As a fan of all author xomatsumaeohana's books. You won't be disappointed reading this. Just two chapters so far and yet I already want more. This is a continuation from her story Dream Star. But anybody could read this without reading the first book. The author explains the background surprisingly very well, and the characters introduced properly. It's darker than the last book but I will give the author credit for this. The last book showed the characters peaceful lives. But this second book seems to deal with the secrets/darkness briefly mentioned in the first.
Storyline: You wished for a story? You got it now. Grammar: You wanted it to be comprehensible? You got it now. Plot: You wanted an enjoyable ride? You got it now. Character: You want to relate to the characters? You can do it now. Updates: BS updates. A factory outlet is writing this book. The updates are over 9000!!! Conclusion: What else do you need? Just dive into it already.
If you want to read something with a love triangle, Japanese character setting, music, and supernatural powers this is the right book for you.
DS? What's that. SW is the best. I used to find Lila/Haruka/Kiryu's love triangle annoying but now? Now I don't. The author has worked on their characters development a lot. Good job author.

Amazing book, so different from the first one. I can tell the author has come a long way in terms of writing, plot and character development since the first book.

Excellent read, transformation from the first book. I almost thought it wasn't the same book until I read the names again. I wish this book was more popular.
A hidden gem, the plot for this book is so good and the characters are well developed. I like how Kiryu appears more for this story, finally the ML gets attention.
A heartbreaking yes heartbreaking story. This is not for the faint hearted. Ever since I read the first book, I knew there would be angst. Nothing good comes out of a love triangle. But reading this, the author has made it possible to make every character suffer.
47 chapters in and I can already see that the author intends to resolve the loose ends from the first book. 😊😊 Enjoying the new Lila. She is a lot stronger than before.
As a fan of DS, and one of the starting readers. I can say that this book is pure gold. This is better than her last, I can't even compare it. I almost thought it was a completely new book. It starts of more serious than the last one, and the female lead comes across as stronger. I get bitter sweet and tragic vibes, but hopefully it has a happy ending.
Flawless. The author has outdone herself with this sequel. If you disliked the first book and hesitate to read this, please read the first few chapters before deciding anything.

Just started this book but I am already enjoying it. The cover is very beautiful, and I can tell what vibe the story will have because of it. A serious contemporary romance book.

Writing: 5/5( It has improved so much, I no longer have any issues with it) Story development: Comparing it with the first book, the plot for this seems well thought out. Not the biggest fan of the first book, but the opening chapters for this second book is interesting. The author seems to have a better picture for the plot too.
Lila was so weak in the first book but now? Now I like her a lot. She has grown more mature and is more vocal about her feelings/what is on her mind.

I have read the authors previous books before. But only briefly looked at Dream Star. I decided to jump to the sequel and like previous reviews say, this book can be read as a stand alone. I am enjoying the content so far, I hope it continues this way.
After reading all the authors books I can say this is my second favourite. It's good. If your unfamiliar with the authors books let me break it down to you. Her writing isn't amazing or anything, but it's good. Moreover my focus tends to be on how she describes her characters. Her characters emotions are described beautifully. I've never seen a author on this website who can portray such emotions properly.
The thing with author XOMatsumaeohana's books is, once you start reading you can't put it down. I don't see many originals who use a Japanese setting, that already made it stand out for me. She doesn't use those cliche face slapping, revenge, or evil sister troupe either. A refreshing book to read.
A short synopsis but it gets to the point. If you want a more action packed/mystery book with some romance this book is for you. The mysterious make you use your head a lot. You have to read each chapter carefully otherwise you may miss a clue.
I'm enjoying SW more than DS. DS wasn't a bad book but there were many plot holes and confusing moments. SW is fresh, everything is explained. The male lead is appearing 😼😼. There is a balance between the three characters Lila, Kiryu and Haruka. I like how were learning more about other characters too.
I like how you don't have to read the other book to read this. For those who want action then jump straight into this. The author provides the necessary explanations. But for those who want to know about how these relationships started (something light) head over to Book 1: Dream Star.
Updated review after 31 chapters. 🤣 I still can't believe this is DS sequel. The difference, the leap is amazing. These mysterious are gradually being revealed, but more seem to appear as each chapters go by. The author knows how to create suspense.
Only one chapter so far, but since this is a sequel to DS I can review early. It seems like this is the dark arc the author originally wanted to tackle before in the other book. But she found it hard to fit it in. I think it was a good choice separating the books. Now we can see the story from two sides. "The peaceful side" and the dark side. 😚 Author XOMatsumaeohana has a way with words, and the emotions behind her characters are very beautiful. I hope you all give this book a chance.
