Capítulo 34:  Chapter 33 – First day at U.A.

Kyotaka's POV

One Month Later

Finally, it had been one month, and today was the first day of school, I was going to U.A.! I was obviously excited, saving others had always been my dream and becoming a hero was one of the "easiest" ways to do that. I had trained for years, and it would pay off.

I put on the uniform, a long-sleeved grey jacket with a white shirt and a red tie and, for the girls, a green-blue skirt. After my mom wished me a good day, I took my bike and rode toward U.A.

I was glad that my house was pretty close to the hero school, as it only took me 15 minutes using my bike to get there.

I arrived to U.A., and tried to find my way to my class, 1-A. Fortunately, the school had put some maps so that we could find our classes, so I easily found myself in front of 1-A's giant door. I suppose it was made to be intimidating, but it didn't have any effect on me. Maybe a few years ago it would've worked, but now, after all the training I had done and experience I had, I wasn't easily intimidated anymore.

I was only outside and I could already hear two people arguing. At this rate I was going to have a headache quickly.

I entered the class and two boys, a blond-haired one and a tall one, were indeed arguing about…Something… I don't know what, I shut down my hearing as soon as I entered the classroom, they weren't going to ruin my first day yet.

A few moments later, a boy with green hair entered. Honestly, he looked like a wimp, but I knew that I appearances could be deceptive. It appeared he was really one, though, as he literally shrank down when the blond boy looked at him, I'm sure they had history together, seeing how the blond glared at him. Then, he blushed as red as a tomato when he was talked to by a girl.

It only took a few moments before the rest of the class arrived and a reactivated my hearing since the two boys had finished arguing.

Most people were introducing themselves and socializing, but I wasn't doing for two reasons. First, I wanted to observe everyone and two, but the main reason was that I sucked at socializing.

At one point, a boy with red hair asked:

"Hey, what rank did y'all got in the Entrance Exam?" I placed third!"

"Nice man, I placed like, 19th. But did you see the scoreboard, there was that girl, Kyotaka Honowa, who got like 150 points! What the heck! She more than doubled second place, " a boy with weird elbows replied.

"Yeah, that was so manly, I heard it was the third-highest score of all time, only 5 points lower than All Might's! Her quirk must be extraordinarily strong!" The same boy with red hair replied, awestruck.

While they were discussing my performance at the entrance exam, I could clearly see a boy with spiky blond hair, the same that was arguing earlier, fuming, he looked like he was going to explode at any moment.

At that point, I was 99% sure he was the typical "I think better than everyone, I have a superiority complex and a sh*t temper" type of guy. Man, this class was filled with clichés.

He probably hated me with passion now because I had hurt his oversized ego, and I really looked forward to the day I would get the opportunity to kick his ass.

Right now, though, I was hoping that my classmates wouldn't find me, even though I knew that was impossible. Seconds later, a girl with black hair in a spiky ponytail decided that she wanted to know me. At least she seemed pleasant enough she wasn't shouting like most of the others.

"Hi, I'm Momo Yaoyorozu, nice to meet you. You seem lonely, up there in your corner. What's your name?"

"Hello Yaoyorozu, I'm Kyotaka Honowa, nice to meet you", I politely replied to her.

She seemed like a nice girl, and I had nothing against socializing, I just was bad at it.

"Oh, so you're the girl they're all talking about. So you're the one who scored 150 points in the exam. Excuse me for my bluntness, but except the fact that it put you in first place, is 150 points a lot? Why is your score special? I don't know, as I took the recommendation exam and I was quite curious."

"No problem. Well, it's just a lot of points, more than double than the person in second place", I explained, trying not to sound boisterous.

Unfortunately, our discussion was overheard and a brunette girl exclaimed, in a loud voice:

"Wait, you're Kyotaka Honowa? The one that destroyed the entrance exam? Wow, your quirk must be suuuuuper powerful! What is it?

As soon as she said that, most of the class turned toward me, with a mix of awe and jealousy in their eyes.

I just chose to ignore them and turned toward Momo to continue speaking to her, but the boy with the spiky blond hair and the superiority complex, Bakugou I think, yelled:

-Damn you extra, I'll prove that I'm better than you and your shitty quirk. I'll be the number one!

Ah, the more I heard him talk, the less pleasant he seemed… I resisted the urge to use my quirk to make him silent, as I wanted to keep it a mystery as long as possible, I would probably end up fighting my classmates soon and I would have a big advantage if they didn't know what my quirk was, or at least the details.

Ignoring him, I successfully spoke to Momo this time.

"So you went through the recommendation exam? What was it like? Did you fight against robots or was it something else?

I was genuinely curious about it, because I knew that recommended students were generally very powerful, so it must've been different than our exam, as the school didn't have to flesh out less powerful examinees.

-We also had a written test, but the practical part was something completely different. We had a three-kilometre-long obstacle race. We also had an interview after that."

Before we could continue talking, a man in a yellow sleeping bag suddenly entered the class and said, sounding bored out of his mind:

"If you're gonna be hunting for bodies do it elsewhere. This is the department….Of heroics!"

When we saw the man who just spoke, we pretty quickly quieted down. Apparently, it wasn't quick enough for him, as he looked disappointed. He looked oddly familiar, though, but I couldn't exactly pinpoint where or when I had heard about him. I didn't get the chance to ponder about it as he spoke again.

"Hmmm, it took you lot 8 seconds to quiet down. Life is short, you're all lacking in common sense."

"I'm your homeroom teacher Shota Aizawa. Pleasure meeting you."

Ah, I recognized him now, he was Eraserhead! Knockout had talked a lot of times about him and I had even seen him a couple of times. He was also one of the person Knockout told me to never underestimate. If I recalled correctly, his quirk allowed him to erase someone's quirk by maintaining eye contact.

He was also one of the only heroes that Knockout quite liked, that told a lot about the man. Right now, though, I didn't see what was that likeable about him, and that belief was strengthened when he spoke again.

"Were these immediately", he said, holding a gym uniform in his hand, "And then shove off the to the P.E. training ground."

"What about the ceremony? And the guidance counselor meeting!?" The brunette girl asked, shouting.

"If you want to be heroes, we don't have time for frilly niceties", he sternly replied.

For once, I think I was agreeing with him. And gosh, the people in my class were so loud, couldn't they just calm down a little?

We obliged and we directed ourselves toward the changing rooms.

Wow! You guys are awesome! Thanks for all the support you’ve all been giving me, it means a lot to me and motivates me a lot to write.

.

Short chapter, sorry. And I know not a lot happened, it was mostly cannon with a couple of small changes and Kyotaka’s opinion fo her classmates. But big, like BIG changes will come. Soon, on MHA: The Quirk Engineer.

.

Also, the pace of the story will slow down, as we are now in cannon, there won't be any more big timeskips anytime soon.
