Capítulo 36: Chapter 36: Warning and Explanation

"Well then, I guess. It's nice to meet you, Dad."

Hearing this, Tony went to hug the boy once more.

'I'll raise our son in your stead, Sarah.' he thought. Happy looked at the father and son duo with a smile of his own. He could already foresee changes in the future due to Isaiah.

"Ahem."

The men and the boy looked toward the source of the sound and saw the Ancient One had cleared her throat to attract their attention.

"Now that I have your attention. Mr. Stark, how long do you have before returning to Malibu?"

"I've got maybe..." Tony was about to reply,

"You have until Sunday night, sir" Happy finished for him.

His boss nodded,

"That's about right. I have to leave the day after tomorrow."

"I see. Then will you be returning to your hotel?"

"Huh... yeah."

"Then may I propose something? How about you stay in Kamar-Taj for the remaining of your vacation?"

Tony raised an eyebrow,

"Am I allowed?"

The Ancient One smirked,

"Mr. Stark. You are speaking with the Sorcerer Supreme here who is essentially the leader of Kamar-Taj."

"Ah. Then I'll gladly accept." Tony turned to his bodyguard,

"Happy, return to the hotel and bring our stuff from the hotel? But don't check out from the hotel, we still need to leave traces of us booking that place.

"Sure thing, boss."

"Let me open a portal for you, Mr. Hogan."

With a flick of her fingers, a portal opened up and Happy walked through.

"I'll be back, Boss." before adding with a smirk toward Isaiah,

"And young master."

Isaiah rolled his eyes.

"Be sure to tell Drumm to send you our way when you return." the woman said.

"Alright. Thanks, ma'am." Happy replied and the portal closed itself.

The Sorcerer Supreme then turned to Mr. Stark,

"Mr. Stark do you have the means to access all the footage of when Isaiah uses his abilities?"

"Well, I have my laptop in the car though."

"I see. Then when Mr. Hogan returns, will you be able to delete every footage of Isaiah?"

"Yeah. I can do that. It's no biggie."

The woman then turned to Isaiah.

"Isaiah."

"Yes, Teacher?"

"Please be more careful from now on when using your powers. It was our luck that the person who found us is your father."

"Ah... yeah... I'll do that. Sorry for causing trouble."

"No problem, Isaiah. I'm not forbidding you from using magic, I simply want you to be more careful," she told him before speaking to the both of them.

"Now, why don't I let Isaiah show you around. He could also explain to you about our society."

The boy smiled and nodded,

"Sure."

Tony smirked,

"Yeah. I also want to learn more about this world."

Isaiah smirked,

"Then I'll show you a whole new world."

Tony looked at him,

"Was that Aladdin?"

"Hehe."

"Then I will leave you for now. Once again, call me if you need anything." Fiona said.

"Thank you, Teacher."

Tony then gave the woman a grateful smile,

"Thanks, ma'am."

"It was a pleasure meeting you. And I hope the future will treat you well from now on," she said before leaving.

Tony looked at the door she left quizically,

"The future?"

"Teacher has the ability to see the future. She must've seen something in yours. Although, it's all moot point." the boy said with a shrug.

"Why?"

"Because you got involved with me."

"What does being with you have to do with the future?"

"The future is like a stream that can be divided into countless paths all showing different kinds of future. Due to my trip to the Root, Fate can no longer control me. I am making my future since I am unaffected by Fate."

"What?"

Isaiah dismissed it,

"You'll understand later."

He walked up to the door,

"Now come on, I have a lot to show you... Dad."

He added in the end.

"Yeah, that's going to take some getting use to," he whispered.

Seeing his expression, Tony told him,

"You can call me Tony, if you want, for now."

Isaiah thought about it,

"I'll think about it."

He said and they left the room. As they walked down the hallway, Isaiah suddenly asked,

"I know you told me that you found me through Percy, whom I'm gonna talk with. But how did you know to find him? You never exactly specified that."

Tony nodded,

"Right about that. Well, I first tracked a girl named Bianca di Angelo."

"Bianca? Why her?"

"February 14th, CCTV has caught you going on a date with her," Tony said before adopting a sly smirk,

"Eleven years old and already going on dates. You work fast, kid," he smirked.

