Capítulo 40: Family

It's been a few days since we finished our 'investigation' mission, although there are reports of demon sightings from the crow, they were taken care of by those who are lower ranking than us.
There wasn't any Hashira rank mission yet, at least for us because the other Hashira is on a hunting spree, they are diligent that's great, but let's get real no matter how many demons they kill it won't change unless they kill Muzan and his upper moon, basically the demons down that rank is nothing compared to the upper 6 along with Muzan.
Aside from having no mission, I've noticed a few things that change in our household, first of all, Archer, I don't know what happened but it's been a few days since he had that conflicted expression on his face, it didn't disappear.
Second, Lucifer is trying to communicate with Echidna whenever she has the chance, and sometimes also with me, but that was strange, just a reminder within the half-year that we've been in this world.
Lucifer NEVER tried to communicate with us voluntarily, unless we talked to her first, then she would reply back.
Strangely, I feel something is about to befall me, my instinct is screaming that she's planning something fishy, but I'm not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing.
Third about Makugo, she's been getting bold lately, she has been sending obvious messages to Jaune that she's interested in him, but noooooo! He's completely oblivious about her advances to him, to my point of view it's like seeing a second Pyrrha!
Poor girl, she must be frustrated that her advances are always a failure, unless she says it directly he won't know it. I mean come on he only knew about Pyrrha's feelings for him after kissing him!
If you ask why am I not helping? No, you're all very wrong, I am helping by not doing anything because if they somehow managed to be in a relationship, it would be hard for them to keep it up.
They are literally worlds apart, who knows if Jaune could even come back into this world, the two of them would only get hurt if they are in a relationship, so it's better to leave Makugo's feelings unanswered.
I know it's a dick move for me, but I'm doing this for both of them, this is only the reason why I am not actively trying to form a romantic relationship with the characters of demon slayers.
I like Shinobu as a character but as a person? I don't know, she just hits differently in real life.
In a way, I'm glad that I got into a relationship with Echidna instead of the inhabitants of this world because I know that we could always talk to each other when we needed to.
Breaking away from my previous thoughts, I felt a slight weight on my left shoulder, and only to see my girlfriend using it as a pillow, she rested her head on my shoulder. I slowly warped my left arm around her waist and began, "I didn't notice you approaching me at all,"
"Hm? You're just out of it, that's why you didn't notice, what's the problem?" Echidna asked as she lifted her head and stared at my face,
I smiled at her and slightly shook my head, "No, it's nothing important just thinking about some things."
"Mhm...if you say so," Echidna didn't say anything after that, which is really a relief.
This is another reason why I liked her, she doesn't like prying into my privacy and always knew how to stop, which in comparison to my ex who keeps prying into my privacy and doesn't know when to stop, it's annoying most of the times but I've managed to keep my cool and get used to it, but it doesn't mean it's getting less annoying.
I'm glad that we are over, we stayed in this position for a while, both of us had enough silence, it wasn't awkward but peaceful.
But that changed when, Echidna opened her mouth, "That semen yours is healthy, it means you can give me a healthy child,"
"..."
Silence, it atmosphere instantly became awkward, at least for me, I wasn't sure how to reply to that question, but I'm speechless for sure, she was really serious when she wanted to check if my semen is healthy or not,
"Don't you agree with me? It's always better to be safe than sorry," Then Echidna puff her cheeks cutely,
Damn, this childish side of her is extremely cute, but still what's with her and the children? I have to ask her, "I'm not sure about that but…why are getting worked up about having healthy children? It's not like you desire to have one…right?"
Echidna frowned a bit from my words, and began, "No, I desire a child. It might not mean much to you Blake but it means so much to me, I'm getting old nearly 30, most people I knew in my world have already started their own families, and it made me think about it.. while previously it's true that I had no interest in starting a family for myself because I've been chasing my dream, my goal to save anyone, however that change when you, I started our relationship it made me realize that it's possible for me, to have a family of my own, so Blake please give me a family,"
I wanted to say that she was joking, but now there wasn't the slightest lie in her words, she was serious about having a family, then it made me think about it.
A family? I never thought about making one of my own, at least not seriously, I'm still young, and having a child of my own didn't register in my head yet, I'm still 19.
I'm as immature as I could be, this was just too fast for him, perhaps this is what it means to have a relationship with someone a decade older than you?
Sure, having a family of my own sounds nice and all, but I'm not ready for that responsibility, "Echidna I.."
"Shh, you don't need to answer it. I know that you're not ready, somehow it isn't surprising, I'm just going too fast aren't I?" Echidna giggles a little, then continue,
"Don't worry, it might not be now, but in the future…will you start a family with me?" Echidna said as she stared into my eyes.
"Yes, I'm willing to start a family with you but for now, sorry I'm not ready." I smiled at her bitterly, it made me feel guilty that I can't give her what she wants. After all, this is the first time that she asks something from me, and to reject it makes me feel weak.
Echidna shook her head with a smile, "Don't be, as long as you promise I'll wait…"
Then she held my hand, and I did the same, and this conversation alone made me realize how serious our relationship was, it wasn't just a light one like I originally thought, but a lifetime commitment.
Before I was asked why I am so unlucky, but now I think I might have saved the world In my previous life to have a girlfriend like her and be ready to be my wife anytime soon.
Although we just started our relationship, not even a week has passed, we are already advancing into a stage that I didn't manage to have with my ex, even though we dated a year nothing much has changed, it's more like being friends than being lovers and to think I was so blind not to realize that.

A mission arrived yesterday, and it was going to a template in the north because the report said that there was a demon living there,
Rather than rushing to the place, Jaune and I are walking, as he started talking to me, "So, you see Makugo was inviting me to her room to eat something, and guess what? There was nothing! So maybe, I thought she wanted me to cook for her, but for some reason, she was looking at me in disappointment! Why is that?"
Hearing him, I wanted to facepalm at his idiocy, what Makugo meant was VERY obvious and he still didn't get it?!
Damn it, is being blonde a natural idiot?
"Jaune, please don't talk about her anymore, the more I hear about it the more I pity her." I do, I seriously pity her.
"Eh? Why?" The dumb blonde asked in confusion, at this rate he would remain single for the rest of his life!
My brother, why are you so dense?!
"No, just don't ask, okay? Let's talk about your team from Remnant," I changed the subject.
"Oh, yeah about my team.." Jaune started talking about his team's school adventures including his sister's team RWBY.
An hour after that, we arrived at the temple it was almost midnight, the place was eerily quiet, as expected because it was abandoned ages ago,
As I was about to step inside the temple, I suddenly felt goosebumps, and my instinct is screaming that whatever is inside that place is very dangerous!
"Is it just me or…this place gives me chills?" Jaune said as his hair stood from his body,
"It's not just you.." Despite the warning, I took the lead and went inside, and there I saw someone that I don't want to meet early,
"So, you demon slayers are here…" The demon in front of me turned around and all of his six eyes stared at me, and continue,
"Become a demon, or die."
Fuck,
I knew that this battle won't be easy, and it could potentially kill us,
