(A SHORT STRIKE)
*CATHLEN CHAMBER*
"Look what you've done!" Duke raises his voice at his wife.
"Why are you so angry at me? What did I do?" Duchess asks,
"Are you asking me because you don't know, or you are just avoiding your fault," Duke Thranduil answer,
"I am asking because I don't understand why you're angry at me!" Duchess responds in anger.
"You disrespect our daughter's fiance!" Duke Thranduil's answer his wife with a fit of anger.
"I only want to know why he orders his two trusted guards to keep Lady Vendia safe instead of our daughter," Duchess reasoned.
"You know it well, he only wants to clear things about Lady Vendia and want to keep our daughter safe from her," Duke Thranduil responds,
"But that is not what I think it is. Aren't you curious too? He can't even speak his reason to us. I think there's something wrong,"
"Then think whatever you want, but I will believe what I think it is," Duke Thranduil reply,
"Okay, so be it!" Duchess cry out,
"Don't you do things that can ruin and lower our family reputation," He reminded his wife, then leave his daughter's room. He doesn't want to argue any further and receive his wife's response.
"Aargh!" Duchess throw tantrum,
'Am I the only one who wants justice for you, my daughter?' Duchess thought with small tears escape in her eyes while she sits down on the bed. Where her daughter sleeps, then caresses her daughter's hair.
"Sweet dream, my daughter," She said, then stand up and leave her daughter's room in silence.
The next day,
-DUKE RESIDENCE-
*CATHLEN CHAMBER*
The morning comes, and the physician arrived early to check upon Lady Cathlen's condition.
"Cathlen?" Duchess called outside her daughter's room, and Angela went over to the door, then open it for them to get in.
"Duchess, My Lord, and Sir come in," Angela greets them.
"Oh, is she already awake?" Duchess asks,
"Yes, Duchess," Angela answer,
"Mother, Father, come in," Lady Cathlen reply,
"Oh, thank god you are okay now," Duchess respond, then went over to her daughter with his husband.
"How are you feeling?" Duke Thranduil asks his daughter, who looked at them confused.
"Why? Did something happen to me?" She asks, lost.
"You don't remember what happened to you?" Duchess aerwen got shocked,
"No, is that why the physician here? To check on me?" She mentions,
"Yes," The Duker answer,
"What is going on? Why can't you remember anything that happened to you the other day?" Duchess felt worried,
"Let me check on her," The physician inserted, then they move aside for him.
"How do you feel?" The physician asks Lady Cathlen.
"Well... to be honest, I feel like I have something I need to do, and I feel like I forgot something important, but I can't figure out what it is," She answered,
"I see," The physician responded, done checking up at Lady Cathlen.
"How is she?" Duke Thranduil ask, to the physician,
"She has an amnesia about what happened the other day," The physician reply,
"WHAT? But how?" Duchess Aerwen ask,
"When shock occurs to the person, they may experience amnesia, seizure, and respiratory arrest after. But as for your daughter's case, she only has amnesia," The physician elaborates.
"You mean all her memory has vanished?" Duke Thranduil asks, scared.
"No, not all her memories, only the part where the incident happened the other day," The physician explains.
"Why? What happened to me the other day?" Lady Cathlen asks, confused. The Duchess and Duke are about to explain, but a knock on the door halts them.
Knock
"My lord, Prince Adam has arrived," The butler announces,
"Come in," Duke Thranduil permits, as Lady Cathlen looks over to the door uninterested.
'Ahh... the idiot must have heard what happened to me then,' She thought, bored.
"Greetings to you, Duke Thranduil, Duchess Aerwen, Lady Cathlen, and to you, Sir," He greets them all.
"Same to you too," Duchess reply,
"How is she now?" Prince Adam asks, so glad to see Lady Cathlen awake now.
"She can't remember what happened the other day," Duke Thranduil reply,
"What? Why? Does she still know who I am?" Prince Adam asks, surprised and worried.
"Don't fret. My daughter only loses the memory about what happened the other day," Duke Thranduil responds, then Prince Adam sigh in relief.
"Oh,"
"Yes," Duchess,
"We will leave you two, for now, come on let us all go out for now," Duke Thranduil propose then Prince Adam nod, thanking him. They then all go out of the room, leaving only Lady Cathlen and him.
"You come here early," Lady Cathlen spoke as she felt a bit uneasy, not liking the fact that they are alone inside her room.
'Well, I don't have to worry. I know how to fight. If this prince does something out of my comfort, I will fight him,' Lady Cathlen thought,
"Do you want to know what happened to you the other day?" Prince Adam asks as he sits down to the right side of her bed.
"Yes," She answer,
"Okay, the other day you bump into Lady Vendia," Prince Adam tell,
"I did?" She replies, surprised.
"Yes,"
"Then what happened? Did she hurt me or something?" Lady Cathlen mentions then Prince Adam frown because of her words but he then deep sighs and smiles at her. Lady Cathlen senses something wrong.
"No, she didn't hurt you. But you cry and can't breathe well, then collapsed. I got worried and bring you back here, that's what happened," Prince Adam ended his speech fast. Then Cathlen nods, understand.
"How is she," She asks, out of the blue.
"Who?" Prince Adam, confused,
"Lady Venida, how is she now?" Lady Cathlen respond,
"Oh," Prince Adam understand,
'Come to think of it, we're going to meet each other today at the castle,' He thought,
"Why you care about other people, care about yourself only. Have you already eaten breakfast?" Prince Adam changes the topic because he doesn't want to think about Lady Vendia when he is with Lady Cathlen, his fiancé.
'Erm… this guy... you don't want to talk about her when your fiance is around. Trying to be loyal, are we? Don't worry is okay. I'm not your Cathlen Prince. I'm Alda,' She thought,
"Oh, no, I haven't. What about you?" Lady Cathlen ask,
"I haven't eaten breakfast too," He replied, smiling to Lady Cathlen, then Lady Cathlen nod.
"Okay, then let us go eat breakfast," She responds.
"Okay, haha," They both stood and went over to the dining room to eat breakfast.
"Ahem!" Prince Adam wants to hold hands with her, but she pretends to have an itch then walk faster than him.
"Idiot, this hand is only for my Yerre to hold," She utter,
"Cathlen, wait up! Slow down!" Prince Adam shouts at her because she is already far from him.
"Faster! I am hungry! Your so slow!" She replies,
"Gosh, your walk faster than me," Prince Adam is now beside her panting, then she smirks, satisfied upon making Prince Adam pant like a dog.
'Maybe this guy can be my best buddy? Je Je Je I must be kind to him for now because I still need him for escaping this mansion, but once I got my hands on the lamp, I will then leave you,' Lady Cathlen thought.
