Sirzechs was deploying numerous orbs created from his power of "Destruction", exterminating a thousand of the opposing troops in a single instant. If he had really wanted to, he could easily have eliminated ten times the number of troops without much more effort. Sirzechs' power far exceeded all the limitations of a devil.
Just as he was about to reach the base of Damaidus Zereikel Asmodeus, someone blocked Sirzechs' path.
It was Grayfia's younger brother, who stood in front of Sirzechs and began to emanate a hostile aura. He looked at his opponent with hateful, murderous eyes.
Sirzechs spoke: "It is you, Euclid. Please get out of here now, and I won't hurt you." Sirzechs showed his sympathetic side. He hadn't become so cold as to murder Grayfia's younger brother without warning.
However, his words had come to Euclid incorrectly. Rather, he was overwhelmed with anger the moment he stood in front of Sirzechs.
"I guess you don't even take me seriously! You're so despicable!"
"That's not what I mean. I just want to avoid fighting with you."
"I knew it! You're looking down on me! I'm the next head of the Lucifuge house, you know? I'm as capable as my sister!"
He charged at Sirzechs, locking himself into a menacing aura. He fired multiple bursts of immense magical aura. The quality and quantity of auras dragged by the hands of the young man were too much, even for a devil of his kind, who could not escape unscathed from his own attack.
Such was the power that resided in Euclid.
However, that would only have worked if his opponent was not so skilled. Sirzechs freely manoeuvred orbs created from his "Destruction" power and nullified any and all of Euclid's aura bursts. Sirzechs was not at all bothered by the attacks of Grayfia's younger brother, a boy who was said to be a prodigy.
Euclid marvelled. Given how intelligent he was, he must have understood how much more powerful Sirzechs was compared to himself. His face twisted in response to his resentment and his expression was full of anger.
Sirzechs spoke: "I don't want to fight you anymore. You are Grayfia's younger brother."
"Don't you dare mention my sister's name! Damn you, Gremory!" said Euclid, bursting into a rage and hurling himself at him.
But someone stopped him halfway, and it wasn't Sirzechs.
"Wars aren't things an idiot child should be involved in, Euclid."
"Lord Razevan." muttered young Euclid.
"I knew it! I knew that Lord Razevan would take part in the war and lead us to victory against the traitors! Only a Lucifer is capable of winning this war! All those idiots from the other Maou families criticized Lord Rizevim and Lord Razevan endlessly, calling them cowards and stupid. But I knew better, I knew you were special. The four Maous... Fuck them! Lucifer should be the only ruling family in the underworld!"
Euclid was elated to see that Razevan had appeared on the battlefield. After so many months of losing ground to the traitors, the saviour had finally appeared.
Razevan knew what Euclid was thinking and could only sigh helplessly.
Destroying the hopes of Grayfia's younger brother was not something he felt very comfortable doing, but participating in this war was too much to bear.
He had decided to stay in the camp and do nothing but make a move if something bad was about to happen to Grayfia or Euclid, the only two people "important" to him on the side of the Maous.
Razevan disappeared without a sound, and reappeared behind Euclid quickly. He struck the base of his neck with his hand and knocked him unconscious.
Seeing Euclid collapse on the ground, Sirzechs sighed at the naivety of Grayfia's younger brother. A dangerous aura resided inside young Lucifuge. If he were to let him go like this, Euclid could direct his hatred towards Sirzechs or his family in the near future. Even then, if that were the case, Sirzechs couldn't kill Euclid.
First, he didn't want to kill him, and second, he couldn't kill him. With Razevan in front of him, Sirzechs couldn't do anything against Euclid.
"Long time no see, Sirzechs."
Razevan grabbed Euclid like he was carrying a sack of potatoes and confronted the young Gremory.
"In fact, it's been a long time since we've seen each other. Though I never expected to find you on the battlefield." Sirzechs nodded in the direction of his friend.
