Capítulo 8: CHAPTER EIGHT
Days went by quickly and my month of suspension came to an end. I really didn't think I would enjoy it that much. I learnt how to do things on my own without the servants having to do it for me. Dad always went to work very early so I was left alone with Anne all the time. I became used to her company and even started having small chats with her from time to time. I began to like her and realised she wasn't a bad person after all. We did lot of things together and we even went shopping when dad was away..........that was our little secret. Dad would get so angry if he found out about this since I was grounded.

"All set dad!" I said feeling so happy I was going back to school. I was finally going to see Tiffany, Britney and my other friends, Sophie, Ciara and Clara,they were twins, Josie,Cassey,Oliver,Matthew and Christopher,to mention a few. I had missed them so badly and couldn't wait to hug them all once again. Daddy drove me to school and this time around I wasn't alone. Anne, well mom, came with us.
During my stay at home, I read an article about a girl who lost her mom and didn't have anyone to help her after the demise of her mom. She urged all readers who had stepmothers and stepfathers to really count themselves lucky and from that day I realized I had made a big mistake. I started calling Anne mom from that day. Though it seemed hard at first, I have started getting used to it already.
The journey to school seemed longer than usual but after few hours,we finally arrived at our destination. On any normal day, I would have been sad to be back in school but today was different. I had really missed everyone and couldn't wait to see them. We reported to Miss Huff's office and she welcomed us. "I hope you haven't learnt your lesson now young lady",she asked. " Yes, I have ma'am."
Britney still hadn't reported and that left me worried sick about her. "She might probably be caught in traffic. Don't worry Britney will be here soon." Mom said when I told her how worried I was. Britney wasn't the type that would EVER report late for any function or activity. She always made sure she was always on time which according to her was a way of showing your high level of discipline and training.
"Miss Brown, everyone is waiting for you to share your experience with them." It was another tradition of the school for all students who were suspended to share their experiences on how suspension felt with their colleagues so they always stay out of trouble. "But ma'am Britney....." Miss Huff interrupted before I could complete my statement. "Oh I forgot to inform, Britney won't be coming today. Her parents called to inform me yesterday. It seems they are having a little problem but don't worry she will be here by next week. Shall we proceed?" "Yes Miss Huff." I responded feeling quite sad. I wanted to see Britney so badly. I had a lot of things I wanted to share with her but it seems they all had to wait till next week............sigh.
