[Call me an escalator the way I let people down]
●●●●●
Sebastian Tempest was an archaeologist and adventurer, always on the lookout for his next big discovery. One day, he received a request from a man named Julian, who claimed to have information about a set of ancient ruins that held untold riches and powerful artifacts. Intrigued, Sebastian set out to meet Julian and learn more about the ruins.
As soon as he arrived at the rendezvous point, Julian handed him a map and a set of instructions and told him that the ruins were said to contain a powerful artifact that could grant great power and knowledge to whoever possessed it. Julian also warned him that the ruins were treacherous and that many had died trying to reach the artifact.
Sebastian was skeptical, but he couldn't deny his curiosity and desire for adventure. He decided to take the risk and set out to explore the ruins. He hired a team of experienced adventurers and set out on his journey.
They reached the ruins after several days of travel, and they were just as Julian had described them: treacherous, dangerous, and full of traps. Sebastian and his team were forced to use all of their skills and knowledge to navigate the ruins and avoid the traps and dangers that lurked around every corner.
As they searched deeper into the ruins, they finally found the chamber where the artifact was said to be hidden. Inside, they found a mysterious object that glowed with an eerie light. Without hesitation, Sebastian reached out to touch the object, and as soon as he did, he was engulfed in a bright light.
When Sebastian awoke, he found himself in the form of a slime, and his team was already long gone, leaving him behind. He was left alone, feeling lost and alone. Desperate to find a way back to his human form, Sebastian continued to explore the ancient ruin, searching for any clues that could help him. He finally found a hieroglyph that stated that his transformation was predestined.
Sebastian's mind was in turmoil as he grappled with his new reality.
"How can this be? How can I be a slime? What's the purpose of this?" he thought to himself.
"Maybe there's some mistake or some way to reverse this. I have to figure this out"
"But what if there's no way to turn back? What if this is it? What am I supposed to do now?"
"Wait, this hieroglyph says that this was planned by a god, Savitar. Maybe he has answers, or maybe he's responsible for this. I need to find him."
With a newfound sense of purpose, Sebastian set out to find Savitar, leaving the Ancient Ruins behind as his team did.
Sebastian left the ancient ruin, his mind still in turmoil as he struggled to come to terms with his new form. It was a sunny day, the sky was clear and blue. The area around the ruins was barren and rocky. As he made his way out, he came across a small gray cat, it was resting by a tree nearby. Suddenly, he felt an instinctual need to absorb it.
"What is this feeling? Why do I want to absorb this cat?" Sebastian thought to himself.
He approached the cat, unsure of what to do. The cat looked at him with curious eyes and meowed.
Sebastian reached out with his slime form, and as soon as he touched the cat, it disappeared into him. He felt a strange sensation as the cat's form and abilities were absorbed into his own.
"This is... this is incredible. I can feel the cat's form and abilities inside me. This is what I need to survive, to adapt to this new form," Sebastian thought to himself.
He began to experiment with his new abilities, stretching and reshaping his body, and he began to feel more confident with his new form. He started to move around, it felt foreign to him but he was starting to get the hang of it.
Sebastian realized that he had to learn how to control and use his new abilities if he wanted to survive in this new form. He set out to explore the world, determined to understand his new form and find a way to use it to his advantage.
With a sense of curiosity and a desire to see his new form, Sebastian made his way to a nearby river. As he reached the water's edge, he peered into the water's reflective surface and was struck by the sight of his large, blue cat-like eyes staring back at him. He couldn't help but be taken aback by the sight, as he had never seen himself in this form before. He felt both fascinated and unnerved by what he saw.
As he started to move around, testing out his new form, he found that it was faster and more agile than his human form. He was able to move swiftly and silently, and he felt a sense of liberation and power. The sensation of the grass beneath his paws, and the wind through his fur, was something new and thrilling for him.
But as he looked back into the water, he felt a sense of unease. He realized that he had lost his humanity, that he was now something else entirely. He was no longer human, and that caused him to question his existence and his purpose. He wondered what it meant for him, for his future.
With a sense of despair and anger, Sebastian sat next to the river, contemplating his new form and his newfound abilities. He stared into the water, watching as the reflection of his cat-like eyes stared back at him. He realized that he was now the only one of his kind and that no one could truly understand or relate to him anymore.
