Capítulo 68: Enisia's Weapon
On her retuned trip Enisia encountered one of the odd new creatures. It clicked its fangs and lunged at her. Enisia sliced it in half with a sword she carried. It disappeared with a pop and left a small pile of something white and sticky at her feet. She picked it up and turned it over in her hands. She felt like she was supposed to do something with it, but she wasn't sure what.
She walked to a nearby tree and plucked a branch, feel like it was the right thing to do she tied string to the end of the stick and stretched it across and tied it to the other end, she felt a bit silly but she when she finished she felt a surge of energy. What she had before her was simple enough, but she could tell it was a powerful weapon, she called it a bow.
She took another stick and held it in her hand, it shifted and changed into a pointed projectile. The ground seemed to rumble softly beneath her feet. Sensing there was something she had to do she walked to the nearest cave entrance and followed it downwards till she was deep underground. There, she paused for a moment, unsure.
A deep sigh filled the room. Deep below her the Mother Goddess stirred.
"Something my child, something is coming."
Enisia felt confusion. "What is coming Grandmother?"
But she heard no more, for in that moment she saw something. There at the end of the room was a creeper with glowing purple eyes.
Enisia took her weapon in hand, drew back the arrow upon the bow and fired. The arrow pierced the creature and it fell to the floor and vanished. Feeling deeply uneasily Enisia left the room.
She returned to the mountain in haste. Rissa and Amos were sulking slightly having found nothing. Enisia went straight to her father and told him what had happened, Onicent listened but assured her whatever had happened was likely minuscule, the Mother Goddess had warned Enisia about the creeper coming.
Enisia was still uneasy but settled down more. That was when the others began to admire her new weapon. None loved it more then Vown though. Vown stroked a hand across it lovingly. Enisia explained to him how she'd made it and soon enough he had his own.
However Vown had made his much smaller and nimbler. It fit easily on his back.
Epis returned home then and when he saw his sister's weapon he instantly fell in love with it. But when he saw that Vown had gotten his own as well he felt a flash of jealousy. He laughed at Vown and asked what damage Vown could possibly do with such a pathetic weapon, Enisia's was clearly superior. Vown clenched his fists and stormed off muttering.
Enisia fixed Epis with a strange dark look. But Epis countered back that what he had said was true.
"That was foolish," Enisia said and she turned away from Epis.
Epis was truly confused but nonetheless he soon forgot all this had happened. He made his own bow which was the same size as Enisia's.
Never did it cross his mind to ask his parents to have his daughters in the palace until it was time to return to Maiella. He brushed it off though.
