After a while, a quiet chuckle followed by a whimper interrupted the silence. It was definitely her and definitely sad. Chao remembered the pain he felt when his mother died, so he knew exactly how painful it was. How the universe crumbled. But she didn't kill her granny. He killed his mother, unintentionally, but he did.
"He wants to give you space. Can you contact him first? Well, if you are comfortable with it..." he said, being considerate. But honestly, the only thing that was helping was to talk about it with someone. Don't keep everything inside.
"Why is he like that?" she squeezed out in a tiny voice. Chao's heart almost broke. The strong and playful Lili was nowhere to be seen.
"He misses you," Chao told the truth, not caring about his brother's pride. Lili sighed.
"I miss him too. How can I miss someone I was meeting for a few days?" She whimpered again, a tiny sob escaping her. Chao did not know what to say.