He thought about his past life, about the friends and family he left behind, and he felt a deep sense of loss. He knew that he could never go back to that life, that he was now something different, something monstrous. He felt a deep sense of loneliness, knowing that he was now truly alone in the world.
As he sat there, lost in thought, he began to realize that he had been betrayed. He had been used for someone else's purposes, his human form and life were taken away from him. He felt a burning anger towards the god Savitar who created him and used him as a weapon. He realized that his whole existence was a lie, and he felt a deep sense of betrayal and anger toward his creator.
He felt a deep sense of despair, knowing that he had no future, no purpose, and no hope. He didn't know how to go on living, and he started to question the point of his existence. He felt a deep sense of hopelessness and despair, knowing that he was now a creature that was not human anymore. He felt a deep sense of emptiness, knowing that he would be alone forever.
Sebastian sat there for hours, lost in thought, feeling a deep sense of anger and despair. He didn't know how to go on living, and he didn't know what his future held. He felt like a monster, a creature that had no place in the world.
As the sun began to set, Sebastian slowly stood up from the river's edge. He felt drained, both physically and emotionally, from the events of the day. He knew that he needed to find food and shelter for the night, but he didn't know where to go or what to do. He felt like he was adrift in a sea of uncertainty, with no compass to guide him.
He decided to head back towards the ruins, hoping that he might find some clues or answers there. As he walked, he tried to focus on the task at hand, but his mind kept drifting back to his depressing thoughts. He felt like he was stuck in a never-ending cycle of despair and hopelessness.
As he approached the ruins, he saw that there was a small village nearby. He decided to investigate, hoping that he might find some answers there. He crept into the village, using his stealth abilities to avoid detection. He saw that the village was small and poor, with rundown houses and dirty streets. He felt a sense of sadness as he realized that these people were also struggling to survive.
He saw a group of children playing in the street, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of longing. He realized that he would never be able to have a normal life, that he would never be able to experience the simple joys of childhood. He felt a deep sense of loss and regret, knowing that he had lost everything that mattered to him.
As Sebastian explored the village, he saw that a group of bandits had entered and were looting, pillaging, and committing murder. He watched from a distance, hidden behind a building as the bandits went about their business. He understood the bandits' goals and motives, as they were similar to his own, survival.
He looked down at his paws and saw the claws, the speed, and the stealth abilities he had gained from absorbing the cat. He thought about the possibility of absorbing the bandits and being able to take on a human form once again. He felt a sense of fulfillment at the thought of using his abilities to further his own goals.
As the bandits finished their looting and prepared to leave the village, Sebastian made his move. He used his stealth to sneak up on the bandits, taking them by surprise as they didn't expect a cat to attack them. He used his speed to disarm them, and his claws to incapacitate them. He made sure they were dead, though his small claws made it difficult to do much damage. Thus, Sebastian aimed for their vitals, their eyes, and jugulars.
The villagers, who had been cowering in fear, saw what had happened and thanked Sebastian for saving them. They invited him to stay in the village, offering him food and shelter in exchange for his protection. Sebastian meowed at the offer, understanding that staying in the village would be beneficial for his survival. He stayed in the village for a while, using the opportunity to learn more about the people and the area, and deciding when the time would be right to absorb the bandits.
During his time in the village, Sebastian quickly became a beloved figure among the people. They saw him as a protector, a savior who had saved them from the bandits. They called him "The Cat" and worshiped him as a deity. They offered him food and shelter, and in return, he protected them from any further attacks.
Sebastian used this time to learn more about the people and the area. He discovered that the village was poor and had little in the way of resources. He also learned that the bandits were a constant threat and that the people lived in fear of them. He made a mental note of this information, knowing that it would be useful in the future.
Sebastian also took the opportunity to explore the area and learn about the different creatures and materials he could absorb. He found that the area was rich in resources, from different types of animals to different types of rocks and metals. He made a mental catalog of all the different things he could absorb and began to plan his next move.
Despite the villagers' worship, Sebastian did not feel any attachment to them. He was aware that they were just using him, and he was using them. He knew that his time in the village was temporary and that he would eventually have to leave. He bided his time, observing, and learning, waiting for the right moment to absorb the bandits, and gain more power.
