffy white. Valeria sees what's happening and her eyes glaze over before a red gleam takes over.
"Looks like I'll be getting my second serving!"
A cruel smile appears on her face as her eyes become died increasingly red, illuminating the dark room with an unsettling red light. That must be the blood frenzy vampires are known for. Will she be able to hold back in this state?
Valeria's face slowly descends angled to bite into my neck from the other side. I hear soft knocking on the door behind us then it swings open and blinding light rushes into the room.
My vision becomes clouded but I somehow manage to tip my head back a little to see who entered.
I see light green and higher up there is a blotch of gold. But the light is too bright for me to see anything else with my blurred vision.
"Valeria! I told you to only drink once, no more! And why did you have to go into a blood frenzy?"
"It's just a bit of blood! Just one more sip, she'll be fine. If I overdo it she will just be respawned so what's the problem? Her blood tastes too good to be wasted!"
"Sigh, you need to be taught a lesson on how to conduct yourself. Darwin is always so lax when it comes to discipline so I'll just have to pick up the slack."
Is that Navi's voice? Valeria's grip on me suddenly loosens. Then her hands cramp up before being pulled away. I awkwardly sink to the floor.
"Ah, Navi! Not the ear, please not the ear. That area is sensitive if you grab it like that it will tear off."
"That's the whole point. If you don't feel pain nothing will go into your bloodsucking idiot head. I am not your mother so why do you act like a child. I told you, no drinking people unless I allow it and only as much as I allow you."
"But it tastes so good!"
"I don't care how good it tastes. You can get tasty food from Pata and if you need more blood for sustenance you know where to go. Now stop making excuses and go clean yourself."
A set of footsteps unsteadily leaves the room. Soft hands lift my head from the ground and place it on a soft pillow. The sensation is heavenly! A blurred face leans over. Since it's closer now I can make out that the gold I saw before is just blond hair. Is it an angel?
"How nice of you to think of my thighs as a heavenly pillow and of me as an angel. I hate to disappoint but it's just me, Navi. Now, thinking is probably difficult for you but can you do one tiny thing for me? Please open your status."

Navi firmly places her soft hands on either side of my head and with a snap, the lights go out and my body loses all feeling.
Navi just snapped my neck and killed me. She really just killed me. How for flip's sake am I supposed to deal with this?

The void around me is a gaping nothingness that yearns to be filled but never will be fulfilled in its entirety. I float through this emptiness until an ever so faint tug brings me back to my body and I open my eyes again.
I have been returned to my bed where I had only just woken up not too long ago. The only real difference from last time is that I have a new skill and a distinct fear of letting Valeria get behind me.
Blood magic, huh. Sounds like it would fit me but how will that give me a strong attack against the crimson bear? Navi, can I get a refund If I'm not satisfied with the skill?
