Howls and battle cries were heard behind them. They keep running until they reach the forest ends. In front of them were a cliff and the roaring ocean underneath them.
Even at this far end, the alarming sound of bells can be still heard from the silent night.
The grandiose mansion symbolizes their wealth and power slowly crumbling at their feet.
Two figures stand at the edge of the cliff. They fleeing the one chasing them.
You can never trust anyone. His father's last words.
Not even the child of the servants, you grew up with. Not the councils that advise you. The aides that help you. The servants that showered you praises will turn their back at the first sign of conflict in authority.
Not even your relatives or a family member. Never trust anyone.
The two of them keep running until they reach the edge of the cliff. Underneath is the ocean, from the heights of where they currently stand is not that high and you wouldn't be killed if you jump, probably paralyze and broken bones. But the problem was the ocean.
The ocean roaring with life. Its strong waves are hitting the rocks as its coast. You will not die from the height but the impact of strong waves and currents underneath the water.
Heavy stomps against the snow were heard at their back.
"Wh-where are we going?"
He asks him, but the boy tightens his hands into a fist. With a look of both determination and guilt, the boy who's fleeing with him pushes him towards his death.
"NO!!!"
Never trust anyone, son.
