The little girl frowned when she recalled how that same man had watched the entire show from start to finish without interfering.

Her counterpart might have missed it but she had caught a glimpse of his eyes being focused on them.

He had watched in silence as Yvonne and Hilda interacted and had also known all too well that the Earl's daughter had done no wrong.

Yet, he remained a tight-lipped bystander throughout the incident without speaking up about what he had been a witness to.

While it was true that he was shocked to see his nephew slap Miss Yvonne's hand away, he had done nothing when she was being accused and also let everyone believe that she was the one in the wrong.

If 'Yvonne' had been unable to speak up for herself and her friends had not come forward to speak in her favor, then it was sure that she would have been branded as the culprit who was targeting the new lady.
