Alex and Tom made it back to the base in one piece. They crowded into the community room just as Jimmy stood on a table. Ronson stood at his side.

"Everyone, please calm down," Jimmy shouted. The voice sounded muffled through Alex's bleeding ears, but the she could make out most of what he said.

Everyone quieted but murmurs still coursed through the room.

"Please, everyone." Ronson's strong calming voice washed over the people. "There was an explosion at the cavemen's base. We believe it was delivered by people in the Undersea."

"Why?"

"Who are they after?

"Are we safe?"

Questions from the crowd turned into noisy chaos.
