The burial ceremony ends with Lanis by my side. 

Jules has been a big help, alongside Alby. I don't know how I thought I could handle all this on my own. Okay, maybe I am not alone, at least I have Lanis and his family. 

Lanis said he had something to talk to me about.

I know it has to do with the meeting with his father. I can't handle another setback. The day is already over. Only two more days till the ritual. Everything has to go well. I am a little excited—scratch that, I am a lot excited for this. I have waited for this all my life. the supposed mating ritual that will join me and my significant other. 

When I found out that Lanis was my mate, I was scared. Afraid that people would judge us, not accept us but now I am certain that he is the perfect one for me. I wouldn't trade him for something easier, something more accepted. I like him and him alone.