The two looked at each other silently. Sirzechs slowly increased his devil aura, while Razevan only watched him calmly.
"I would entertain you, but I have an idiot to take care of. See you later."
Without giving Sirzechs time to say anything, Razevan turned around and left the place.
Sirzechs, who had prepared to have a fight with everything against Razevan, was stunned to see the figure of Razevan walking away with young Euclid.
"Wait!" shouted Sirzechs as he followed them on the run.
*-----------------*
Sirzechs quickly caught up with Razevan. He did not ask why he was following him and only smiled as he continued to walk.
"I thought you weren't going to take part in the war," Sirzechs said to Razevan.
"And who said I was going to do that?"
"Huh?"
"I just got back from my trip, and I was just stopping by to say hello to Grayfia. I know that that idiot Euclid is no match for you, so I intervened so that his life would not be in danger. I don't know how Grayfia would react if something bad happened to Euclid, but I'm sure it won't be pleasant. Besides, I think I've started to see him as a little brother."
…
As he tried to transport Euclid to safety, Razevan felt an aura of enormous proportions being fired at them. He turned to find a young boy who was familiar to him. He was the young man from the Beelzebub family. Razevan met him when he was 17 years old when he participated in the "Gathering of Young Demons".
At that time, he had been torturing the young heir of the Oriacs family.
It was then that Razevan, who was getting bored, decided to humiliate him a little.
But the young Beelzebub not only had connections with Razevan but also with Sirzechs.
The young Beelzebub, with his pale blue expression, smiled slightly and said: "... It's been a few days, and many years."
He and Sirzechs had recently met on the battlefield. He controlled a part of the main battalion of Beelzebub's army, and had just fought Sirzechs the other day. The result: an absolute victory for Sirzechs' army. Beelzebub's main battalion had been annihilated by Sirzechs alone.
It seemed as if young Beelzebub had retreated to save his life at that moment, but now, he was facing Sirzechs with a sinister smile. Besides, Sirzechs didn't recognize the intensely frightening aura and pressure that now came out of him.
Sirzechs felt a very powerful hostile aura, but it was not directed at him. Razevan was looking at the young Beelzebub with a terrifying gaze.
Sirzechs felt goosebumps.
The young Beelzebub gave Sirzechs a slight chuckle, and spoke to him: "You made me look bad the other day. Gremory scum. You're a pain in the ass. An enemy of Beelzebub."
He then looked at Razevan and spoke again: "And you, descendant of Lucifer, humiliated me a few decades ago. You're even on the side of the Gremory scum, you're a traitor. You are also an enemy of Beelzebub."
His aura expanded, and at the same time, his body began to change. The body of the young Beelzebub resounded dramatically as it expanded, distorted and divided. Soon his body had become so enormous that he had lost his devil form.
He had become something completely different. What appeared in front of them was a monster in the shape of a fly, about 50 meters high. It had more than ten legs, not only those of an insect but also those of a beast with claws and other uneven legs. The wings on its back also included not only those of an insect, but also those of birds and dragons.
To sum up, this beast could be described as a chimera in the shape of a fly.
"Gishaaaaaagghh!" His voice had become so chaotic, it seemed as if he had lacked conscience or intelligence. The fly-shaped chimera began to generate a dense black fog all over his body. As soon as the vegetation on the ground came into contact with this mist, it instantly disintegrated, corroding even the surrounding soil.
"Poison... and a very deadly one!" Sirzechs thought to himself. Sirzechs was about to launch an attack, but realized that the poisonous mist would reach his own allied troops.
Razevan was still there, watching the chimera with a murderous expression.
"You have sullied your "purity" as a devil to gain power, pitiful."
For Razevan, someone whose "pure" demonic power was the source of his greatest pride, defiling that "purity" was what he hated most.
In fact, he had never hated anything, nor had he ever hated anyone. But now it was different, now he was angry.
For the first time, Razevan had felt anger.
