Capítulo 12: Jealous
Apparently, almost all of Bingwen's scenes were romantic ones considering his title being 'Romantic King' which was awarded to him by all the fans.
Todays' scene was where Bingwen confesses his love to his significant other. Nie Chenguang who plays the second female lead reciprocates his love and they share a kiss under rain.
This scene is supposed to be the most romantic one of the entire movie since the male lead was famous for his martial arts rather than romantic scenes.
He was said to be the only actor who never participated in any of the kissing scenes until now from the moment he joined this industry.
Hence today's scene was given too much importance by the crew and all the staff.
The settings for rain were ready which was definitely artificial, since there wouldn't be real rain when required.
The director explained the scene to all the actors and once everything was cleared, then everyone entered their roles in their given locations.
Everyone in the set was made to maintain silence and the voice of the director came through the speakers. Once he shouted "Action," everyone's eyes settled on the couple staring at each other.
Bingwen spoke, "Do you really not know how I feel towards you?" His voice lowered so that it seemed like only the person in front of him could hear his words, "Do you really not know how my eyes look at you? Do you really not know how my lips shiver when speaking to you?"
He moved an inch closer to her to hold her chin between his fingers to raise her head so she could look into her eyes. He looked into her eyes to find his reflection but was still searching them for more. He is searching for her feelings towards him.
He lowered his voice further which made it sound like a whisper, "Do you really not know that I ….. Love you?"
Her eyes widened at his sudden confession but there is no shock instead there is only surprise. She is pleasantly surprised.
"I....I…" Her lips quivered. She couldn't respond. There were drops of water under her eyes. He moved his fingers to hold her cheeks while wiping away those tears using his thumbs.
His eyes teared up looking at the tears in his loved one's eyes. He couldn't hold his heart from aching. He doesn't want to see her cry, even if they were because of him. Even if they were due to happiness.
"You are not allowed to cry. For whatever reason." He spoke, clearing her tears.
She nodded her head while controlling her trembling body.
Rain started pouring, washing away all the shed tears. It started clearing all the pain from their hearts, frown from their faces and remaining shed tears.
Her eyes turned red and he slowly kissed her eyes to remove all the pain from them. He wanted to kiss all her tears away but rain did his job. So what? He is not the one to accept failure for his loved one. He proceeded to kiss her eyes. He is competing with the rain to help her clean all her tears.
The number of kisses on both her eyes increased with an increased pace. Slowly his head lowered a little more to kiss both sides of her cheeks and nose continuously. He kissed all the parts of her face leaving no gap.
When his lips were about to touch her lips, he stopped an inch away and opened his eyes to look at her.
Their noses touching each other, while their breaths turned into one, their eyes met each other's.
His senses made his way into his mind at the last moment and he realised that she didn't answer his previous question. He is a gentle man who would not force himself onto the others to satisfy his wishes.
His eyes that were seeking her permission were filled with intense love and care that she melted into his embrace at once accepting all his love.
Their lips came nearer leaving half an inch gap in between them. She nodded her head giving him the permission that he was clearly waiting for.
Just as he was about to capture her lips, a shout interrupted the scene, "Cut."
Everyone on the set came back from the intense love scene they just witnessed and applauded for both the actors.
Shao Rong looked at the director who just cut the scene in the middle. He was intensely looking at both the actors. She found different emotions fighting in his eyes. There was worry, fear, understanding, and most of all, jealous?
He was jealous. She turned her head to look at Bingwen and Chenguang to find that she was staring intensely back at the director too.
She walked towards them to handover a towel to Bingwen while watching the actions of the other couple.
The director too walked towards them and he handed a towel to Chenguang and he controlled all his emotions.
Everything seemed too natural that no one doubted anything between them.
As both the actors dried their heads with towels, the director spoke to them, "The scene was amazing. All your emotions are on point too. Good job both of you. When it comes to the kiss, we can cover your heads from another angle to show that you kissed. So there is no need to continue this angle anymore."
Both the actors nodded their head in understanding. Anyway, it's not like they were really going to kiss the other party. They too were hesitant to kiss some unknown person. They too want to create an illusion to show such scenes and never the ones to do them really.
Shao Rong remembers that Sis Xiao mentioned that Bingwen never actually kissed anyone for filming purposes. He wants such actions to be pure and not for commercial purposes.
But what made the male lead famous was that he never agreed to even show such illusions to the audience. He is very strict to show the audience that he never kisses anyone. Many directors persuaded but the answer maintained to be a 'No' with no one knowing the reason.
