Katie crossed her legs impatiently and then uncrossed them again, tapping her shoe against the floor. She glanced down and wondered if she should run up to the master suite and change her shoes. She'd chosen the black and red Louboutins with the metal silver heel that finished in a tiny snake slithering along the side of the shoe. Maybe they were too much? She wore them in honour of Roman's revenge. Today was the day he'd hunted down the last Ramirez.

She'd paired the shoes with a sexy little black dress with spaghetti straps. It landed mid-thigh and, though it hugged her body like a sheath made specially for her, it was also loose enough to be easily removable. Katie was learning quickly that if her clothes weren't accessible, then her barbaric husband would either tear or cut them away depending on his level of patience that day.
