A woman wearing a mask walked out of the coffee shop nearby and announced a few sentences to the people sitting at the table.
Two bodyguards, both tall and well-built, flanked her on either side, dressed in black suits, with one hand hidden inside their jackets— it was unclear whether they were holding guns.
No one spoke, just silently watched the masked woman.
For the actors in the theater, offending the director was not an option.
Because, in a sense, she could control the fate of every actor!
For instance, if the plot required one or a few extras to take a boxed lunch and turn into wax figures, the extras were indistinguishable in the director's eyes. If the director disliked you and chose you for the scene, you just had to accept your misfortune.
To turn into a wax figure, unless family or friends helped make up the deficit, one couldn't be rescued.
If there were no relatives here, or if someone had a poor reputation and bad relations on the set, without friends willing to help, they would just quietly remain a beautiful wax figure in the wax museum forever.
The cost of saving a friend who had turned into a wax figure was too high.
This cost was enough to bring a thousand-meter-high platform down to the ground, the choice of a normal person was obvious.
As Gao Fei said, even if he spent a great deal of money to save his girlfriend, who knew if she would mess up again next time she performed?

"All extras present, when to stand up, when to cross the street, please wait for my notification. I'll have specific requirements for your walking speed while crossing."
"Everything must be according to the directions I give through your earpiece. Anyone who goes against my instructions during the performance will be dismissed from the set."
"Dismissal will result in a one-time deduction of a thousand points."
"You now have ten minutes to discuss the plot. After ten minutes, we will officially start filming this car accident scene!"
After speaking, the director handed out a small in-ear Bluetooth headset to each person and then turned around and walked back into the coffee shop, leaving the eight actors at the round table.
"One in eight chance of taking a boxed lunch and turning into a wax figure; I hope it's not me," Gao Fei muttered quietly to Li Teng.
"Aren't the lives of us six extras in the hands of that couple? More precisely, in the hands controlling the steering wheel of that Sunglasses Man?" Li Teng quietly replied to Gao Fei.

"There are levels to actors?" Li Teng was completely clueless about the industry.
"Yes, for a complete production team, one starts as extras, then Bit-part Extras, followed by attached actors, Middle Special Contract Group, major attached group, supporting role, lead role, and finally reaching Best Actor or Best Actress. Like in this small scene here, if they are just one level above us, even if it's just the Bit-part Level, they can play the leads in this small scene," Gao Fei explained to Li Teng.
"The existence of social strata really is a constant across all dimensions," Li Teng said without surprise.
And there was nothing to complain about, for those two to be protagonists in this scene, they must have gone through previous scenes, risking their lives time and time again, scene after scene, perhaps dozens of times.
In the real world, if you're not born into wealth or power and still want to be superior, you have to work harder than others. Here, at least, there is no unfairness caused by the wealthy or powerful.
"Big brother, you're a leading actor! I really didn't see it! To meet you as soon as I arrived here is my good fortune!" a young man in his twenties, wearing glasses, gazed eagerly and admiringly at the man with sunglasses beside him.
Glasses Man, who had arrived on the island in the same clueless state as Li Teng, was scared to the point of wetting himself by the man in sunglasses at some wax museum, and thereafter, he started calling the Sunglasses Man "big brother."
"I'm the future Best Actor, following me definitely has its perks," the Sunglasses Man took off his glasses and patted Glasses Man on the shoulder.
Seeing the face that the Sunglasses Man revealed made Li Teng frown.
To meet an acquaintance here! Someone must have checked the actor's info and arranged this intentionally; otherwise, it makes no sense.
"Best Actor? You? Just a Minor Special Contract Extra, surviving till becoming part of the Middle Special Contract Group would be good enough, what are you bragging about?" Sunglasses Woman spoke disdainfully to the Sunglasses Man.
They were not the protagonists of "Furious Speed on Desperate Road," at best, they were just extras. Of course, in this minor car accident scene, they were indeed the protagonists relative to extras like Li Teng and Gao Fei.
"Bragging? What do I have to brag about? To them, I'm the protagonist now! I'm God! And, I control the fate of all of them!" Sunglasses Man expressed his dissatisfaction with Sunglasses Woman's attitude and put his sunglasses back on with a snort.
The Extras, hearing this from the Sunglasses Man, looked rather uncomfortable.
Li Teng even intentionally bowed his head, pretending to drink coffee, using the rim of the coffee cup to cover most of his face.
He was incessantly cursing inwardly.
Sunglasses Man was right, indeed, the fates of these six extras were currently in the hands of this Sunglasses Man.
Once the filming started, the six extras would follow the directions in their earpieces to cross the wide street in front of them, with strict limits on their speed - not too fast, not too slow, their actions completely out of their control.
And Sunglasses Man would drive a sports car, speeding towards them at over a hundred miles per hour, needing only to hit one of the extras to complete the scene.
As for whom to hit and whom not to, it all depended on his whim!
Although it was just acting, and the hit actor wouldn't really die, becoming a wax statue was certain.
Unless there was a balance of a thousand points in their account, they could avoid becoming a wax statue by deducting a thousand points.
But who would keep a thousand points in their account?
Wouldn't they hurry to get rid of the stone pillar and then escape?
If Sunglasses Man recognized Li Teng, after the filming started, Li Teng could guess whom he would choose to hit.
Unless, among the few extras present, there was someone Sunglasses Man hated more than Li Teng.
But that was simply impossible.
