Capítulo 41: Lucky
Chen Fang's luck turned out to be unbelievably good. When the bunch of good-for-nothing delinquents reached his dorm, he was already gone, out to buy food.
Unfortunately, the fortune granted seemed to be over the top too. At the roadside stall selling simple rice meals, he somehow managed to share a table with the fox demoness.
Zhang Mei Xing went silent.
'Luck should have nothing to do with a demon, right? Unless what I gave her examinee, is actually a misfortune talisman?'
Even though the two did not really exchange words, the trainee guide was alarmed since Chen Fang and the fox demoness met without the interference of the overwrite ticket.
It was like a work of fate. Or a bad joke from an evil god.
To the point that she was now suspecting whether the tools and exchangeable items from the system were all pitfalls in disguise. She still had not forgotten what one of those stupid things did to Xiang Linxin.
"Miss, your hat." Chen Fang met the beautiful demoness' gaze before glancing at the cap that had almost been forgotten. The woman about to leave promptly stopped walking and followed his gaze. Then stretched her hand to grab it.
"Thanks." When she said, a polite smile formed on the demoness' lips. The beautiful sight earned no reaction from Chen Fang.
Zhang Mei Xing raised a corner of her lips when she saw the slight appreciation and amusement in the demoness' eyes. It was not for the reminder. It was just a hat. She would not care if she lost it. Even if her wealth was from unclean sources, the fox demoness had more than enough money to buy a whole garment factory if she wanted to.
For sure, the appreciation and intrigue look was for Chen Fang not showing extra admiration even though demoness was currently wearing one of the prettiest faces in the world. She must be thinking that there was actually a young man who could remain indifferent to her stunning looks.
'Miss, you really haven't seen enough of this world.'
If only Zhang Mei Xing could show herself to them, she would have dared the seductive woman to try to seduce a woman-hater or one traumatized deeply by a few women. She could guarantee, this demoness would wake up and realize that there was more to being human. While humans were visual animals, there were still a few exceptions to this rule.
Not long after, the fox demoness left completely. The encounter ended just like that. Zhang Mei Xing noted it in her mind, wanting to see if it would have some impact in the future.
Probably because Chen Fang was feeling like it would be his day today, he did not immediately go back. Instead, he roamed the streets. It had been a year and a half since he last came here. There were several tourist spots that were a walking distance from his university.
Lady luck smiled at him.
He who was dreaming about funds, planning to get rich without even a thousand yuan on him managed to buy a real antique vase in one of the roadside stalls. He got it for a cheap price, initially wanting to gift it to the lady director of the orphanage. He later sold it for ninety thousand when he learned from a restaurant owner that it was authentic. He was thankful since all he did was dine in his restaurant yet the honest middle-aged owner, who happened to be an antique fanatic, saw the item and kindly tipped him off that he could fetch a high price for it.
Everything felt surreal, as if heaven were finally compensating him for his previous bad life, simply shoving in his hands what he thought he currently needed.
Chen Fang's mood turned for better as he looked at the amount that got transferred to his account.
Not long after, he went back to the restaurant and bought a few takeaway dishes to treat his roommates.
However, when he arrived at the dorm five hours later, to his surprise, several unwelcomed people were actually waiting for him.
