The Bai Family's Fall (1)

Lin Xiaofei was sitting in the bed when she heard her door being pushed open. Bai Lu and Jing Chu filed in, carrying a basin of lukewarm water and clean cloth. It seemed that they had come to clean her wound.

"Milady!" Bai Lu exclaimed at once when she saw her young miss sitting up on the bed and awake.

Lin Xiaofei saw the maid was about to jump forward and probably hug her so, before the maid could do that, she said, "Put down the basin of water on the ground and stand two steps away from the bed."

Bai Lu blinked hard and scratched her nose embarrassedly. When she first saw a bloody Lin Xiaofei being carried around by Qu Xing Xu, her heart couldn't stop tightening with worry. It was the first time that she saw her young miss bleeding so much and wondered what exactly happened and what if the duke didn't happen to be around? Would they no longer be able to see their young miss?
