Capítulo 9: Different breed
My body is screaming in pure agony. My sanguine boost collapses and the little strength I have remaining washed away in the ocean of suffering.
But it isn't over yet. The armored lizard looks at me with eyes burning with hatred. It bites into my other arm and tears that one off as well. It looks at my legs but decides otherwise. I release a sigh of relief thinking it will kill me but it just walks towards the back of the cavern after having lost interest.
Is it going to let me lie here waiting for death to slowly claim me? I try to summon the last embers of power within me to yell at it, taunt it, anything to have it finish me, and end the pain. However, before I can make a sound the lizard comes running back, passes me, and charges into the tunnel.
Now there is no hope for me to be saved from slowly dying. I'm all alone in this cavern and the pain isn't going away. The only thing I can do to distract myself is to repeat three names over and over and over.
Alain, Louis, Thomas. Alain, Louis, Thomas. Alain, Louis, Thomas. Alain, Louis, Thomas.
I will kill you!
After some time the agony lessens and I start to feel cold. I am dying, waiting for the light at the end of the tunnel to appear so I can find whatever god sits there, break his neck, and return to get my revenge.

So you really were after my soul. Take it then but don't forget about my revenge.
My mind stirs awake as the unconsciousness is lifted from it like a dark veil. I remember what happened and anger grabs hold of me again. I was promised a chance for revenge and I will have it.
I attempt to clench my fists but the feeling is... weird. I don't have any real feeling in my hands. Are they still ripped off?!!
I try to sit up but my body doesn't work the way it's supposed to. Everything feels wrong and I don't understand what's going on.
<Jade Kings, please calm yourself. We are detecting strong emotional fluctuations from you.>
I don't have arms? How am I supposed to get revenge without my arms? You tricked me!
<We did no such thing. And to answer your question about what you can take revenge with, how about using those fangs you got. But not now, you are too weak to do anything at the moment. I'm busy adjusting your configuration so just open your status and you'll see for yourself.>
I don't get what that voice is talking about but since opening my status is supposed to give me answers I'll do just that.

Level 1? White snake? And what's with those bullshit stats? Okay, calm down Jade. This isn't as bad as it looks and I'm sure there is a logical explanation for all this. And most importantly I am not disabled so I can take my revenge!
But where are my skills? The only thing I retained is my enhanced stamina. This can't be! I worked so hard to become a sanguine swordsman and it's all gone? I won't accept that!
I concentrate hard and try to forcefully activate my sanguine boost skill. I may not have the skill anymore but I had it and remember how it felt to activate the skill.
The familiar feeling of my blood boiling appears but then a splitting headache assault my mind. Then my whole body feels like it's being cut by knives.
<Whatever you just did, it worked. You've gained multiple skills and some of them fused with your present ones. Also, your species has changed. Wait a little longer so we can finish up then you can ask all your questions.>
My status changed from that? Did I get back all my skills? I quickly open my status again.

I got my sanguine boost back! Albeit only at level one. My other skills had also all changed and received interesting prefixes. I can make this work.
Curiously my stats have also increased from horrendously shitty to very below average.
Before I can try out any of my new skills my consciousness fades again leaving me a little pissed. Can't I have a single moment without something major happening?
I wake up on a bed in a white room. I have arms again and can stand up without a problem.
What happened this time?
Before I can further continue this thought the door to the room opens and a lady enters. She has luscious white hair, crimson eyes, and immaculate pale skin. I have to find out what skin product she uses.
"Hi there, cutie! Welcome to VR dungeons HQ, we hope you enjoy your stay. Now please come with me so I can bring you to meet the chairman."
Did she just call me cutie? And why did that sound so sexy?
