He Became Annoying (1)

Daewon's straight silk hair flowed through his shoulder as he neared his faint ruddy face. Sungho caught the craving glint in his narrow eyes, which were looking intently, fixedly drew its attention on Sungho's bare neck.

When the thread of his hair slipped, it enabled Sungho to recognize the hint of rose color forming on the tip of Daewon's ears.

The light tone and somewhat rosy face opposed his dusky looking sharp eyes. They were deep orbs that were comparable to sea when the night had risen—as if without the light brought by the moon as the darkened heaven reflected on water, Sungho would not be able to distinguish its further distance nor figure the sea and the sky apart.

Sungho thought Daewon looked classically beautiful, innocent-looking if he would not give off the overcast feeling on his face when he was showing his neutral expression, which was seemingly grim and serious.

'I bet the ladies find him attractive.' There was no way the ladies wouldn't find him charming.

Even Sungho himself found his face pleasing in the eyes.

"I owe you one." Sungho trailed his fingers on the gauze wrapped in his wrist as he spoke.

"What do you mean?"

Just after Sungho lifted his gaze and looked at the currently seeming blurry man, he claimed, "You saved me. I owe you my life." Warming and gratifying melody harmonized in his voice when he was slowly showing his gratitude.

"..." Daewon momentarily went silent while he exchanged looks with Sungho before he decided to make a response. "I think you'll owe me two."

"Two?"

"After I help you and Hyun Sik."

"... I guess," Sungho acknowledged in favor and unknowingly bobbed his head. "And not only you. My second brother and I need to repay Mr So twice as well."

A thin pitch clanked echoed when Daewon withdrew his hand from the sword and the locket, removing his thumb placed near the rain guard. "You don't have to. You don't owe him any. Lee So didn't do much." Daewon crossed his arms.

"If Mr So didn't ask you to guard me, I won't be owing him," Sungho debated, appearing irked when he observed that Daewon's tone was changing. "And can I just remind you that you're starting to talk to me informally?"

"I'm sorry, Your Highness." The soldier proceeded to stoop his body forward when he replied, bowing to Sungho before he raised his head. "Is what I'm supposed to say?"

Sungho's brows brought themselves together after he caught the mocking tone in his comment. "Mr Daewon, you can leave."

"Aren't Her Highness going to thank me?"

"I changed my mind. Leave."

Sungho swiftly averted his gaze to the annoying man and raised his chin while he fought off his strong desire to cross his arms in his indignation, waiting for Daewon to retire from his room, anticipating the sound of the door closing.

Oddly, Sungho did not apprehend Daewon would emit a possible jerky attitude and irritating character, especially in front of him. When he first encountered him during the meeting, his voice appeared welcoming and somewhat friendly.

Perhaps Daewon was simply acting on that day, to leave a good impression to him.

Sungho bet that Daewon must have been rude to his court lady while he was out, unconscious on his bed. Poor Chun. Sungho's benevolent souled court lady had to deal with his rude demeanor without his help for five days. Just by thinking about it made him more irritated.

'Cunning. Rude. Tease. Two-faced,' he announced in his mind, looking for more terms he could use to describe him perfectly while the exasperation continued to bother him.

'Why did he become overconfident and bold? It made me withdraw from expressing my gratitude at the last minute.' His hand subconsciously moved onto his neck, which he found was patched with a thin cloth as well.

"Your Highness," called Chun who proceeded to slide the door open before she advanced to step inside, a silver tray containing a jug and a cup in her possession. "I brought the water."
