Capítulo 6: The offer, and the Sight.

978 AD: 14 Years

Two weeks later, Loki and I, were called to the Throne room, at sharp noon. Reaching the High doors, we wait for the All Father to call upon us.

I turn to Loki and ask, "Do you know what this is about? And where's Thor? Shouldn't he be here too?"

Loki shrugs his shoulders, and answers, "No idea, brother. I haven't seen Thor since the morning."

Huh. That's weird. Odin doesn't normally separate us siblings unless he can help it, or if Thor does something "Praise worthy", I wonder what he's called us for.

The guards standing at the door suddenly stand in attention, and a voice from the inside calls out, "Presenting to you, Prince Baldur Odinson, and Prince Loki Odinson."

We walk inside, a little peeved, because this is actually only about a third time that we've been formally presented to the throne room. Whatever it is, is serious.

Once inside, I see a 7 feet tall Odin standing near his throne, talking with a 11 foot tall "Dwarf", who is actually a giant compared to us.

"Come, my sons. Dwarf King Eitri, let me formally introduce my sons to you. Baldur, my second born, and Thor's twin brother. And Loki, my third born son. Baldur, Loki, this is King Eitri of Nidavellir." Odin says, introducing us to the King.

Damn! So he's the one that made Mjolnir for Hela! Hey, I told you my memory is quite good now!

We bow to the King of Nidavellir, low enough to show respect, but high enough to show we aren't subservient. But if you ask me, any bow would be a low bow to a tall being like him.

"Well met, King Eitri!" We chorus and wait for his greetings.

Eitri stays silent, observing us, from top to the bottom. He nods and turns to Odin, "I'll make them. But they'll have to come to Nidavellir and stay there until it is done. I'll have to custom make them, so I'll need them close."

Loki looks at me confused, but I'm a bit excited, and widen my eyes, that being the only sign I realized what they mean. Loki, not liking the suspense, asks Odin, "Forgive me, Father. But.. what exactly is 'they' that the King is offering to make?"

Eitri snorts and grumbles, "Not patient, but at least polite. Boy, I'm going to be making weapons for you and your brother! And be gracious, I don't forge weapons for anyone."

Loki, now understanding the situation, widens his eyes, but then squints them and asks, "What about Thor, shouldn't he be here too?"

I snort, Odin smiles, while Eitri laughs loudly. Odin explains, "Thor has already met with us this morning, and he received a weapon of our choice, from the Treasure Vault. It fits him, so he's agreed to use it. He's currently in the training grounds, getting used to the weapon."

Loki nods, satisfied with the situation. So I ask, "Forgive me, King Eitri, but are you going to personally forge our weapons?"

Eitri nods. Odin smiles at us and explains, "We have a deal between us, Eitri and I. You don't need to worry about it yet. For now, simply start packing your things. You'll leave two days from now, and will be living on Nidavellir for about..." Odin looks at Eitri in question.

Eitri answers for Odin, saying, "One month. You'll stay with me for One month. That's how long it'll take to make the weapon. You can train with my children at Nidavellir if you need to, so don't worry about it."

We nod and leave the Throne, to go towards our rooms, both of us excited. I quickly go to my room, to pack everything I might need, and more, and put it in my pocket dimension, which mother finally taught us to make!

It was not that difficult to make actually. There is a spell in Asgardian language, invoking the Cosmic force, that forces the space to bend within itself, and make a.. box? Probably. And it grows with the proficiency of the user!

The Pocket Dimension does not have an entry point for the user to get into, at least not yet, as I'm a noob, as it is. But the user can freely use it to store and bring out anything stored in the Dimension. Let's simply call it PD for now.

Now, the main part is, the user has to have complete control over his own Magic, which both I and Loki had managed when we were about 12-13, and then focus that magic on his hand, holding the thing you want to store, while thinking about storing the object in the PD. As I've seen, a wormhole opens up, sucking the thing inside. The process is the same to pull anything out.

And you know the most amazing feature? The PD is timeless. Meaning anything you store inside does not age. Not even a bit! So if I store an apple, it won't rot. Or if I store a human, they won't age. They'll have full awareness, and know that they are in an enclosed space, but they won't be able to move.

It's good for imprisoning someone truly deserving of it. There might be more to the PD, but I haven't found it yet.

