Capítulo 17: the council part 1
"let's highlight the key point of this meeting." said Hiruzen, looking at the council members.
the Konoha Council is made up of the Hokage, the Clan-Heads, and old, wise, and retired ninjas can also gain a seat as Elders.
" The economy of the village is still recovering from the Kyuubi attack, the Kumo village is still following the peace treaty, but there are some suspicious moves from them"
"because the Land of Wind's daimyō started handing out missions previously given to Suna to us instead. The Fourth Kazekage began selling gold dust to try to make up for the loss of funding."
"however it seems that has failed, because suna ninjas are now working individual, not in teams. also, the Fourth had the One-Tail sealed into his newborn son"
"ok, a new hidden village has been founded, its called Otogakure. we still don't know the founder, but the village power scale is not high enough to consider a threat, at least for now."
"now about Anko Mitarashi, a former student of Orochimaru. after investigating her, we found that she had been abandoned for lacking the ideal drive to fuel the cursed seal, and she is not under any kind of genjutsu."
"seeing that the girl is innocent and that she take responsibility for Orochimaru, as his former student, by trying to stop his criminal actions and also taking in consideration that she is a highly skilled kunoichi with high potential, we decide to have her join Konoha again, but she will be placed under severe surveillance"
" and to end this meeting in a good note, my son, Asuma Sarutobi, became one of the Twelve Guardian Ninja(a group that protected the Land of Fire's daimyō)"
"and Itachi Uchiha, youngest post-war graduate, and the son of Fugaku Uchiha the head of the Uchiha clan as well as the leader of the Konoha Miltary Police Force had become a chūnin, at age of 10." Hiruzen smiled at Fugaku and said.
"congratulations, Uchiha head. you have a great son."
"Thank you, Hokage-sama. he made me proud" Fugaku's voice sounded cold when he thanks Fugaku, but it becomes a bit warm when he mentions his son.
"congratulations, hokage-sama. your son, Asuma, made the village proud" council member n°1
"congratulations, Uchiha head. your son will be a great ninja in the future" council member n°2
most of the council members congratulated the Hiruzen and Fugaku, but some didn't. like Danzo and Hyuga's head, they both stayed silent.
"now that the meeting is over, I have to go because I have more things to do" said Hiruzen trying to escape, but before he stands up someone calls him.
"where are trying to go, Hiruzen? the meeting is still not finished yet " it was Danzo who said that.
Danzo appeared as a frail old man. He had black and shaggy hair, and he also had an x-shaped scar on his chin(that stand for x-vidéos)
he wore a white shirt, with a black robe. and because he still yet to have Shisui's Sharingan nor did he meet Shin Uchiha yet, Danzo's right eye and hand aren't bandaged yet, to hid the Sharingans.
'I know it, I shouldn't come here'
"what do you want Danzo? the meeting is over. and shouldn't you call me by hokage?"
"I heard that you meet the jinchūriki, today. is that right, Hiruzen?" said Danzo, completely discarding what Hiruzen said.
'goddammit, Danzo. couldn't you let the matter slide?' cursed Hiruzen in his mind, but he still answered in a calm manner.
"you mean little Naruto, yes I did meet him before this meeting. and he is fine, if that what you want to ask. anyway I really have something to do, so I must go." said Hiruzen trying to escape again.
"Hiruzen, stop trying to escape. you know what most of us here want to know. so stop playing around, and give us some answers. what was the boy doing in the last months" Danzo said
"sigh, the boy was just training. to be more precise he was trying his chakra control. and before any of you ask, no one teaches him. the boy learns by himself by imitating the other ninjas. he didn't even know what he's doing." Hiruzen knows that after what Danzo said, he could not escape anymore, so he accepted his defeat and start talking.
after hearing what Hiruzen said, the council members stunned at first, then start talking to each other.
"he learns chakra control by himself. what genius." council members n°1
"he didn't even have a teacher or clan to help him. he is a super-genius" council members n°2
"you guys forget that he is only 5 years old. he is not just a genius but monster in human form "council members n°3
"finally the village will have more hope to stand at the peak like it used to. with a real genius like Naruto it can become reality. " council members n°4
"yeah, he is a 'real genius'. not like some fakes, who thinks that becoming chūnin at 10 is a big thing. I remember that I become one when I was only 6 "Hyuga had said while giving Fugaku a look. it was obvious that he only said that, to annoy Fugaku.
although, most of the council members are happy about hearing that Konoha has such a genius, some of them weren't.
"SILENCE, did you people forget that he has the Kyuubi sealed in him, the same Kyuubi that almost destroyed the village, 5 years ago. how can we know that it's not the Kyuubi doing, huh? we can't trust him, at least for now. we must make sure that his loyalty to the village." Danzo said
"Danzo-sama is right, we can't trust the fox demon after all that he did to us" a random council member said.
"...first, the Kyuubi and Naruto are two different entities, so don't put your hate of the Kyuubi on Naruto. and Danzo, you need to stop talking shîts, and say what you really want." Hiruzen said with a poker face.
Danzo grinned hearing that and said
" I want him to join the root"
