Capítulo 12: Mystery Boys
As soon as Anthony got home, he ran towards his room until his father caught him.
"Why are you running?" His father asked.
"I have a cool project I have to do, and I wanna start on it right away, " Anthony said.
"I never seen a child excited over a school project before, " he said.
"Well this kid is, and I have to get on it right away, " Anthony said.
When Anthony entered his room, he hurried and closed the door and locked it. He darted and jumped on his bed, and picked up the house phone lying on his chest dresser. He began dialing his cousin's house number. Anthony thought his cousin was at home around the time he got in around 7:00pm. The phone rang twice and it picked up.
"Hello?" His cousin answered.
"What's up Juke?" Anthony said.
"What's up lil man, why are you calling me on a school night?" Juke asked.
"I need a favor, " Anthony said.
"What kind of favor?" Juke asked.
"I got school project I'm working on and my friend need a fix up on an abandoned building spot, it's like an architectural project we doing. I was thinking to ask you could you help us on that? and we promise we will pay you, " Anthony said.
"Where is this place at?" Juke asked.
"It's on 78th S. Cottage Grove Street, " Anthony informed.
"That's not far, what day you was talking about?" Juke asked.
"What day are you free?" Anthony asked.
"On the weekends, like a Saturday, " Juke said.
"A Saturday sounds too perfect, so how much you talking?" Anthony asked.
"How much do you have?" Juke asked.
"Me and my boys was go give in on it, so how much you thinking?" Anthony asked.
"Since you my lil cousin, y'all can give me $350," Juke said.
"Okay, me and my boys will go half on it, thanks cuz, " Anthony said.
"No problem, call me the day before to remind me to come cause I do be having a lot on my plate, you know I got Malik and Nia running around, so just remind me, " Juke said.
"You bet I will, " Anthony said.
"Okay, take care yourself, " Juke said kindly.
"Okay, you too, bye, " Anthony said hanging up the phone.
