Fresh air fanned her skin, warm light illuminated her closed eyes, damp earth buried herself in her bare feet, a shadow rose behind her, leaves and branches rustled in the wind, a rivulet splashed somewhere near there.

She took a deep breath, and the amalgam of smells that flooded her nose almost made her head spin in confusion. She didn't open her eyes, but took her time separating layer by layer of scent, analyzing every trace of essence in the air.

Pines and firs, oak and laurel, willows and redwoods and more tree species.

Roses, violets, lilies, orchids and hundreds of other floral scents wove a dense web around her.

She shook her head and concentrated, deepening and analyzing the various scents.

The earthy aroma of the earth.

Yarrow, valerian, thyme and juniper. She took a new breath, and the scent of more and more herbs, plants, and mushrooms rushed into her nostrils.
