That exact time, all the scientists who built the very first virtual reality system in the history of mankind, all look troubled as they gathered in the meeting room.
"What's with the sudden call?"
The core of the team, Christopher Lim, the creator of Phantasy Realm, entered the meeting room with a heavily drained look in his face. For the past few months, he never had decent sleep. For the success of the very first VRMMORPG game, he dedicated himself by working late nights. After the release of the game, he thought he could finally have a peaceful sleep he desired. However, ten minutes after the game was opened to the public, when he was finally getting ready to sleep, his subordinate rushed towards his room with an alarming expression on his face.
"Sir! We have a very serious problem."
After hearing the troubling news, Christopher ran his way towards the meeting room where everyone was currently gathered.
"Who's that troubling kid?" He took a seat.
Rose Han, the head of the operations team, stood in front of everyone and spoke indifferently while showing them the player's profile in a projector behind her.
"His name is Jaycee Kim, whose in game name was Jaycee."
"Jaycee Kim? Hmm? Wait ..!" Christopher's eyes widened. Hearing the name, there's only one person who came into his mind.
"You're right sir." Without directly hearing what he was planning to say, Rose already knew and confirmed what he was thinking. "Jaycee Kim, the only son of the current president of our country, President Jerry Kim."
Christopher trembled in excitement. "Amazing. Tell me what he did."
"Ten minutes after the game was launched, Quest #5 was unknowingly triggered and accepted by him."
"Quest #5? You mean the Unknown rank quest offered by the God of Magic, Albus?"
"Unfortunately, yes sir."
Everyone gathered around that room gone silent. No one dared to utter a word however; they were talking with just their glances.
"Isn't the activation requirements for Quest #5, too complex and abstract?"
"Yes, sir. However, for his case, we don't really exactly know what happened. I also don't think our supercomputers are the ones at fault here."
Christopher stood up with an odd smile on his face and cried, "Let bygones be bygones. He may have activated the quest however; completing it is a totally different issue."
"Our plans for the following year may have been slightly ruined however, there's nothing we can do about this. Just proceed with the preparations and I'll be the one monitoring this kid from time to time."
The meeting dismissed. Rose and Christopher were left behind the meeting room. All of a sudden, Christopher laughed his heart out.
Rose was startled. "What's the matter, sir?"
He gradually forced himself to stop from laughing and said, "Nothing. It's just interesting."
"Quest #1 to #5 was supposed to be discovered a year and several months later. It was absolutely an utter shock, knowing that Quest #5 triggered, ten minutes after the launch. Is that what you're laughing at, sir?"
"Yea, you're right. It's just so funny."
"So what should we do now sir?"
"As I said earlier, there's really nothing we can do." Christopher slowly approached the door. "We can't carelessly interfere with the game's algorithm, you know that. If we touch something we shouldn't touch, the entire game will collapse. You know how sensitive our microcomputers right? You should be the first one to know how stressful it is when an error or a bug appeared."
Rose heavily sighed. "To think our plans was messed up ten minutes after the game was released." She heavily sighed once more. "What a letdown."
"Be positive, Rose. Completing that quest will take a lot of time. Our plans will happen just like we planned. Don't be discouraged by the sudden variable."
"Okay, sir. I'm just overwhelmed by the sudden happening."
Before he left, he firstly asked a question.
"By the way, what class did that kid picked? He activated Quest #5 so basically he's a Byuma, correct?"
Rose swallowed upon seeing his class and CP. It was totally unexpected for her to see a supporting class with that surprisingly high CP matter worse, still in level one. Addition to that, his domestic and global ranking was totally in a conspicuous place. "He's a Spell Caster sir," she stammered.
Christopher raised a tone and yelled, "What?!"
"What's more surprising is …" Rose shakily showed him the ranking list from her tablet.
Christopher almost collapsed from his standing after what he just saw. It was totally outrageous yet surprisingly funny at the same time. He was surprised beyond amazement. "Haa~ My goodness. He's truly an interesting kid."