Isaiah simply gave him a confused her,

"Date? What's that?"

Tony was perplexed,

"You don't know what a date is?"

Isaiah shook his head.

"When Bianca and I became friends, she said that friends " hang out" with each other," he said while making air quotes. "So I just asked her to hang out on the day. She agreed and we hung out for the day."

Tony simply looked at him in shock as his son gave him an innocent look.

'Okay, Tony. Your son is just an eleven-year-old socially and emotionally stunted kid. I can't blame him for not knowing. He's not dense. He just doesn't know.' he reassured himself.

"Don't worry. Your dad has a lot of experience and he'll teach you everything!" he said with a proud expression.

"Huh... okay? Sure."

"Anyways, because I saw her seeing you use your powers without giving a reaction, I decided to track her."

"How?"

"Well, I had Happy place a tracker on-"

"You what?" Isaiah suddenly interrupted as he snapped his head toward Tony.

"I put a tracker on her?"

Isaiah froze in his tracks,

"How does your tracker work?" he demanded.

Put off by the boy's sudden change in behaviour, Tony answered,

"The tracker is an invention of my which sends its signal to my personal satellite which sends another signal to whatever device I use."

Isaiah facepalmed.

Sensing something wrong, the man asked,

"Wait. What's wrong?"

"Follow me!" Isaiah quickly said before running away.

"What's wrong?"

"I'll explain later."

Isaiah soon arrived in front of his room.

*Bang!*

He slammed it open before and ran inside. Tony arrived a few seconds later slightly panting.

"Jesus Christ, your fast! Just what's going on!"

"You shouldn't have put a tracker on Bianca. In fact, no communication devices should be near her or any of her kind." Isaiah said as he grabbed his bucket.

Tony watched in fascination as the boy held his palm up facing the ceiling. A few seconds later, a water ball began to form above his palm. The boy nodded when he saw the quantity is enough. He quickly let the water ball drop into the bucket.

"Why?" asked Tony.

Isaiah looked out of the window and saw the sunlight of the rising sun was hitting the floor of his room.

"You now know that the world is bigger than you've imagined. Which means the universe still holds many secrets."

"What more could be hidden? There's literally magic!" The man said as he sat down on the boy's desk chair.

"What if I told you we're not the only intelligent species on earth?"

"What do you mean? Like aliens?"

Tony swore he was going to have a heart attack from all these revelations.

Isaiah looked up and thought about it.

"I don't know about aliens that are living on earth, you're gonna have to talk to my Teacher about that. I haven't researched about them yet."

The boy put the bucket beneath the ray of sunlight a few centimetres behind the spot where the sunlight hit.

"Then what?" Tony asked.

The boy looked straight into the man's eyes,

"Gods and monsters."

Tony looked at him dumbfounded,

"Bullshit. No way." he denied.

Isaiah deadpanned,

"You accept magic and the Multiverse, but you draw the line at gods and monsters? What's wrong with you?"

"Hey! I can accept magic existing since you showed me the proof. There have already been theories about different dimensions, but come on. Gods? Monsters? There has to be a limit, right?"

"Tony, we already mentioned before-"

"To throw my common sense out the window. Yes, I know. But don't you think, we would have seen some evidence."

"But there is evidence."

"Where?"

"The thing is it can't be seen by normal people," Isaiah replied as he placed his hand above the bucket.

He changed his Eldritch Magic and the bucket glowed for a second before the boy activated the formation beneath it.

"What do you mean normal people can't see it?"

"Exactly as I said. This world, especially the United States is covered in a supernatural mist called ironically the Mist. Its job is to keep the mystical from the mundane."

"Huh? Then how come I can see all this? Is this not mystical enough?"

"That's not it. It's because the Mist covers only one pantheon, the Greek pantheon."

"The Greek pantheon as in Zeus, Poseidon and the likes."

Isaiah nodded as the magical formation worked. He then went to sit on the bed and wait.

"Yeah, but please don't call their names. They can sense it and you're just a normal human. On the other hand, they may ignore you because you are a normal mortal. I don't know yet."

Tony looked at him skeptically,

"Are you serious?"

"Yeah." Isaiah nodded.

