When they reached her parents’ house, Chloe was so nervous that her hands were sweating. Evan parked the car and glanced at her.

“Are you ready?”

“Yes, yes!” her nervousness was palpable.

Evan smiled and held her face with both hands, making her look into his eyes.

“Everything is going to be fine. They are your parents. And I’m here for you.”

He glued their lips in a soft and gentle kiss.

“Thank you.” she said as she broke the kiss and opened her eyes.

The next few moments were of pure joy for Chloe. While she hugged and cried with her parents, Evan stood a little further away, leaning against the car, just watching.

“Mom, dad, I need to introduce you to my boyfriend. Please, treat him well! He’s such a nice guy.” Chloe warned while signaling Evan to go to them.

“This is Evan and they are Jane and Carlos.”

“Nice to meet you, Mr. and Mrs. Rodriguez.” Evan said politely.

“It’s a pleasure to have you here, Evan! Come on in, the lunch is ready!” Jane said happily.
