Capítulo 10: Class

Ivla, inside a tall school building. The long halls were spotless.

Within a state-of-the-art classroom, twenty-odd children were happily chatting about.

"Hey, about that new game earlier, let's play!"

"Yeah, I'll download it now!"

The students in the classroom all had their own seats and desks, but there was a clear distinction in social status when comparing some students to others.

The leader amongst them, it didn't take much thought to figure out who it was. Sitting in the front with his feet kicked up, a tall boy with short dark brown hair was grinning.

"Bring me that magazine, friend." Colt grinned, looking at a shy nerdy-faced boy with freckles and glasses.

When the boy wearing glasses heard Colt's order, he instinctively shivered while getting up from his chair. The orders from a tiger, he, as a mere deer, would not dare to defy.

Unsure if it was good or bad luck, a loud voice froze the nerdy-faced boy in his tracks.

"Get it yourself, Colt." Sitting near the middle row on a seat next to the window, a familiar chubby face looked out the window as if lost in thought. If Tylem saw this person, he would know who it was. From the number of students talking to him, both male and female, it could be seen that he was quite popular in the classroom.

"Hmph, I was just joking. Don't get so worked up over nothing, Kaden." Sneering, Colt joked with a 'friendly' smile.

[Kaden, you've been pushing your luck recently. I won't sit still for much longer. If it wasn't for the fact that my father is working for your family's company, why would I allow a fat shit like you to talk down to me.]

The classroom atmosphere suddenly grew cold, and a low whispering ensued amongst the students in the classroom. Kaden was kind to everyone unlike Colt, so the majority leaned toward the former's side.

However, Arthur, the nerdy-faced boy, had a completely different opinion, [Fuck… Kaden, why couldn't you just mind your own business. Damnit, Colt will call me out after class now.]

"Creak."

Many of the students were in the middle of their exciting discussions. However, when the classroom door flung open with the teacher walking in, all of them quickly ceased their chatter.

Despite the students hailing from good families, the Ivla teachers all had a far-reaching reputation in the nation's education circle. With this in mind, it was in their best interest to get into the teacher's good books.

"Attention!"

"I have special news for everyone this morning. From now on, our form class will have another bright, promising student joining us each day." Loudly clapping to draw everyone's attention, Wesley announced while making sure to thoroughly praise the mysterious transfer student.

"Oh, a new student? Is it a boy or girl?"

"If it's a boy, I hope he's hot!"

"Agreed, we have too many bookworms in our class compared to the other classes."

"Right, whenever there is an interclass competition with any kind of physical activity, we always get stomped!"

. . .

Mr. Smith, the tough second-year dean, had assigned Tylem to his classroom; furthermore, the middle-aged man had even respectfully brought the boy to the classroom building himself.

"Hello, everyone. This young man here is your new classmate. I hope that our class will make sure that he feels welcome. From what I know, he is not from around here. Please introduce yourself." Wesley declared.

"I'm Tylem. Nice to meet you all."

Keeping it short and simple, Tylem did not shy away at all in front of the probing eyes. The concentrated stares did little to faze him. In his mind, these children were all irrelevant. Maybe, Lynne's harassers were lurking within their ranks.

Following Tylem's introduction, their eyes were still tightly glued onto him. From the twenty-odd students, many of them had varying emotions, but all of them shared one irrefutable sentiment.

Stunning.

"Do we have a friend who can show Tylem around Ivla for the first day?" Looking at Tylem's intelligent appearance, the teacher emphasized, "Get him well acquainted with the classrooms and facilities of our school."

The dean had told him that he should treat this child with the proper respect. Thus, he assumed that the child must have a noble, honorable identity with powerful parents.

Noticing all the other excited eyes, Kaden, the moment he heard the teacher's request, hurriedly offered himself up before anyone else could even open their mouth in time, "I can, teacher!"

Somehow, he was lucky enough to have Tylem transfer into his class. What a stroke of luck.

[Hmph, how dare these unrelated people try to steal my friend.]

Waving at the boy, Kaden had a bright smile plastered across his safe. In the eyes of the other students, their high evaluation of Tylem had instantly shot up even more because of this one move.

Kaden was good at judging people. This was a well-known fact in their class, perhaps even the entire grade.

"Kaden?" Tylem was surprised. It seemed that he and this slightly chubby boy were destined to cross paths.

Regardless, Tylem didn't mind this. Being around Kaden, the feeling was not bad at all.

"Heh, that's me. What are you acting like a stranger for in front of your bro?" In a flash, Kaden had moved to a place with two free seats. Somehow, his speed and reaction time were quite miraculous even in Tylem's eyes. "Come sit!"

The class was in a silent uproar. This sudden intrusion caught the eye of Colt, and he quietly sneered, "What a bunch of mindless fools. This transfer, I don't think he's anything special."

In the classroom, no one else heard the meager voice of Colt, but Tylem did not miss it. In the first realm of Qi Building, every aspect of his body had been strengthened, which naturally included his hearing.

Nevertheless, Tylem just silently took his seat beside Kaden. Despite not knowing Colt at all, he had a cold thought.

This difficult, cocky child would be the type of waste to bully his little sister, right?

Soon, Wesley, the form teacher, continued the classroom's roll call.

"Pst, Tylem. I can't believe you transferred into my class out of all the other classes you could have landed in." Kaden's surprised face was bright. In the second year, there were twenty-six classes in total.

"Yeah, I know." Tylem raised his brow.

It was indeed a very slim chance—a coincidence. The form teacher finally finished attendance, and Wesley let the students have free time for the rest of form time. That way, Tylem would be able to integrate quickly.

Quickly, the chatter resumed. But, this time around, something was different. It was much louder than before. Rather, that was an understatement. The classroom was now flourishing with energy and liveliness.

The classroom was comprised of more boys than girls. In view that Tylem was Kaden's friend, the boys weren't courteous at all as they happily began welcoming him, asking multiple questions such as where he came from and why he transferred. The several girls present in the room were shy, however.

Not moving in the slightest, most of the girls admired the new transfer from afar. Compared to the other boys in class, Tylem was like the tall flower amongst the numerous pieces of cow dung.

Sitting alone in the front, Colt watched the bustling group like they were clowns. With a pair of narrowed eyes, he rested a hand on his chin, "It's one thing for Kaden to attract all the attention since his father is a bigshot superior of my family, but even this new transfer thinks that he can step all over me?"

Colt thought that, as the leader of the class, it was pure logic for a new transfer to pay the appropriate respects to him upon transferring into his lair. It was a sign of disrespect—rebellion.

Recalling that gym class was next, Colt's lips curled into a malicious smile; he would deal with the transfer there. Since Tylem had good looks, he would show the transfer that appearance wasn't everything in this world.