The boy saw mist start to rise in the air, but there was still no rainbow. He went to his desk and brought out a spare glasses frame with no enchantments on it.

"Let me ask you a question. What is the one thing gods do most in the Greek myth?"

Tony had to think about it,

"They sleep around?"

"Bingo! That's right. They sleep around with almost anyone and anything."

"Riiight." Tony now had a disgusted expression.

If what Isaiah was saying is true, then that means Greek myths are real.

"Are you saying all Greek myths are real?"

"I don't know if all of them are real, but most of them are. For example, Hercules existed."

"For real?"

"Yeah. Anyways, because of all their sleeping around and the fact that the word "condom" does not exist in their dictionary, you know the result."

"Demigods?"

"That's right. And since they're gods, they won't change their habits.

It was then Tony began to connect the dots.

'If he's saying what I think he's saying…'

{"Out of curiosity, are you a mutant Percy?"

"No, but I do have powers."

"What?"}

'So that's what he meant.'

"What you're saying is that Percy Jackson and Bianca di Angelo are demigods, is that right?"

"That's right. Percy is the son of Poseidon and Bianca is the daughter of Hades along with her brother." Isaiah replied as his index finger began to glow orange with mini-arcs of energy sparked around it.

He then began to carve something on the branches of the glasses.

Tony leaned back on the chair,

"Damn! Who would have known?"

That's when he thought of something,

"Wait. Since the Greeks myth are real that means its monsters are real too?"

"Yup, that's why we have to quickly contact the camp."

'Camp? So that camp was not a cult! But an actual camp? And for demigods instead of mutants?'

"Anyways, because of their divine blood, they emit a scent that attracts monsters to them. And, for some reason that I don't know yet, if the demigods use technology that allows communication or the Internet, their scent is broadcasted through the signals produced by the devices which essentially reveals their location to the monsters. For them, using a phone is the same as waving a giant red flag while shouting "Eat me!"." Isaiah replied.

Tony then paled at the implications of what Isaiah was saying.

"Shit! That means my tracker has become a bait for the monsters!"

"Yeah. Fortunately, there is a barrier enhanced by the Golden Fleece protecting them. I don't think monsters will be able to go in, but we can never be too sure." Isaiah said as finally stopped carving in the branches of the glasses.

He looked at the bucket and saw that there was enough most and a rainbow could be seen.

"Goddammit! I didn't know. Is there a way for me to remove that tracker?"

"I can't really fault you since you didn't know what you were getting into. That's why I'll fix it." Isaiah said as he went to his desk once more and retrieved a coin.

"Can you see this?" the boy asked as he held a golden drachma.

Tony frowned,

"That's just a quarter. What are you going to do with it?"

Isaiah smirked,

"That's the thing, it's not a quarter."

The man deadpanned,

"I'm not blind, Isaiah. I can see it's a quarter."

Isaiah's smirk widened as he held up the glasses he was carving enchantments on.

"Try this. Then tell me what you see." He said as he gave it to Tony.

The latter put it on and looked back to the coin. Suddenly, white smoke enveloped the quarter before dispersing leaving a bigger golden coin.

"What was that?" asked Tony.

At this point, he stopped being surprised.

'It works! It's a good thing I ask Teacher about the Mist.' The boy thought.

"This is a golden drachma. A currency used by Olympus and the demigods."

"What are you going to do with it."

Isaiah approached the bucket where the rainbow was now apparent.

"In Greek mythology, there is a goddess named Iris. She is the goddess of communication, messages, rainbows and new endeavours. We are going to use this rainbow to call Bianca as if it was a video call."

Isaiah looked at Tony,

"Can you stand by the door, I don't want her to question why the famous Tony Stark is in my room."

"Sure. I can do that. But I need to remind you that your friend already knows." He said as he walked up to the door.

"Percy?"

"Then I'll contact him to not tell anyone."

"Don't worry, he and his mother told me they will keep this a secret."

Isaiah nodded,

"Here we go." He said before tossing the coin into the rainbow.

Tony saw the coin disappear into the rainbow and his son then said,

"Oh Iris, Goddess of Rainbow, show me Bianca di Angelo."

