Capítulo 39: The Harmonized Glutton Blessing
The blue-furred eagle looks bloodthirst, its eyes somehow are sending hatred to Zed's team like it has some grudges with them. It dives towards Zed's team direction like a stream of a water jet, Its body is covered by water and the water started to spin turning into a water vortex.
Zed screamed inside his head, 'Why is that bird look so angry? We didn't do any..' as Zed was screaming inside his head he turns his head to his left and saw a blue egg on Owin's hand.
"OWIN WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!, THAT'S A PREDATORY BEAST EGG!!" Zed shouted to Owin.
Hearing this Vical also looks at Owin and cannot help but to curse inside his head for Owin's stupidness.
Owin gives a smile to Zed and Vical as he turns into a cloud of green smoke and disappearing into nothingness.
Zed and Vical curse Owin even louder as they jumped off from the mountain to avoid the eagle's attack while slowing their falling speed by gripping the surface of the mountain once in a while.
having its attack missed and cannot spot the human who stole its egg, the eagle turns more furious and follow closely behind Zed and Vical.
Zed and Vical slammed into the ground making a huge crack and instantly roll over to their sides knowing that the eagle is probably behind them intending to stab them to death with its beak.
BAM!
They were right, The eagle slammed to the ground destroying its surrounding.
Zed and Vical escape together as they can see a green smoke leading them to a cave that's not far from their landing.
They enter the cave and immediately close it with a huge boulder that is carried by Zed and Vical while Owin makes a cloud of green smoke to cover the huge rock to hide the cave. The eagle is confused about where the thief gone to and ultimately leave with rage still burning inside it.
After securing the entrance, Zed and Vical heard Owin laughing his ass off behind them.
"Owin that's not cool, You could've got us killed. Luckily that eagle is only an Elementary Predatory beast if it's a Mesial or Superior Predatory beast, we probably can't outrun it" said Vical annoyed by Owin's action.
"Pardon me, I only want to have a blue eagle as my pet in war someday" answered Owin nonchalantly not feeling guilty at all.
Zed can only shake his head while Owin takes out a light crystal to light up the cave.
When they saw the inside of the cave they are shocked.
"Oh my god, This is Anordite crystal!" said Owin with a surprised voice.
Zed and Vical gasp as they look at the surrounding Anordite Crystal that decorate the cave in a shiny grey color.
Anordite Crystal is a mineral that has an innate property in enhancing elemental frevor, It is really good for mages because it can enhance their elemental skills by at least forty percent.
"This can be distributed to the Lovlarix! This can be war changing!" said Vical with an excited expression.
"Okay but we have to focus on the task first, We need to find a wind predatory beast" remind Zed that immediately wiped Vical and Owin's excited look.
"Let's just report this place after we find the wind beast, We only have about six hours before the war starts," said Owin after thinking briefly.
It is a war manner in this era that the war can only start after both sides prepare themselves and the appropriate time is around six in the morning, In thousand of years no kingdoms have ever break these unspoken rules. The reason being this unspoken rule is that by war both sides are agreeing in high casualties, and because of that they have to respect one another as a human being although they are enemies. There is also a saying from the military tactics section of Lovlarix that the winner is usually the one who takes the bigger loss.
After checking if the beast is gone, they walk out of the cave and mark it with Zed's blood because Vical can find it with Zed's scent on it. Owin also leaves his blood and make a symbol with it that makes a cloud of green smoke constantly hiding the cave even if he's not there.
Thinking briefly, They decided to circle the mountain to find a better and less dangerous place to climb.
After ten minutes of running, they were surprised that each and every part of the mountain is guarded by different kinds of beasts and all of them are at least Elementary Predatory beast.
"Look there, There's a crack on the mountain's surface that can fit us all the way to the top. Let's use that as a cover as we climb up" said Vical while pointing at a point on the mountain's surface that is steeper than the other parts.
Zed and Owin look at it and agree.
They embark on the journey of climbing once again.
