Feng Tianyi looked at his cousin as if he'd grown another head over his shoulder. What nonsense was Song Fengyan talking about? He knew his cousin tends to be stupid at times, but for him to assume for him to father children out of wedlock? Song Fengyan must have hit his head on his way here.
Instead, he glared at his cousin menacingly. He shouldn't spout such nonsense, especially in front of these children who were fatherless. Not only would it cause awkwardness to the situation, given the fact that the little buns were Tang Moyu's children, but he also wasn't willing to reveal his identity to the aloof empress.
"Shut it, Fengyan. They aren't mine. Their mother just asked me a favor to look after them today." He looked away, somewhat annoyed, but didn't know why he was in the first place.
Was it because of the reality that he would be forever alone? That he would never have a family he could call his own? It was stupid for him to think of even a slight possibility. Besides his mother and these little buns, who would accept someone like him?
Song Fengyan tapped his chin and looked at his cousin who suddenly became grumpy, which honestly wasn't surprising at all. In fact, seeing these children with Feng Tianyi made him wonder if he entered the wrong place.
His eyes went back to the sleeping little boy and couldn't help but notice the similarities between him and his cousin. He and Feng Tianyi had known each other since childhood. And while he was a chubby boy back then, Tianyi was a popular boy because of his adorable appearance.
Who would have thought that the adorable kid, who grew up to be a devil, would end up like this? Song Fengyan had never imagined that a man like Feng Tianyi would be reduced to the crippled, lonely man he was today.
His thoughts were forced to halt when the little girl sat up and rubbed her eyes with the back of her hand. She looked around and saw their Uncle Ji looking after her and her twin brother and another unknown person was there with them.
Song Fengyan's eyes twinkled as he greeted the little girl.
"Hello! Little Miss, what's your name?" He asked Little Star.
Little Star wasn't comfortable with how this unknown man talked to her. She crawled down from the couch and ran towards her Uncle Ji who'd then taken her to settle on his lap.
"Uncle Ji, who is he?" Little Star clenched her small hand on Feng Tianyi's shirt as she curled away from Song Fengyan's face.
Song Fengyan blinked twice as to how the little girl called his cousin. What? Uncle Ji? Oh now, Feng Tianyi didn't even bother to tell these children his name? He wondered how his grumpy cousin met these cute buns anyway.
Usually, children tend to cry and run back to their mothers whenever they see Feng Tianyi's face, out of fear, so what changed this time?
"Ah, he's the cousin I was talking about earlier. He helps me once in a while," Feng Tianyi nonchalantly said.
Song Fengyan's vein began to throb on his head. He wanted to correct his cousin and say that he was the one who keeps running the errands and cleaning the mess he always left in his wake, but with a little girl trembling in the arms of this tyrant, how the hell would he dare to antagonize the devil?
Little Star relaxed in Feng Tianyi's arms and then regarded the man with her wide round eyes. The way she pressed her forefinger on her lips was a mannerism she got from her mother whenever she was curious about something.
"You are my Uncle Ji's cousin?" She asked Song Fengyan curiously.
"En! Nice to meet you, Little Miss. I'm Song Fengyan, this tyrant man's cousin. You can call me Uncle Yan." He flashed the most alluring smile he used to give to women, hoping he could charm Little Star, but failed.
Feng Tianyi smacked Song Fengyan's right leg with his cane after hearing his introduction. Did this idiot cousin of his dare to ruin his reputation in front of Little Star?
"Oww!" Song Fengyan lifted his right leg and hopped on his other leg in pain. 'What the hell was that for?!" He exclaimed, but Feng Tianyi ignored him.
Instead, the devil patted Little Star's head and called her attention back on him.
"Little Star, listen to Uncle Ji, okay? No matter what this man tells you to do, don't agree easily," he told her.
"But why? Isn't he, your cousin, Uncle Ji?" Little Star was confused. She couldn't understand why her Uncle Ji was telling her this.
"Because he's a pervert." Feng Tianyi said nonchalantly.
Song Fengyan felt like he'd been stabbed in the chest by this devil's betrayal. How could he say such a horrendous lie to this cute doll with that impassive cold face of his?
Gah! Had he known Feng Tianyi would betray him like this, he wouldn't have felt any sympathy for Feng Tianyi's situation.
'I take it back! He really is a tyrant devil!' Song Fengyan screamed inwardly.
"Uncle Ji, what's a pervert?" The little girl asked, her forefinger still pressed against her lower lip.
Feng Tianyi stilled and looked down at the confused child on his lap. He realized then what he said wasn't right for a kid like her.
"Forget it. Your Uncle Yan is a conman. Don't trust him easily, okay? He will bully you if you listen to his nonsense."
"Okay," Little Star yielded to her Uncle Ji's request easily, much to Song Fengyan's chagrin.
He wanted to strangle Feng Tianyi right then and there. Did he really have to bad mouth him to this cute little girl? Ah, his poor heart. Why did he have to be subjected to his own cousin's tyranny?
He should be the one who calls Feng Tianyi a bully and a conman at the same time!