Tony saw the rainbow shimmer before forming a ring similar to a portal. It then showed a familiar figure sitting on a bed completing what was most likely homework. The latter noticed the Iris-message and perked up.

"Isaiah!"

"Hey, Bianca. How are you?"

"I'm fine."

She then gave an anxious expression,

"Although, ever since I've arrived, monsters appeared at the barrier. Everyone was nervous. Luckily, the barrier doesn't allow monsters in and Chiron assigned a border patrol that would kill the monsters from inside the barrier."

Tony let out a cringe when he heard the girl.

Isaiah smiled,

"I see. Glad that everything is alright."

"So what's up?" the girl asked as she put her homework aside.

"Well, is there anyone around, first?"

Bianca smiled,

"Nope. Nico went to play with others while all of the demigods of cabin eleven are outside doing one thing or another. This is the rare time I get the whole cabin alone."

The demigod then glanced at the clock,

"Although, they'll return in more or less ten minutes since it's soon going to be curfew."

Isaiah sighed in relief.

"Then the reason I called you is because of those monsters."

"Bianca tilted her head to the side as she became curious,

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"Can you check your school bag? There will be a-"

Isaiah looked to Tony who mouthed "round"

"- round metallic object in it."

Bianca gave him a weird look.

"What?"

"I will explain everything, but can you check it first?"

Bianca gave him a look once more before picking up her school bag and searching through it. After a minute, she pulled out a round metallic object.

"What's this?" she asked.

Isaiah sighed,

"Alright, I want you to listen carefully. I need you to destroy it."

"Why? What is it?" she asked.

"It's the reason why the monsters are at your camp's border.

Bianca now looked scared,

"But I don't even know what this is? How did it get in my bag?"

"Isaiah sighed and braced for what was about to happen next,

"It's a tracker."

"WHAT!" the girl shouted.

She was about to throw the tracker away when the boy stopped her.

"Wait! Wait!"

"Give me one good reason, why I shouldn't end this call and tell Chiron, right now!" she growled as she started gesticulating with her hands.

She was very much pissed because she starts using her hand wildly when she was angry.

"Because I didn't put it."

"Oh yeah!? Then who?"

"Me." Tony suddenly said and walked up to the Iris-message and stood beside the boy.

He may be irresponsible, cocky, arrogant, an asshole and many other things. But even he couldn't let a kid cover him like this. He had his pride after all.

"Who on earth are you!?"

Bianca the squinted her eyes,

"Wait… Isaiah, am I hallucinating or is that Tony Stark besides you?"

"Yes." The boy replied.

Bianca didn't know what to say.

"I… have so many questions." She said as all rage was gone leaving utter confusion.

"I know. And I'll answer them. We owe you this much for the trouble we caused."

Tony, however, shook his head,

"You didn't do anything, kid. It was my fault." He turned to Bianca,

"In fact, when he heard about the tracker, he immediately contacted you."

"Wh… Are you a demigod, Mr. Stark?"

"Nope. 100% biological and free-range human."

"Then you're a clear-sighted mortal."

"What's that?"

"It's a human born with the innate ability to see through the Mist. Percy's mom is a clear-sighted mortal," Isaiah answered.

"Ah. Then no I'm not a clear-sighted mortal."

"Isaiah, what's going on? Why is Mr. Stark here and why did he put a tracker in my bag?" the demigod asked the boy.

She then frowned,

"Now that I think about it. The last person that may have touched my bag is the man that bumped into me."

"That was my bodyguard. He planted the tracker in your bag under my orders." Tony said.

"Why?"

"It's better if we explain it face to face, Bianca. I don't want anyone else to know about this. It must remain a secret for now. When are you available?" the boy replied.

"Well, I can probably head to the New York Sanctum after curfew."

This time, Isaiah was confused,

"How?"

Bianca smirked,

"You're not the only one with special abilities, Isaiah."

"What about Chiron?"

"What about him?"

"What if he finds out?"

"It's not like we'll tell him. What Chiron doesn't know won't hurt him," Bianca said before suddenly frowning,

"I'm really confused right now, but I'm also very angry. So please give me a proper explanation." She said as black shadow-like energy exploded from her fist, crushing the tracker.