Twenty minutes have passed with no obstacles, They only constantly heard a round of different roar from the beast. The closer they get to the top the more and louder beasts roar can be heard.
After about five hundred meters before they reach the top, they can see a rainbow aura coming from the top that brings a comfortable feeling to them.
They keep climbing until they reach the top, The top of the mountain is not pointy rather it is a round surface.
Zed takes a peek to the top of the mountain and saw many different kinds of beasts roaming the area, there is a humongous ape with brown and white fur with its chest and belly black colored, a white-furred wolf with red fur on its neck that has a long fang coming out of its mouth, and many more beast that Zed didn't know.
The beasts are roaming leisurely but the strange thing is that they didn't fight each other, Normally beasts with different races will fight if another beast enters its territory but that scene didn't happen on the mountain peak.
The mountain top is a round surface and it is so wide that although there are at least fifty beasts the place still has so much room, even if there's a fight the other end might not notice.
Zed look around carefully and spotted a rainbow-colored aura on the sky like an aurora, It is breathtaking that makes Zed looks at it too long before Vical slap him on his feet because they are still holding their grip on the mountain's surface like a lizard.
Zed snapped out of it and let the other see as well.
"That is the phenomenon that I read in the book of beasts, what is it called.." said Owin while thinking hard to remember the name of it, then he seems to remember something and said, "Harmonized Glutton Blessing! Wow, that's a rare phenomenon, Based on the book I read it is a great opportunity for beasts and someone who has a bloodline!"
Hearing this Zed and Vical eyes lit up, "Really? Let's go then".
"There's a hole right there, We can sit there to hide when the phenomenon starts," Owin said while pointing at the nearby hole that is big enough for the three of them to sit.
They walk sneakily to avoid any attention but to their surprise even if a beast looks at them they didn't attack unlike the blue-furred eagle earlier.
"Quick let's sit down and takes as much of frevor that is concentrated here during the phenomenon," said Owin while he runs quickly towards the hole and sits on it.
Zed and Vical follow Owin and sit down as they feel the surrounding with their senses.
The Harmonized Glutton Blessing is an aurora that makes the surrounding frevor concentrated to it, It is beneficial to beasts and someone who has bloodline because they can absorb it directly with the help of their bloodline.
After five minutes the aurora on the sky glows more brightly and all the beasts are lying down as they close their eyes. Zed can feel the frevor on the surrounding grows thicker, The frevor that is concentrated by this phenomenon is agility frevor that contradicts Zed's speed frevor assimilation and fire frevor nonetheless he still absorbs the agility frevor.
After a quick thirty minutes of absorbing frevor, The phenomenon is over.
Zed opens his eyes and feels his body, 'I reach level three Noble Knight rank?!!' Zed thought excitedly, 'Now I am a Noble Knight rank that assimilates with strength, endurance, and agility frevor. I personally like speed more but no matter, given a little bit more of time I can assimilate with speed frevor making me one step closer to True Knight rank' Zed continues on his thought.
Vical face is brimming with happiness, "I reached level five Noble Knight rank, all I need is assimilate with endurance frevor then I will reach the True Rank HAHAHA" said Vical happily.
Zed and Vical turn to look at Owin to see Owin lower his head, "What's wrong Owin?" asked Vical.
"I am a wind mage and stepped into Noble Mage rank when I comprehend the basis of the water element, I only comprehend a little of the fire element from this event, and that almost gives me nothing at all" said Owin with a sad tone.
"That's what you get for doing what you did before!" said Zed and Vical simultaneously.
After that, they peek their surroundings to see if they can find a wind beast when suddenly.
A heavy thumping sound was heard from their back and a shadow covers them.
They feel something behind them and turns to their back, what greets them is a big ox that can stand like a human. its eyes glare at Zed's team with a scary look.
The ox is bigger than the three of them combined, it has an armor on its kneecap and shoulder that looks unsymmetrical that is obviously not its but it is someone else's armor that the ox killed, and three horns grow on its head that is one meter long.
With their new power, They are more confident in themselves.
But they forgot that they are not the only one getting powerful from this event.
