Zeel's POV
'Quite a naïve god, but then again. Never judge anything as it is on the surface' I thought to myself in deep contemplation at this unexpected information that would no doubt hinder my plans.
Then I realized a problem, how could I gather everyone to extract the divine spark I required?
Divine power like any other energy diminishes over time without a soul to produce more, hence why runes often accompany divine energy to strengthen them with natural energies or draw in dimensional energies and convert it to more divine energy.
It's been 10,000 years since Hermes split his divine core, a rough calculation shows that within the next 20 years the divine core would have already fully integrated into his descendants, so I am required to extract what amount I could before that time period is met – if I didn't want to extract the divine spark at the cost of innocent lives.
Well, mostly innocent anyway since most jumpers are thieves.
Truly, I was fine with either way but I refused to give Alice any more reasons to want me dead – or rather her bitchy divinity.
While I was considering this, I noticed the paladins stop firing at me specifically and instead opted to type a code on their wristwatch.
Using my nanites it was not hard for me to make sense of the kill-code the Paladin just typed into the scanner on his wrist.
Then a foreboding feeling struck me for a moment, I could feel my eyes becoming brighter as the draconic energy within me had been very active since being burned by Alice.
She probably thought she was burning me but she was not, it was much more severe. The Draconic Energy within my body was enhanced by her flames and had been continually wreaking havoc in my body, just below the surface.
I didn't blame her at all, I have been looking for alternatives to get this violent energy under control ever since our time in Kong Universe but to little avail.
The Draconic Energy seemed to be mutating by using the trace particulate of the God-Syphon solution that remained in my system.
I had my family ingest the solution alongside me at the beginning of my journey, it not only strengthened my intuition, but it also awoke something primal inside me – it strengthened my will to survive or pass on.
The truth of my journey was to survive, thrive, and then pass on. Well, that was my intention before the chains were placed on my soul.
I am not sure what kind of game that Cosmic Being is playing, but I am sure it is an extremely long-term game.
At first, I was reluctant to alter my family's DNA and grant them abilities, but knowing what was about to happen to our Universe, I had little choice.
Abilities were abolished by the Homo-Superior race in the early stages of humanity's transition because it was considered a lower form of evolution than that of which we were pursuing at the time.
However, now stranded alone without the technology to protect me, I could care less about the Homo-Superior Council that no longer exists.
My intuition was my true ability, similar to my sister's healing factor and my dad's electro-kinesis – I possessed an almost devil-like will to survive, and I suspect this is what fuelled the Draconic Energy inside my system.
Making it stronger as time passed by instead of weaker as it should be.
Slowing down my perception of time, while simultaneously using my kinetic energy dilution to siphon all nearby kinetic energy into myself, I watched as everyone moved in slow motion except for Alice who had somehow become exempt from any action I could take.
I thought this was truly amazing since this demonstrated that as a god, she had become exempt from any power not targeted specifically at her with harmful intent – at least from me.
"They're setting up something," I say to her, hoping she had been more observant than myself so she could explain exactly what the Paladins were doing.
"A bomb, I read the glyphs as well. We should be able to breach the Pocket Dimension right now," Alice answered with a neutral expression trying not to show emotions in my wake since her divinity compelled her to stay as far away from me as possible.
"You're gonna allow me to take away most of their abilities?" I asked a bit surprised she wouldn't oppose me, not that it would matter – she had read the glyphs herself, not the bullshit version I spouted to everyone earlier.
"Well, I can still feel empathetic towards them. It's a blessing as much as a curse. Besides, the majority of the power has already integrated with them, so you'd just be extracting that which they cannot integrate.
Some limits on their jumping ability might do them well, so only those truly skilled and trained can use it freely," Alice commented without any fluctuations, she was now talking with wisdom gleaned through the perspective of a God.
From the side of my eye, I could see Elizabeth walking over but in a very slow manner, Alice and I could slow our perception to about equal status, but Elizabeth was a notch below us.
It was akin to a fast thrown dart and the bullet from a gun, Elizabeth was fast but just not fast enough to compete with us.
"Get the rest, I'll get Elizabeth, we're leaving. Be gentle with the Millie girl, her body can't handle high speeds," I say to Alice as she nods and we bolt off in different directions.
I reach Elizabeth and wrap her in my arms, performing the legendary princess carry.
Alice came back with Millie in a similar position but dragging David and Griffin by their hair – I took a while to admire her gentle personality.
The Paladins had already enacted their self-destruction plan, but I managed to enact an isolation barrier at the last moment. Still, the barrier would not last long since the sub-dimension itself was about to collapse.
David was the first to wake up and tried to jump us out of the sub-dimension, but spatial forces were too disordered.
Still, David managed to perform a last-minute jump, that landed us trapped between dimensions.
I guided us towards the Pocket Dimension barrier but instead of colliding with it this time, I activated the multi-dimensional travel for a split second creating a small breach, which I widened with the Hybrid Runes for penetration.
It took around five minutes with Alice exerting her strength to keep the frozen trio of David, Griffin, and Elizabeth from drifting away by the gravitation flux fields occurring all around us.
Finally, a large enough breach was created and we were sucked inside before the barrier re-sealed itself.
I inwardly applauded Griffin for noticing that David was indeed the problem, but with Millie here, we were no longer bounced towards a different location.
The next thing I could feel was constantly falling, before looking below and seeing an ocean of a silver substance – quicksilver.
I urged my nanites to replace my combat shoes with antigravity boots, then I used fusion to merge the mercury below with my antigravity boots, creating a wider platform to lay everyone on.
I looked around and stared at the silver-ocean for as far as the eyes could see. The Quicksilver was no normal quicksilver, it seemed to twist and turn into itself but I could tell that it was vibrating at Zero degrees Kelvin.
How could something move, but not vibrate at all? It was nonsensical even for me?
I zoomed off in the direction of which I detected the largest landmass. Elizabeth and the others had yet to wake up, with Alice being severely exhausted from keeping everyone together in the dimensional gap.
Currently, I was trying to access whatever information system existed in this dimension. Soon I found that the faster I moved, the slower I actually got, and this remained consistent regardless of the speed.
When I slowed down, I could find myself zooming past weird buildings, and islands, until I decided to follow the path towards the greatest power source where confusing laws would stabilize more due to energy sources having higher volatility rates.
Everything makes sense in areas where you either run or be killed.
Here is another chapter....
Not much to say.... I was bored, and just finished my first class...
anyways...
