Chris's thoughts:
Today is his birthday.
We have celebrated all of our birthdays together.
Over the last five or six years now I have watched his eyes so carefully on this day...
It doesn't matter how hard my parents and I have tried,
I've never been able to make his eyes light up the same way his father's phone call does every year.
Not this year.
This year he is mine.
Mine to celebrate, mine to cherish, mine to love.
Tyler:
*brushing his teeth
*Still in pajamas
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK
Tyler's thoughts:
Hm?
It's like 6am right now… who's at the front door?!
Tyler:
*Rubs eyes as he walks to the door
*Opens door
*Gasp
*Shock
Chris:
*Standing with a big bouquet of flowers in front of his face
*Two coffees on a tray and several paper bags hanging from his wrist
Happy! Birthday!
Tyler:
*Blushing
*Grabs Chris's arm
Get in here before someone sees!
Chris:
*lowers flowers to reveal a pout
But I want everyone to see
Tyler:
*Swipes flowers from Chris and walks to the kitchen
Tyler's thoughts:
He is the sweetest, most embarrassing, most adorable boyfriend on this planet…
Tyler:
*Smile (Doesn't reach his eyes though)

I wish I could spend the day with you…
I have a shift.
Chris:
*Sets the bags down on the small table in the dining room
*Smiles
I know.
It's only a four hour shift though.
So as soon as you are done…
*Wraps arms around Tyler's waist
*Kisses shoulder
*Rests chin on Tyler's shoulder
You're all mine.
Tyler:
*Gulp
You sound like you have a lot planned for the day…
Chris:
Mmm. Yes. I do.
Tyler:
*Turn to face Chris
Anything you'd like to tell me about now?
Chris:
*Shakes head
Nope.
*Smiles brightly
I know you're probably in a rush to get to work,
so I brought you a coffee and a quiche from that little cafe you like.
You can eat in my car on the way to work.
Tyler:
*Raises an eyebrow
But I have time—

Chris:
*Pulls Tyler by the waist

Hmm
*Pulls face away
You taste like toothpaste
Tyler:
*Blushing
I was brushing my teeth when you knocked…
I need to get dressed…
Chris:
*sits on the edge of Tyler's bed
Tyler:
*Inside bathroom
*Pulling pants on
I still have thirty minutes before I need to leave
*Opens the bathroom door
Chris:
*Scoots back further on to the bed.
*Flirty smile
What should we do with so much time?
Tyler:
*Smirks
*Crawls onto Chris's lap

Chris:
*Sigh of relief

7 minutes of kissing later
Tyler's thoughts:
More… I want… more of him
Tyler:
*Moans
*Claws the back of Chris's shirt up
*Starts kiss Chris's Neck
Chris:
*Hand's gripping Tyler's waist
Chris's thoughts:
If I don't stop this soon…
*Flips Tyler on to the bed

Maybe we should stop here for now…
Tyler:
*Whines
Hmph.
But it's my birthday—
Chris:
*Raises an eyebrow
*Serious face
I don't want to make a mess of your pants right before you go to work.
Tyler's thoughts:
Note to self, you're boyfriend is still a virgin…
I don't want to pressure him into anything he isn't ready for…
Even if that really is all I want for my birthday…
Tyler:

Okay then. How about we go back to the kitchen and…

Chris:

Later that day

*sitting behind check out counter

I know it's a short shift…
But having so few customers coming in kind of makes the five hours go by slow…