So, once I store all that I need in the PD, I turn and walk towards Lorelai and Amora's house. They stay near the bazaar, where Amora can sell her potions to the nearby Apothecary.

~~~
"You'll be gone. For a month? Are you shitting me right now?" Lorelai asks, as soon as I've explained after kissing her.
"Hey! Not like I want to leave you here, all alone!" I gasp in mock outrage, but sweat on the inside. I didn't know she'll get angry.
Lorelai raises her eyebrow, and puts her hands on her hips. Uh oh. "So.. you don't want to go?" she asks.
"Um... Well- you see, The King of Nidavellir! Yes! Got it! I mean- The King of Nidavellir, Eitri, he specifically requested me and Loki to come to his realm. You can't exactly refuse a King now, can you?" I nod sagely, totally believing she believed me, and sit down on the chair in front of Lorelai.
Amora snorts from her tome, and says, "Riiighhht. And you absolutely don't want to go and see how to forge weapons from the masters themselves, huh?"
Lorelai scowls at me, and says, "Really, Baldur? Lying? You're the God of Light, not lies. You should leave lying to Loki. He's at least believable."
"HEY! I take offense to that!" I gasp, putting my hand on my chest in outrage.
Lorelai and Amora snort, and Lorelai says, "Thank the All Father, you're cute. Otherwise, I'd hate you for trying to lie to me."
Amora nods and says, "He's so cute that it's no wonder he's called the most beloved God."
"I'm called the what now?!" I exclaim, looking at Amora. This title was news to me.
Amora lowers her tome and looks at me in shock, she exclaims, "Oh! You don't know?!" I shake my head so she continues, "Everyone in the realm knows how polite you are to the servants, and the guards. That one girl whom you gave your old clothes to, what's her name? - nevermind- She told everyone how you're the nicest of the Princes."
She shakes her head and says, "Honestly, Thor and Loki don't help matters. Thor is as rude as they come, and Loki is simply asocial to anyone not his family and friends. So they started calling you the Most Beloved God when you awakened the Light and Sun domain, which even encouraged the rumours of your niceness. "
"Huh? How so?" I ask, pulling Lorelai on my lap, because that does not make sense. I mean, yes I'm polite to the servants and the guards. Why be rude to the ones who have the opportunity to spit in my food, or poison it, or even those who guard my family? That's just stupid. Or Thor. But how's The Light make me more likable?
Amora glares at me, with no heat behind it, and explains, "Sometimes you remind me that you and Thor are twin brothers. Thor has his lightning, Loki has his illusions. Both are good, no doubt, but Lightning is fairly useless outside if battles, while Illusions are rarely used. Light meanwhile, can take away the darkness, cold, and simply make your life brighter. Or so they say."
"Huh. I get it, kind of." I nod, and hug Lorelai to my chest. I kiss her shoulder, and ask, "So Lorelai, now that it's established I'm going away for a month, how about some fun before I leave?"
Lorelai turns around in my lap, splitting her legs on my two sides. She kisses me on my lips, grinding herself to me, and says, "I thought you'd never ask, my Prince."
I grin, as I feel another set of hands working on my pants as Lorelai and I start kissing passionately. Being "The Most Beloved God" is goooood.
~~~~

After spending an amazing evening with Lorelai, Amora leaving us to our fun after one round, I'm sitting in my bed, thinking. I'm alone right now, as Lorelai doesn't usually spend her nights in my room. We're not courting, yet.

I was simply playing with the light, making the beams on my finger, burning into things by touching them. Then I progressed to make a long beam extended from the tip, so I don't even have to touch it, when I thought. Can I use this Light to enhance my senses?

I mean, it works with my Magic. My magic, when sent to my nose, enhances my sense of smell to be only a bit better. The same with all the other senses. Eyes get a better perception, ears hear from afar, and the tongue does nothing.

Now, I know that the Light won't do anything to my sense of touch, as I'd have found it out by now. I also don't think it'll do anything to my sense of hearing or smell. But sight? That's right up Light's alley.

Starting with a minuscule amount of Light, about 1% of the total amount I can safely control, I send it to my left eye, so I can compare between the two eyes.

Pause.

"Holy fucking shit! What the hell is this!?" I whisper to myself, in shock.

I close my left eye, and look through my right. Plain old regular vision. Now I close my right and look with my left eye. Colours. Lots and lots of colours. Way more than I was used to seeing, at least. It's like I awakened the Sharingan and suddenly see way more details. Along with that, the shades of the same colour, which I used to think are the same, can now be differentiated easily.

"Damn, that's beautiful! And it's when I only put this much Light in my eye!" Widening my eyes, I sit up properly, and pour more Light in my left eye.

Nothing happens, so I pour more Light. And more. And more. Once I've put almost quarter of the Light Energy that I currently have access to, a change occurs.

Now, along with the first change, I can see wisps of... something, connected to almost every object in my room. The bed, my books, the bookshelf, Lorelai's panties, my underwear. Everything has some sort of wisp attached to it.

All wooden stuff has a dark green wisp, while the books have a lighter, but dull shade of green, with some brown mixed in. My bed mattress has a white wisp, while the mirror has a sort of crack- and I can't describe it any other way- on it.

I look towards my hand and see it almost glowing, orange and yellow-white, when I'm not even consciously emitting my Light, anywhere other than my eye. Though, I can see a flow in the glow my body has. All of the orange light, or Light if my guess is correct, originates from my heart. While the yellow-white glow originates from somewhere near my navel.

My and Lorelai's undies, on the other hand, have two shades of pink. Mine is darker, obviously. I'm a manly man. The only pink that describes my nightfall is the dark shade. Anyways, all the wisps sometimes go into the object, and go out of the object in the other.

Huh. So it is magic. I can see magic in it's pure form. Every object in my room has been made by infusion of Magic during the process. Yes, even my undies.

If I guess correctly, the colour of the wisp is the type of magic used. Brown and green describe Earth, and nature related magic, while pink describes lust. The crack is probably something related to the mirror realm, but I can't experiment with it without asking Mother.

Well, I'm in no hurry. I'll simply let my eye get used to this amount of Light before increasing the amount. I turn of the Mage sight, as I'm calling this version, and turn in for the night.

~~~
A/N: Yup, he can sort of see magic. He'll learn to do a lot of stuff by just seeing things like this, and most you can guess. Next chapter, he'll be at Nidavellir. And no, he won't learn the Dwarves' forging methods, but he will work on his smithing on Nidavellir, taking a few tips here and there. Why? You'll see. ;)
So, I've made my mind up. Baldur will get a spear, which has three modes.
The first will be a Helbard: [ https://gbf.wiki/images/f/f6/Weapon_b_1020200100.png ]
2nd will be a staff, like the Berserkers staff from the TV Show Agent's of Shield.
It can be stored, by shrinking it till it's the size of a baton. That's the 3rd mode.
As for Loki, he'll have two Uru made daggers that can be hidden as bracelets on his hands. Powers are a surprise.