Isaiah smiled,

"You won't even believe it."

"Alright. I'll see you soon, Isaiah and Mr. Stark."

Bianca then swiped the Iris-message to disconnect leaving the father and son duo with only mist and a rainbow. Isaiah then turned the magic formation off before putting the bucket away.

A silent atmosphere settled in the room before Tony broke it.

"I like her."

The boy looked at him quizzically,

"You chose well." He continued.

"I, honestly, have no clue what you're talking about."

Tony sighed and reminded himself that the boy had a reason to be dense. As his father, he had to teach him many things, even the ways of the women.

"I thought we agreed to not tell reveal your existence?" the boy asked.

"Yeah, that's not going to happen," Tony replied.

"Why?"

"What do you mean, why? That's not how it works. I can't let a kid take responsibility like this, let alone my child cover my ass."

Isaiah simply looked at him before sighing. He then looked at his watch,

"Well, we still have time before her curfew, let me show you around. To begin with, this… is my room. And…"

Isaiah started to guide Tony Stark around Kamar-Taj as the latter smiled.

***

One and a half-hour later, Isaiah was now standing outside of the New York Sanctum. He had guided Tony all over the headquarters of the Order of the Masters of Mystic Arts. Now, he was busy deleting and fabricating fake footage to put in the CCTV system so that there would be no traces of him left. Bianca had already contacted him that she would arrive shortly sending an Iris-message using a flashlight and a prism.

"I really have to find a better way to communicate. Maybe I can create something that can mask her scent or something. But that would mean I would have to study her body or blood. Maybe I coul- Huh?"

He was thinking about ideas when suddenly he felt a spike of divine energy. But something was weird,

'Behind?'

He turned around and to his surprise, the spike of energy appeared once more behind him. He turned around again, but, once more, it was behind him.

"Huh? What's going on? Why am I sensing energy when there's nothing behind me?"

Suddenly, something shot up from behind him and let out a huge scream.

'Scream?'

Turning only his head back, he saw that it was his shadow! The sorcerer looked up in the sky where the scream was still present. It was difficult to see what it was because of the night sky. Isaiah squinted his eyes and saw it. There was a black splotch of black in the sky. It was growing bigger and bigger as the scream was getting louder and louder. That's when he finally realized that it was not some black splotch, it was a person! And It was Bianca!

"What the hell!" he shouted with a wide grin.

'What did she do!?'

"ISAIAH! HELP MEEEEE!" the girl shouted.

Seems like even she didn't know what she did. Looking around, he saw that there was no one on this corner of the street due to being night. He quickly raised his hand and used (Telekinesis) to lower her safely to the ground. Once her feet touched the ground, she quickly leaned on the wall of the Sanctum and panted.

*Haa!* *Haa!* *Haa!*

Bianca stomped her feet in anger,

"Damn it! I thought I had it this time!" she said, clearly angry and frustrated.

Isaiah simply looked at her bewildered and completely caught off guard by whatever she did. He couldn't help but laugh,

"Pwhahahahaha! What the hell was that!?"

Bianca felt her face heat up. Fortunately, it was dark so the boy in front of her couldn't see it.

"What? I was just trying something new. Clearly, it needs some tweaking."

"What was it you were trying to do."

"I was trying to shadow-travelling." She muttered.

"Shadow-travelling."

"Yeah. According to Chiron, children of Hades have the ability to move between shadows. Ever since, he told me about it in December, after coming back from the quest, I've been trying to learn it. It was only last week I had a breakthrough. Since then I've been trying to improve."

She sighed,

"Looks like I still need to work on it."

She turned to Isaiah and looked straight into the boy's eyes.

"Now tell me. Why was Tony Stark beside you during our call? Why did he put a tracker in my bag? Famous or not, I will kick his ass if he doesn't give a good reason! What the hell is going!?"

Before she could ask more questions, Isaiah placed his hands on her shoulder,

"Wait a second, Bianca. Let's get inside, first. Then we'll talk."

Bianca took deep breaths. Once she calmed down, she nodded.

"Alright. But you better give me a good explanation. You guys almost gave everyone at camp a heart attack."

"Yes, yes." The boy replied and guided her inside the Sanctum.
