Capítulo 27: The Uncrowned King ( 1 )

As a new day began, the common folk worked like usual and the rich men were talking about the Tournament.

Walking slowly toward a direction, Miraak, Asa, and Iphislia could be seen.

With their cloak covering all their bodies, they advanced toward the Slum.

Miraak advanced not as Miraak the Ice Mage from the Tournament.

But Miraak the Archmage.

Their destination and the final step in taking over Rifton unofficially.

The Uncrowned King, Elmar Qinyra's office.

As they finally arrived, the trio observed the place.

With black walls, it detached itself from the city.

Looking closely, Miraak saw that the walls became black from using Ebony metal along with Ice Magic.

He knew that he couldn't penetrate the walls if he was using physical weapons.

Of course, since he was a Mage, he just sighed.

He couldn't let Elmar Qinyra escape or even counterattack.

He needed to do everything in his power to kill him instantly.

A Master-class Thief with decades of robbed treasures at his disposal? Not something he could handle fighting head-on.

So, Miraak chose the 'All or Nothing' strategy.

Soon, a blueish spell appeared on his left hand.

It pulsated in violent bolts of lightning.

As it pulsated more and more, the bolts of lightning started to slowly envelop Miraak's body.

Not like an Armor.

But like an Aura.

His eyes started to glow more and more in blueish energy.

His hair danced more and more violently in the wind as bolts of lightning violently glowed on his body.

Overload Spell.

It overcharged the entire body with Lightning energy to empower the next Lightning spell.

It was an Expert-class spell created in the future by a group of Master-class Lightning Mages.

They couldn't advance to ArchMage level, so they created this spell to slightly empower themselves.

But, to the current Miraak, it was an extreme aid.

As the violent lightning energy condensed more and more around his body, another spell appeared on his right hand.

Like a child that found its mother, the lightning energy that was violently glowing around his body started to enter the spell on his right hand.

The more energy entered, the more the spell on his hand trembled.

Trembling more and more, like a leaf on a storm, the spell on his right hand started to slowly change color.

From blueish to cyanish.

And finally, from cyanish to whitish.

Pure white lightning.

The hottest lightning that existed.

Miraak's problem, of course, was again his Magicka pool.

He couldn't maintain the spell in balance, so unavoidable consequences came forth.

Like what happened next.

The white lightning was so powerful that the robe around his right hand disintegrated itself in small particles.

His right arm's skin turned red from too much pressure.

The pure energy was so high that it traveled to his hair, slowly making it pure white.

Asa and Iphislia just stared at the situation not only in awe but in fear too.

It was the first time they saw a spell so powerful.

Miraak already gritting his teeth, slowly raised his right hand.

Finally finishing the spell, his pure white hair turned blonde back as all the energy from his body and his hand slowly transformed into a very small ball of pure energy in front of his index finger of his right hand.

It was so small that it seemed harmless.

But, Miraak was sweating bullets as he stared, strangely enough, slightly nervous at the small ball.

Gritting his teeth, he said, "... Empowered Static Orb."

Like a laser beam, it impacted on the wall of the building.

Closing themselves on a metal fortress... they were asking for death.

Electrical conductivity on metals.

Every Lightning Mage had major advantages than any other type of mages in war, and Electrical conductivity on metals was one of them.

For metal armored infantry, a Lightning Mage was their grim reaper.

It all happened so fast that Asa and Iphislia thought that it was a dream.

As the small ball of energy impacted on the wall, the entire building started to glow more and more bright.

It glowed so bright that it surpassed the sunlight, casting shadows all over the city.

They couldn't even hear screams.

They couldn't even hear the enemy's death.

As if the building didn't exist, to begin with, it disappeared.

It evaporated into nothing.

Such power.

Such might.

It was the first time Asa and Iphislia started to believe that Miraak's was a Mage foremost.

But, they didn't notice.

Miraak was panting roughly as he sweated profusely while gently tapping his right arm.

His entire right arm was reddish while his right hand was slightly black.

Although it looked impressive, after all, he instantly killed a Master-class and all his man by a single attack, it wasn't that impressive.

It was inefficient.

He needed to first cast Overload, wait some seconds, cast his next spell, wait so it could finish, and finally cast it.

It took him about 10 seconds to cast all of it.

Although 10 seconds seemed insignificant opposed to the result, it was extremely important.

In a fight, everything could happen in 10 seconds.

So, Miraak decided to use this combination of attacks just because it was his only option to kill the Master-class Thief instantly, not giving him any chance of escape or counterattacking.

Waking up from their dream world, Asa and Iphislia finally noticed Miraak's condition.

"... Holy sh-..." Asa said before she and Iphislia dashed and took him away from there.

After all, they felt it.

A huge group of soldiers was running toward the location.

...

Returning to their room, Asa and Iphislia let go of Miraak.

Although Miraak was 'Injured', he wasn't in death door, so he tiredly but calmly walked to the table.

Putting his reddish right arm on the table, he started to use Restoration spells to cure it.

Before Asa and Iphislia could say something, Miraak sighed and said, "... I had to do it. I couldn't let the Uncrowned King escape to another base or counterattack us."

"... You... I understand the reason why you did it... It... It's just frustrating..." Asa said frustrated to her and Iphislia inability in helping Miraak.

"... And that's why we're gonna start the intensive training." Miraak said smiling.

Suddenly, a reddish and purplish spell appeared on his left hand.

Before they could ask what was that, he threw it at them.

...

As a huge group of soldiers arrived, their Captain, Alaion, was sweating profusely as he stared at the huge hole on the ground. where the building of the Uncrowned King stood before.

After all, the Royal Family, all the nobles, every single powerful man in the city had connections with the Uncrowned King.

Suddenly, a soldier ran to him and said, "Captain! One of our 'Allies' said something interesting."

Of course, he was referring to a Thief.

Tilting his head seriously, he said, "What is it?"

"... In the past days, a group of three people started to dominate our 'Allies' groups. One Male and two Females." The soldier responded respectfully.

"... Their names?" The Captain asked even more seriously than earlier.

"... Looks like he didn't know the Male's name, but he knew the two females." The soldier said bowing before continuing, "... Their names are Asa and Iphislia."

Hello.

With my college becoming more intense, I'm having trouble finding time to do anything.

So, I don't know if I could do the initial daily chapter premise.

I'm sorry and thank you for reading.
