Capítulo 7: CHAPTER 7

The alarm blared in my ears as I slowly got up. I wasn't a morning person and I never saw myself becoming one EVER. Who wants to leave the warmth and the comfort of their bed and wake up at 6 in the morning anyway. I had rather stay awake the whole night instead of waking up early the next morning.

Getting out of bed was another battle I fought with myself. At the end I finally got out.

I got ready and walked downstairs. I had picked my black cotton shorts with a white crop top and a cardigan that reached my ankles. It was 7 in the morning but no one had woken up. I made myself a cup of coffee and drank it outside on the patio. I went back in and saw Luna on the stairs.

"Is that you Lia! I can't believe you woke up this early. Do you have any plans today?"

"Yeah I will be meeting up with a friend to help him with his assignments. Don't worry I will be back by late afternoon."

And I spent the next 10 minutes explaining how Xavier was just a friend and nothing more. No matter how many times I said that he was just a friend to me, Luna didn't stop teasing me.

I wonder how she would react if she knew the truth.

I finally got a few of my books and left for the coffee shop. I was an hour early but I wanted to spend that time to think.

Think how I could get Xavier to open up. I knew I had to be careful. I didn't want to scare him; I was still a nobody in his life and I knew it wasn't going to be a cakewalk.

But I had to do this. Time was running and I only had 18 days to change his mind. Every step that I took was going to impact the rest of our lives.

I didn't even know an hour had passed and it was already 9. That's the problem with overthinking. It's a spiral and once you fall into it, there's no getting out. Not unless someone pulls you out.

For me, I'm the only one who's going to pull me out.

"Hey! sorry to keep you waiting. My sister didn't want me to leave so I had to convince her."

The innocent faces of his sisters near crying near Xavier's casket flashed in front of my eyes. I got myself to smile and told him it was alright.

"You look pretty; Your hair looks good this way. You should wear your hair down more often. Even in school, you tie your hair up."

I was absolutely dumbfounded. I didn't know anyone even paid attention to me let alone my hair when I went to school.

" Oh umm thank you, Xavier. That was really sweet of you!"

"Don't thank me; I'm just stating what you fail to see."

I stared at him as he took out a couple of folders and his laptop. For the first time ever I felt like I was noticed. I was seen.

I wasn't invisible.

"So where do you want to start?"

He stared at me after taking out a pile of unsolved worksheets.
